Motor fuels are severely taxed and the proceeds are slush funded. Roads and infrastructures are in deplorable condition. Then government audacity to say there is no money for paving or repairs.
It wasn’t that far in the past, I used to purchase 100+ octane gasoline (leaded, not alcohol), and with taxes included at the pump handle, it cost $0.299 per gallon. Roads were much better. Cars ran sweeter. Politicians pandered less.
In fact, if I recall, there was something about when Obama became president, 87 octane gasoline sold at the pump for $1.839 per gallon. Who is to blame?
You’re showing your age Brittius . LOL … I can’t recall 29 cent gas , but I definitely recall paying less than 6 bits for it. I guess that shows my age too.
