A proposed Washington State gun law will call on the county sheriff to inspect the homes of assault-weapon owners.
Seattle Times reported, via Free Republic:One of the major gun-control efforts in Olympia this session calls for the sheriff to inspect the homes of assault-weapon owners. The bill’s backers say that was a mistake.
Forget police drones flying over your house. How about police coming inside, once a year, to have a look around?
As Orwellian as that sounds, it isn’t hypothetical. The notion of police home inspections was introduced in a bill last week in Olympia.
That it’s part of one of the major gun-control efforts pains me. It seemed in recent weeks lawmakers might be headed toward some common-sense regulation of gun sales. But then last week they went too far. By mistake, they claim. But still too far.

Gunowner Home Inspections By The Sheriff
Do NOT panic. Do NOT engage in anything hasty nor rash.
Right now the liberals will try to panic people into violence so they have legal grounds to act against gun owners. Remain calm and focused.
The UN vote will be March 18th through 28th, and during this time, numerous ploys will be presented to get people to act violently.
Do NOT fall for any of their tricks. Once the vote is final, then the move will belong to the government whether they want to push the citizens around and risk a rope around their own political necks, or literally.
I expect either a false flag, or this sort of orchestrated nervous panic reporting to increase over the next few weeks.
Keep calm and remain focused. Do not engage in any criminal acts. Do no harm to any thing or any one. At the conclusion of the UN vote, let’s see what Capitol Hill does, in fact, and not on these reports of hearsay, conjecture, and speculation.
Brittius , while we acknowledge the sense in all that you recommend and in no way encourage any panic or rash behavior , we do take issue with your contention that our post was based on ” hearsay , conjecture and speculation” . No offense taken mind you , but the post refers to an actual proposed bill by a state legislature and not rumor or allegation .
Laws are on books that have never been enforced. Better not to have a useless or unused law. These are the weapons in their arsenal. What the enemy will do at this moment, prior to the UN vote, is try to panic and stampede the herd. Either provocations will lead to some people doing something rash or, people will be so used to hearing the propaganda over and over that they simply give up. It is only talk at the moment. Nobody going door to door. I am certain that gun owners everywhere will address the issues with their elected officials in a manner suitable to the occasion, whether protest, or not voting for a candidate, or a non-violent Ring of Life. If action is taken subsequent to the law’s enactment, is it better to go “ballistic”, or escalate by degrees as appropriate? Prudence is requisite to this entire matter or the elected officials will damage the US Constitution. Notice, things are happening on various State and Municipal levels because the Federal government knows that this matter will in fact destroy the nation. In conclusion, Washington State voters and gun owners will need to address the subject as is being done by New York State voters and gun owners. The “news” reports are a liberal ploy out of the communist and Nazi playbooks to unravel people’s nerves. It softens a target before they hit it so that they will not fight a hardened enemy. Do not fall for their Psych-101 schemes. Understand?

so they are going to search someones home because what? probable cause? probable cause you have a assault weapon,? but they have the paper work that shows you have one, what other proof do they need? this is definitly against the forth amendment, one poster said this could be a scare tactic, anything they find in a unwarranted search warrant is not permissiable in court anyway. so it might be just a ruse. I haven’t seen any drones around here thos I read akron and cleveland on defintily on their list, but hey, I think I seen one many years ago, at first it looked like a small plant but as it got closer it looked alot like those drones you see in the pictures. the proportions were all wrong for a plane that carries passengers. it was awefully quiet in comparsion too. ,
