NYC’s Michael Bloomberg Accused Of ‘Hypocrisy’ ForArming Security Detail In Gun-Free Bermuda

” Bloggers are taking New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to task, accusing him of hypocrisy for pushing strict gun control onto Americans but simultaneously seeking gun-carry exemptions for his security detail when he travels to Bermuda, where firearms are largely prohibited.

“Guns are largely forbidden in Bermuda,” writes Walter Olson, of Cato, quoting a New York Times article. “But Mayor Bloomberg of New York, one of the nation’s most famously anti-gun politicos, has a dispensation for armed bodyguards from his own NYPD.”

One blogger writes in answer to that: “Gun laws are just for the ‘little people.’ Those who command millions of dollars and political capital don’t have to obey gun laws since they can hide behind their ‘need for security’ because of said wealth and political connections.”

And another writes on the blog Weazel Zippers: Mr. Bloomberg is guilty of “hypocrisy.” The story highlights “another [case of] ‘some animals are more equal than others.’ “

7 Liberal Hypocrites Who Call For Gun Control While Being Protected By Guns

” One of the great ironies of the gun control debate is that everyone who calls for gun control still wants a man with a gun protecting him. Every governor in America has armed security. You have to go through a metal detector guarded by men with guns to get into the Capitol building. Barack Obama has hundreds of Secret Service agents carrying fully automatic weapons who protect his safety. Even run-of-the-mill Democrats who want to take guns away from everyone else will unhesitatingly pick up the phone and call the police if they feel threatened — so that a man with a gun can show up and make them safe.

Unfortunately, there are some people in this country who apparently believe they’re so special, so elite, so much better than the rest of the “riff-raff,” that they should have a right to be protected even if you don’t.”

VIDEO: 12 Men Attack Thai School – Security Guard With Gun Handels the Situation By Chris Callahan

” The video above is visual proof to the importance of the Second Amendment and the right to protect yourself with a firearm.

On March 11, a nursing school in Thailand was attacked in the early morning hours by 12 masked men wielding machetes.  The nursing school is an all female institution for local 15- and 16-year-old girls in the Buriram Province.   It is believed the motivation behind the attack was to lower moral and intimidate the all female institution.”

NY School District Suspends Police-in-Schools Program after Officer Discharges Gun (VIDEO)

” On Tuesday, a student resource officer at a high school in Lloyd, New York, accidentally discharged his sidearm while patrolling school grounds. As a result district officials have suspended the ‘police-in-schools’ program indefinitely.

Officer Sean McCutcheon, who is employed by the Highland Central School District, accidentally discharged his Glock .45 at 1:38 p.m. Tuesday at Highland High School.

While details of how McCutcheon mistakenly fired off a round are still being investigated, what is clear is that no one was injured when the gun went off.

“No students or staff were in the area when the weapon discharged, and no one was injured as a result of this accidental discharge,” Highland Central School District Superintendent Deborah Haab told reporters during a Tuesday meeting with parents and the press.

“He’s suspended pending the investigation,” Lloyd police Lt. James Janso told reporters, adding that the suspension is standard protocol given the circumstances. “

A Wise Young Man

NBC’s David Gregory Mocks NRA Chief For Proposing Armed Guards At Schools . . . Fails To Mention He Sends His Kids To School Protected By Armed Guards…

Yeah, but his kids are more important than ours.

Via Weekly Standard:

David Gregory mocked the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre for proposing that armed guards be at every school in America. But the NBC host seems to have no problem with armed guards protecting his kids everyday where they attend school in Washington, D.C.

“You proposed armed guards in school. We’ll talk about that in some detail in a moment. You confronted the news media. You blamed Hollywood and the gaming industry. But never once did you concede that guns could actually be part of the problem. Is that a meaningful contribution, Mr. LaPierre, or a dodge?,” asked Gregory.”
