Greetings fellow bloggers . We here at YouViewed have a question for you regarding traffic patterns that we seek your help with . YouViewed has existed for a little over two years and has had more or less steady growth , sometimes in leaps and bounds , sometimes incrementally . Because we have only two years worth of traffic records to rely upon we thought we would pose this question to the blogging community as a whole in hopes of some of the more seasoned veterans being able to shed some light on a matter that is perplexing us .
Some background … in addition to our more-or-less steady upward growth , excepting the occasional month of stagnation we experienced tremendous growth in the months of April and May . New viewing records were set in both months , by large margins each month . However , after the best month of all time in May with a record number of views and viewers June viewership has plummeted to levels unseen in nine months and while we never expected the April/May growth rate to continue unabated we find it curious to say the least that our viewership has dropped so precipitously in such a short period of time . It’s almost as if we were blacklisted by the search engines.
During the record months we saw unprecedented referrals from both Reddit and Stumbleupon and now those has practically ceased to exist . We should add that last year we suffered a drop , much smaller in scope , during June as well and are wondering if other bloggers witness a seasonal rise and fall in their readership . It’s understandable that the warmer weather takes people outdoors and away from their computers and if that is all there is to it , great , however we are a bit concerned that perhaps we have committed some unspoken faux pas that is causing our reader drop .
In closing we should add that we have searched the web for some sort of overall internet seasonal traffic records and barring paying expensive fees to some of the SEO sites could find nothing much useful in the public domain . We would be very grateful for any input from our blogging community as to their own personal traffic experiences . Thanks , JG
