The unemployment rate dropped to 7.8% this month the lowest rate since Obama took office.
NBC reported:
The nation’s unemployment rate dropped to the lowest it has been in almost four years in September, giving President Barack Obama a potential upbeat talking point as the presidential race heads into the final innings.
The Labor Department reported Friday that the unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent in September, a decline of 0.3 percentage point and the lowest since January 2009. It was the first time the jobless rate has fallen below 8 percent in almost four years.
The government said the economy created 114,000 jobs, about as expected, and generated 86,000 more jobs in July and August than first estimated.
A survey of households from which the jobless rate is derived showed 873,000 job gains last month, the most since June 1983. The drop in unemployment came even as Americans come back into the labor force to resume the hunt for work. The workforce had shrunk in the prior two months. The household survey is volatile, however.
Barack Obama is the worst jobs president since the Great Depression.”

It dropped by .03??
How, exactly? The movement doesn’t seem nearly enough to warrant such a drop. That would indicate some abnormal surge in hiring…
I have to dig into this further. Rick Santelli over at CNBC predicted (months ago) that Obama would make the Unemployment go under 8% before the election, no matter WHAT he had to do. He suspected some “playing” with the data way back then.
I gotta go check.

And….this doesn’t look right, especially when you do even a brief review (as I just did) of the raw numbers.
From CNBC:
“the biggest one-time drop in the unemployment rate in 29 years”
“U-6, the longtime underemployment and unemployment number, remained fixed at a dismal 14.7%.”
Plus, the Bureau of Labor Statistics just “found” 386,000 jobs that it didn’t know about.
Just found ‘em. This week.
Well, now THAT’s convenient.
As my father always told me, “Son, if it sounds too good to be true, …it usually is.
It is too good to be true JTR . The data is being manipulated to suit his re-election effort .

” Why That 7.8% Unemployment Figure Is Raising Eyebrows
Ed notes there are two employment surveys each month: One of businesses (in which 410,000 businesses report) and a large phone survey of households (in which 60,000 homes are called).
The latter survey is much more volatile than the first. It tends to have lots of noise in it, and big swings. But even so, this big spike is notable for being bigger than recent swings (see chart at bottom).
It’s this last survey that informs the actual unemployment figure. The first number, the payroll survey, tells us the net job creation in a month.
Now, according to the household survey, 873,000 jobs were created last month. Very close to one million jobs. That’s not unprecedented; it happened last in 1983.
Only thing is, when that happened in 1983, that was in the first blast of the Reagan boom, and the country’s Gross Domestic Product was growing at a blistering 9.3% rate.
Current rate of GDP growth? Something like 1.3%.”
It seems to me that the household survey , being a random poll is much easier to manipulate ( how can you disprove anonymous responses) than the business one that represents the same businesses each month .
Yeah, I hadn’t had a chance to visit Ace’s site today. It just didn’t even sound kosher.
I’m sure I’ll be hearing more over the weekend.
These folks really must think the entire populace is filled with idiots.
Here’s hoping they’re wrong.
He got elected once didn’t he ? That proves there are a lot of idiots in the country . Our only hope is that many of the idiots will stay home November 6th .
Amen to that, brother. Amen to that.
