‘A Long Night’ At Quantico Marine Base: 3 Dead In Shooting

” A Marine shot and killed two of his fellow service members at a Virginia base Thursday night and then apparently killed himself, base officials said.
The incident took place at Marine Corps Base Quantico. The shooter gunned down a man and a woman, the spokesmen said. All are Marines — permanent personnel assigned to the officer candidate school.
Authorities did not disclose a motive and were investigating the incident. The identities of the victims were not immediately disclosed as authorities worked to notify next of kin.”

I read this report earlier. Nothing of substance is being released at the moment. It is unclear if there was a “triangle”, or other relationship between the parties involved or if it were random. Motives would need to be explored unless something conclusive is discovered. This incident differs greatly with the recent events in Nevada where it was in fact, an accident that occurred during training, something all military personnel are subject to dangers of one sort or another during their service, and it is always sad when accidents result in loss of life and serious physical injuries. The latest events in Virginia, requires some very careful and undisturbed investigating by the USMC/Dept. of the Navy, so let’s support them by giving them some peace and quiet to do their jobs.
Somewhere I read that the targets were not random .That’s all I can say at this point .I can’t even recall where I read it . We’ll see .

The attached link is an update of the shooting which took place at USMC Officer Candidate School, Quantico, Virginia.
There has been established a relationship between the three involved Marines, indicating this was not a random event though details of further involvement in the nature of a “Triangle” involving two males and one female, remain confidential to the investigation at this juncture per USMC spokesman authorized to brief the media.
Status of the investigation is unknown at this time and appears to be in the concluding stages of the incipient stages of investigation.
Our Condolences and Prayers are extended to the families of the Marines involved in this tragedy.
