Sunday Marks The Premiere Of The Three Part Mini-Series “Sons Of Liberty” From The History Channel

SONS OF LIBERTY, the three-night, six-hour event, follows a defiant and radical group of young men–Sam Adams, John Adams, Paul Revere, John Hancock and Dr. Joseph Warren–as they band together in secrecy to change the course of history and make America a nation.”

” The Sons of Liberty sparked a revolution, the cast depicting them includes: Ben Barnes(The Chronicles of Narnia) as Sam Adams, a natural born leader with charisma and a penchant for mischief; Ryan Eggold (The Black List) as Dr. Joseph Warren, a doctor and man of conscience and integrity; Michael Raymond-James (Jack Reacher, Terriers, True Blood) as Paul Revere, a veteran who wholeheartedly joins forces with Sam Adams; Rafe Spall(Prometheus, Life of Pi) as John Hancock, the wealthiest man in Boston at the time; andHenry Thomas (E.T. The Extraterrestrial, Gangs of New York, Legends of the Fall) as John Adams, a lawyer and the conservative, smart cousin of Sam Adams. Additionally, Marton Csokas (Equalizer, The Lord of the Rings, Rogue) plays the ferocious General Thomas Gage who is sent to handle the colonial unrest in Boston; Emily Berrington (24: Live Another Day) as Margaret Gage; Jason O’Mara (The Good Wife, Terra Nova, Life on Mars) as General George Washington and Dean Norris (Breaking Bad, Under the Dome, Men, Women & Children) as the brilliant yet mischievous diplomat Benjamin Franklin.”

” Calling themselves the Sons of Liberty, they light the spark that ignited our revolution. While many of their names have become legendary, this group of young rebels didn’t start off as noble patriots. They were a new generation of young American men from varied backgrounds, struggling to find purpose in their lives. They were looking for equality, but they found something greater: Independence.”

Iran And Hezbollah Are Planning ‘Imminent’ Joint Invasion Of Israel’s Northern Galilee

” Senior Iranian and Hezbollah figures killed in an airstrike in Syria this weekend were likely planning an ‘imminent’ attack on Israel, security sources have claimed.

Six Iranian army chiefs died alongside five Hezbollah militants after an Israeli helicopter fired rockets at a convoy in the Golan Heights region on Sunday.

Among those killed was Iranian General Mohammed Allahdadi, as well as commander Abu Ali Tabatabai, who is known to have worked with both Hezbollah and Iran.

Today Major General Eyal Ben Reuven, a former deputy head in the Israeli Defense Forces, accused the senior military figures of meeting to plot an attack on Israel.

He added that the commanders’ decision to meet in Syria could mean that a ‘high-level’ and ‘sophisticated’ attack on Israel’s northern border is ‘imminent’.

Research group The Israel Project came to a similar conclusion, saying that the presence of Tabatabai ‘probably indicates operations aimed at overrunning Israeli border towns.’

The warnings come just a week after Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, warned that the group ‘is ready and prepared for a confrontation in the Galilee and beyond the Galilee.’ “

‘American Sniper’ Shatters Records With $90.2 Million Weekend

” “American Sniper” hit the bullseye, earning an astonishing $90.2 million in its debut weekend in wide release.

It is now on pace to upend records for the Martin Luther King holiday and for the month of January, pulling in roughly $105 million over the four-day period. It’s also a new high-water mark for director Clint Eastwood, whose previous weekend record was the $29.5 million wide release opening for 2008’s “Gran Torino.” At 84, he’s still got it.

For context’s sake, the previous top-grossing Martin Luther King weekend release was last year’s “Ride Along” with $48.6 million.

“ The movie has become a cultural phenomenon,” said Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. head of domestic distribution. “It tore apart the record book and not by a little. By an enormous amount.”

“ American Sniper” recently picked up Oscar nods for best picture and best actor for star Bradley Cooper, and the awards buzz only intensified interest in the film. The war drama was co-produced and co-financed by Village Roadshow for less than $60 million. Early projections had pegged a wide release debut in the $40 million range.”

‘American Sniper’ Makes Eastwood’s Friday With $30.5M, Can It Hit $80M By Monday?

American Sniper Box Office

” Warner Bros. is reporting Friday at $30.5M for American Sniper - not only a January opening day record, but more than any Clint Eastwood film has ever made in a weekend. With a new batch of projections released this AM, studio B.O. analysts are seeing Warner Bros.’ American Sniper clearing $80M by Monday. Warner Bros. preferred not to comment on the lofty figures, which makes sense because it’s better to get another day under your belt as the weekend progresses and projections become more exact. All over town, executives are gobsmacked by the opening traction for this movie, the highest ever in Eastwood’s career, easily beating the wide 2009 expansion of his fierce drama Gran Torino which posted a FSS of $29.5M and a final domestic B.O. of $148.1M.

A combination of standard factors can be attributed to American Sniper‘s success: its A+ Cinemascore, six Oscar noms (including best picture, actor for Bradley Cooper), Eastwood’s pedigree, Cooper’s star power and sublime performance, not to mention Warner Bros.’ generating advance word of mouth with military screenings and veteran outreach.  The studio took great care in crafting TV spots that were emotionally relate-able and could break through at this time of year when there’s an onslaught of critically acclaimed titles vying for attention. Above all, many feel that the key reason why American Sniper is clicking with crowds of all ages and pulling infrequent moviegoers out the house, is because the true story a family-man war veteran truly connects with our culture at this point in time; especially with the everyday global horrors of war so close to home. “It felt like we opened against a Marvel movie,” remarked one studio executive about American Sniper‘s presence in the market, “the people portrayed in American Sniper — these are real life heroes to people in the same way that Marvel characters are heroes to fanboys.  But it’s the Marvel concept for adults.” “

Bradley Cooper On Portraying Famed Navy SEAL Chris Kyle

” In 2012, actor Bradley Cooper called up former Chief Special Warfare Operator (SEAL) Chris Kyle to discuss the movie he was developing based on Kyle’s memoir, “American Sniper.”

” I just thought I should get on the phone with him and let him know what I was willing to do for him, and to trust me,” said Cooper, who produced and starred in the new biopic, which has a scheduled national release on Jan. 16.

Months later, the film’s screenwriter called Cooper with tragic news.

” Never did I think on Feb. 2, 2013, I would get a call from Jason Hall that Chris was murdered,” Cooper said in a Dec. 19 phone interview. “So that sure changed everything.”

Kyle and a friend, Chad Littlefield, were shot to death on a Texas shooting range by Eddie Ray Routh, a Marine veteran whom they’d taken out to help work through his post-traumatic stress.

The film pressed on, though. Directed by Clint Eastwood, the story follows Kyle through his early days as a Texas rodeo cowboy, to his time at SEAL training in 1999 and on to his four deployments to Iraq, where he racked up what’s believed to be the most confirmed kills in U.S. military history as a sniper with SEAL Team Three.

Though some, such as Washington Post reporter Terrence McCoy, have questioned the accuracy of Kyle’s stories, Cooper said he focused on making a Global War on Terror film different from what’s already been done.

Kyle’s relationship with his wife, Taya, and his difficulties reintegrating after deployment feature heavily.

” There hasn’t been a character study of a soldier that’s gone through this war that I’ve seen on film,” he said. “I liked that idea, and I thought framing it as a Western would be very interesting.”

Twenty-Nine Attempts By Female Officers On The Course, With None Passing

Marines-Female General

” Two female Marine officers who volunteered to attempt the Corps’ challenging Infantry Officer Course did not proceed beyond the first day of the course, a Marine Corps spokesperson confirms to the Free Beacon. The two were the only female officers attempting the course in the current cycle, which began Thursday in Quantico, Virginia.

With the two most recent drops, there have been 29 attempts by female officers to pass the course since women have been allowed to volunteer, with none making it to graduation. (At least one woman has attempted the course more than once.) Only three female officers have made it beyond the initial day of training, a grueling evaluation known as the Combat Endurance Test, or CET. Male officers also regularly fail to pass the CET, and the overall course has a substantial attrition rate for males.

The Marine Corps spokesperson, Captain Maureen Krebs, told the Free Beacon that the two officers, “did not meet the standards required of them on day one in order to continue on with the course.” Fifteen male officers also did not meet the standards. Of the 118 officers who began the course, 101 proceeded to the second day.

The Marine Corps, along with the other services, has been evaluating how to comply with the order to gender-integrate its combat arms specialties by the end of this year, or apply for special exemptions.

The results of the Marine Corps’ experimentation thus far has revealed a pattern: Female enlisted Marines have been able to graduate from the enlisted School of Infantry’s Infantry Training Battalion in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, though at a lower rate than male enlisted Marines, while female officers have faced great difficulty in graduating from the course in Quantico. “

The Mohammed Cartoons – Everyone Should Flood the Web With Them

by VERONICA COFFIN on JANUARY 8, 2015

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

” We will not be subjugated by radical Islam – period. The Jihadists can pound sand. Today’s murder of Charlie Hedbo, the Mohammed cartoonist and 11 others at a French media outlet, was a sad and horrific event. I watched as a cop pleaded for his life and was executed, cold-bloodily by an Islamist. 15 others were wounded. As my friend Zombie put it aT PJ Media: “Today’s terror attack on Charlie Hedbo, the irreverent French satirical magazine that was one of the few media outlets in France to publish the original “Mohammed cartoons,” is an attempt by Islamic fundamentalists to enforce shari’a worldwide, even on non-Muslims.” It was indeed… may Charlie find peace and bless his soul. Murdered for the crime of satire. France is now at war from within. Better clean Jihadist house and quick.  We must not let fear stop us from exercising free speech and calling out the murderers as they strike those who would raise their voices against a broken and corrupt theology and political structure. Each of us must endeavor to show these asshats the disrespect and mockery they deserve. They can’t shut all of us up – they can’t kill every one of us. I choose to not be silenced, not be cowed, not kneel before a barbaric Caliphate and its evil followers. ISIS and the rest of their Islamic cohorts can stuff it. You can kiss my ass.

You will not silence our voices. You will not invalidate the Constitution of the United States and our freedoms. You will not enslave those who will fight until the death if necessary to defeat you. I’ll dance with you right into eternity if I have to. Every Christian, every Jew, every person who gives a damn about freedom… you need to post these cartoons and yell it from the rooftops. We will not submit. Ever. I intend to post these cartoons and I reserve the right to do a two-step boogie on a Quran if I choose to. Stuff that in your hookah and smoke it.

Having said that, Zombie has published the cartoons again and has all of them on file for posterity. Zombie speaketh:

The Mohammed Image Archive, which I have hosted at zombietime since the day of the original “Mohammed cartoon crisis” back in May of 2006, has not only a full collection of the original cartoons, but more importantly the largest collection of Mohammed imagery ever assembled in the history of the world.

I hereby grant permission, and even encourage, anyone reading this to repost any images found anywhere on the Mohammed Image Archive. No limits. Repost them all, if you want to.

Go to any of these pages, download whatever images you choose, repost, and help to win the most important cultural war humanity has faced in a long time:

Without further ado, I give you a sampling of le cartoons – Bon Appetit – this is for you Charlie:

The original cartoon that started the entire controversy back in 2006, which culminated in today’s terror attack.

Illustration showing Mohammed (on the right) preaching his final sermon to his earliest converts, on Mount Arafat near Mecca; taken from a medieval-era manuscript of the astronomical treatise The Remaining Signs of Past Centuriesby the Persian scholar al-Biruni; currently housed in the collection of the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris (Manuscrits Arabe 1489 fol. 5v).

“Mohammed Cursing the Vines,” German woodcut print, c. 1481. Presumably Mohammed is cursing the vines for producing the grapes that got him drunk.

This prescient cartoon was published way back in 2006 by J.J. McCullough.

In 1928, Liebig’s Extract of Meat Company issued a series of advertising trading cards to promote its canned beef extract products. The 1928 card set illustrated six different pivotal points in Mohammed’s life. The most striking of the cards was the second one, seen here, which showed the Archangel Gabriel escorting Mohammed up to the presence of Allah in Paradise — the climax of his legendary “Night Journey.”

The Israeli magazine Nana published this picture showing the aftermath of a four-way orgy involving Jesus, Mohammed, Moses and Buddha.

“Piss Mohammed” is a parody of Andres Serrano’s “Piss Christ” that incorporates the original controversial Danish cartoon.

“Married to Children,” a parody of the TV sitcom “Married with Children,” lampoons Mohammed’s marriage to the 6-year-old Aisha. It circulated extensively on the Web in the months after the 2006 cartoon crisis.

The caption to this cartoon by Steph Bergol says, in French:
Mohammed (being carried away by devils): “It is a judicial error! I am Mohammed, the prophet!”
St. Peter (with a scimitar through his chest): “Definitely: GUILTY!”

Obama Afghan War Deaths

” Fifty-five U.S. servicemen were killed in Afghanistan in 2014, bringing the total number of American fatalities in the 13-year war to 2,232, according to a CNSNews.com database.

Of those 2,232 deaths, 1,663 – 74.5 percent – occurred since President Obama took office on Jan. 20, 2009. The deadliest years for U.S. personnel were 2010, when 495 were killed; 2011, when there were 404 casualties; and 2009 when the death toll was 306.

Those three years combined accounted for more than half, or 54 percent, of the total U.S. casualties in the war.”

‘American Sniper': Movie Review

” The best movies are ever-shifting, intelligent and open-hearted enough to expand alongside an audience. “American Sniper,” Clint Eastwood’s harrowing meditation on war, is built on this foundation of uncommon compassion.

Helping Eastwood carry out his tricky mission is an outstanding performance by Bradley Cooper, who plays Navy SEAL Chris Kyle.

An easygoing Texas rodeo rider, Kyle impulsively signs up for military duty after a career-busting injury. On his first tour, he finds himself stationed on a rooftop in Fallujah, forced to decide whether the Iraqis in his crosshairs are terrorists or innocent civilians. This will become his surreal reality for the next several years, as he discovers a formidable gift for marksmanship.

His ability to pick off enemies earns the attention of his local counterpart, a rebel appropriately called “the Butcher.” Kyle isn’t remotely intimidated by the bounty on his head; in fact, whenever he’s not situated above the city, he hits the ground, fearlessly leading door-to-door searches that only increase his reputation among other troops.”

Terrorist Killer US Military GAU 19B 50 Cal Gatling Gun

Published on Oct 27, 2014

” Another great weapon for the US military and us army. Could prove useful in combating terrorists in Iraq and Syria. The GECAL 50, officially designated by the United States military as the GAU-19/A, is an electrically driven Gatling gun that fires the .50 BMG (12.7×99mm) cartridge.

Technical specifications

The GAU-19/A is designed for a linkless feed, but can be fed from a standard M9 linked belt if a delinker feeder is used. The rate of fire is selectable to be either 1,000 or 2,000 rounds per minute. The Humvee armament kit version fires at 1,300 rounds per minute. The average recoil force when firing is 500 pounds-force (2.2 kN). In January 2012, General Dynamics announced they would be delivering a new version designated the GAU-19/B. It provides the same firepower in a lighter platform, weighing 106 lbs.[1]
History

The GECAL 50 was first manufactured by General Electric, then by Lockheed Martin, and now by General Dynamics. Design work began in 1982. Early prototypes had six barrels, but a three-barreled configuration is now standard. The GAU-19/A was originally designed as a larger, more potent version of the M134 Minigun. Due to the loss of nine helicopters in Grenada GE started building prototypes of the weapon in both a three-barreled and a six-barreled configuration. The six-barreled version was designed to fire 4,000 rpm, and could be adapted to fire up to 8,000 rpm. The GAU-19 takes 0.4 seconds to reach maximum firing rate.[2] Soon it was recommended as a potential armament for the V-22 Osprey.[3] The magazine would be located underneath the cabin floor and could be reloaded in-flight. However, plans to mount the gun were later dropped.[4] In 2005, the GAU-19/A was approved to be mounted on the OH-58D Kiowa helicopter. It also could have been used on the Army’s now cancelled ARH-70.[5] In January 2012, the U.S. Army ordered 24 GAU-19/B versions for use on helicopters. All were delivered by the next month.[1]

In 1999, the United States sent 28 GAU-19s to Colombia.[6] Oman is known to use the GAU-19/A mounted on their HMMWVs. The navy of Mexico uses MDH MD-902 series helicopters with the GAU-19/A system mounted for anti-narcotics operations.[7]
Users

Colombia: Used by Drug Enforcement troops, and the Colombian national police
Japan: Used by Japan Coast Guard, on PC Kagayuki class
Mexico: Used by the Mexican Air Force and the Mexican Navy in Humvees, UH-60 Black Hawks and the MD Explorer
Oman: Used on Army HMMWV.

Gatling Gun History

The Gatling gun is one of the best-known early rapid-fire weapons and a forerunner of the modern machine gun. Invented by Richard Gatling, it is known for its use by the Union forces during the American Civil War in the 1860s, which was the first time it was employed in combat. Later it was used in the Boshin War, the Anglo-Zulu War and still later in the assault on San Juan Hill during the Spanish-American War.[1]

The Gatling gun’s operation centered on a cyclic multi-barrel design which facilitated cooling and synchronized the firing/reloading sequence. Each barrel fired a single shot when it reached a certain point in the cycle, after which it ejected the spent cartridge, loaded a new round, and in the process, allowed the barrel to cool somewhat. This configuration allowed higher rates of fire to be achieved without the barrel overheating.
History

Patent drawing for R.J. Gatling’s Battery Gun, 9 May 1865.

The Gatling gun was designed by the American inventor Dr. Richard J. Gatling in 1861 and patented on November 4, 1862.[2][3] Gatling wrote that he created it to reduce the size of armies and so reduce the number of deaths by combat and disease, and to show how futile war is.[4]
Although the first Gatling gun was capable of firing continuously, it required a person to crank it; therefore it was not a true automatic weapon. The Maxim gun, invented in 1884, was the first true fully automatic weapon, making use of the fired projectile’s recoil force to reload the weapon. Nonetheless, the Gatling gun represented a huge leap in firearm technology.

Prior to the Gatling gun, the only weapons available to militaries capable of firing many projectiles in a short space of time were mass-firing volley weapons like the French Reffye mitrailleuse in 1870–1871, or field cannons firing canister, much like a very large shotgun. The latter were widely used during and after the Napoleonic Wars. Although the maximum rate of fire was increased by firing multiple projectiles simultaneously, these weapons still needed to be reloaded after each discharge, which for multi-barrel systems like the mitrailleuse was cumbersome and time-consuming. This negated much of the advantage of their high rate of fire per discharge, making them much less powerful on the battlefield. In comparison, the Gatling gun offered a rapid and continuous rate of fire without having to manually reload by opening the breech.”

12 Dead In Attack On Paris Newspaper; France Goes On Alert

Masked gunmen stormed the Paris offices of a satirical newspaper Wednesday, killing 12 people before escaping, in France’s deadliest terror attack in at least two decades.

” France raised its alert to the highest level, and reinforced security at houses of worship, stores, media offices and transportation. Top government officials were holding an emergency meeting.

The extremist Islamic State group has threatened to attack France, and minutes before the attack Charlie Hebdo had tweeted a satirical cartoon of that extremist group’s leader giving New Year’s wishes. Charlie Hebdo has been repeatedly threatened for publishing caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad, among other controversial sketches, and its offices were firebombed in 2011.”

Boko Haram Seizes Army Base In Nigeria Town Of Baga

” The militant group Boko Haram has seized a town and key multinational military base in north-eastern Nigeria, officials and eyewitnesses say.

A senator in Borno state said troops had abandoned the base in the town of Baga after it was attacked on Saturday.

Residents of Baga, who fled by boat to neighbouring Chad, said many people had been killed and the town set ablaze.

Baga, scene of a Nigerian army massacre in 2013, was the last town in the Borno North area under government control.

It hosted the base of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), made up of troops from Nigeria, Chad and Niger.

Set up in 1998 to fight trans-border crime in the Lake Chad region, the force more recently took on Boko Haram.

Boko Haram attacks towns and villages on an almost daily basis, abducting people including young boys and girls, BBC Africa analyst Mary Harper reports.

The military, which includes Western advisers and surveillance, seems incapable of dealing with the problem, she adds.”

2014 Man Of The Year: A-10 Warthog

” There you are, an Islamic State fighter minding your own business on a crisp winter day in the suburbs of Raqqa. Perhaps it’s been a busy morning—your work on the morals patrol is always a hassle, your team leader Mahmoud will not shut up, and you hurt your hand beating that recalcitrant shopkeeper who has been selling pop music despite your stern admonitions.

Now, you’ve got to stand duty on a checkpoint just outside of town, but it’s a quiet and peaceful spot, and you can rest a bit before getting back to the wives later in the day.

Then, literally out of the clear blue sky, you hear the swelling roar of a jet engine. As you turn, there is a new, unfamiliar noise, the kind of noise an industrial steam engine would make if it could burp like Jessica Simpson. It sounds like this:” (see above)

” That is the noise that a 30-mm Gatling gun makes, firing 3,900 rounds per minute—or 65 depleted uranium slugs every second—from its mount on the U.S. Air Force’s ugly, slow, fat, and entirely irreplaceable A-10 Warthog. It is widely believed that the force of the gun firing actually slows the A-10 in flight. (Some say this is a myth—but life is more fun if some myths aren’t debunked.)

Truth be told, you didn’t actually hear that noise. See, the bullets go faster than sound. But all of your compatriots within a few miles did. They should be happy for you! For over a decade now, the A-10 has been serving in the role of an online dating service, connecting jihadists with those eager 72 virgins awaiting them in heaven. It’s a Tinder for the terrorist set.

Today, the U.S. Air Force swiped right for you. “

Who Wants To Be U.S. Army’s New Gun — Again

” The Italian gunmaker Beretta wants to be the U.S. Army’s standard-issue handgun one more time. Beretta has been supplying the Army with its M9 handgun for the last 30 years. But the Army is now looking for a new gun and is holding a contest of sorts for gun makers.

However, Beretta is not going to step aside without a fight. It is entering the competition with a new design — the M9A3.

The new gun can hold two more rounds than the M9, and has more modular features for adding accessories, like scopes and lights, according to Gabriele de Plano, vice president of military marketing and sales at Beretta, a gunmaker with a long history that has been around since 1526.

The Army’s decision to replace its current standard issue handgun is a rare and lucrative event for the gun industry. It’s been using the M9 since 1985, and the Marine Corps has used a slightly different version, called the M9A1, since 2006.”

Alone For Christmas

” Il Foglio is my favorite Italian newspaper, and I especially like the way this editorial starts:

That’s something I said in an interview with them many years ago, paraphrasing a line from America Alone:

When you look at it that way, the biggest globalization success story of recent years is not McDonald’s or Microsoft but Islamism: the Saudis took what was not so long ago a severe but peripheral strain of Islam practiced by Bedouins in the middle of a desert miles from anywhere and successfully exported it to Jakarta and Singapore and Alma Ata and Grozny and Sarajevo and Lyons and Bergen and Manchester and Ottawa and Dearborn and Falls Church…

It’s some years now since America Alone came out (although, if you’re in need of a belated Christmas gift, personally autographed copies are exclusively available from the SteynOnline bookstore). But its thesis is more timely with every passing day. And in yet another holiday season where, from Australia to France to Canada, families who’d never given a thought to Islam have had to come to terms with empty seats round the Christmas table, it is a poor consolation to a dimestore Cassandra to find my supposedly “alarmist” book cited with reference to recent events. Here is Vincent Cooper, in The Commentator, on the ability of the Sydney sheikh and his ilk to wage war against the west from within:

On the first anniversary of the July 7th London Tube bombings, the Times of London commissioned a poll of British Muslims. Here are the findings:

* 16 percent say that while the Tube bombings may have been wrong, the cause was right.

* 13 percent think that the four men who carried out the bombings should be regarded as martyrs.

* 7 percent agree that suicide attacks on civilians in the UK can be justified in some circumstances, rising to 16 percent for a military target.

As the Canadian journalist Mark Steyn points out: “There are, officially, one million Muslims in London, half of them under twenty-five. If 7 percent think suicide attacks on civilians are justified, that’s 70,000 potential supporters in Britain’s capital city.” (Mark Steyn, America Alone) “

American Sniper’ Breaks Christmas Record In Limited Release

” “American Sniper” and “Selma” — the last awards contenders to open this year — have launched impressively in their Christmas Day debuts.

Warner Bros.’ “Sniper,” starring Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller, was particularly stellar with $240,212 at four venues — breaking the all-time record for a limited release under 10 screens on Christmas Day.

It played in Dallas, Los Angeles and New York.

Clint Eastwood directed the R-rated “American Sniper” from a script by Jason Hall, based on Chris Kyle’s autobiography about his tour of duty in Iraq and his struggles as a father and husband.

Warner Bros. will expand “American Sniper” into a nationwide release on Jan. 16 — the day after Oscar nominations are announced.”
