Flying Car Crashes In Canada

” A “flying car” crashed today in British Columbia, Canada.

The Globe and Mail reports that the vehicle, which operates like a paraplane and looks like a hotrod with a propeller on the back, suffered a malfunction during takeoff and crash landed at a school near the Vernon airport. Authorities say it was the first incident of its kind in Canada.

The pilot and passenger suffered injuries, but are both expected to recover according to the local police. No one was on the ground at the time of the accident.

The vehicle is built in Florida and called the Maverick. It uses a four-cylinder Subaru engine to power either the propeller or the wheels, and can be used on or off road at speeds up to 100 mph on the ground. A deployable parachute allows it to take off and land from a football field length runway.”

Muslim Plotted To Kill 100,000 In Chemical Attack

Poison_Terror_Plotter

” A Muslim man arrested last month in a terror plot in New York was planning to kill as many as 100,000 people by contaminating the air or water supply in a major U.S. city, the FBI alleges.

Ahmed Abassi, 26, was studying chemical engineering at Laval University in Quebec City, reports Canada’s CBC News.

Abassi’s plan did not materialize beyond discussions, but he is also being linked to Chiheb Esseghaier, one of two Canadian residents arrested in the alleged plot to derail a Via passenger train.

CBC News said American investigators have accused Abassi of fraudulently applying for a visa to stay in the U.S. to “facilitate an act of international terrorism.”

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said in a statement that Abassi “had an evil purpose for seeking to remain in the United States – to commit acts of terror and develop a network of terrorists here, and to use this country as a base to support the efforts of terrorists internationally.”

Abassi traveled to the U.S. in March, according to Canadian authorities, but did not enter the country directly from Canada. Authorities say it’s unclear how he entered the U.S.”

GLOBAL NETWORK OF HACKERS STEAL $45M FROM ATMS

” The sophistication of a global network of thieves who drained cash machines around the globe of an astonishing $45 million in mere hours sent ripples through the security world, not merely for the size of the operation and ease with which it was carried out, but also for the threat that more such thefts may be in store.

Seven people were arrested in the U.S., accused of operating the New York cell of what prosecutors said was a network that carried out thefts at ATMs in 27 countries from Canada to Russia. Law enforcement agencies from more than a dozen nations were involved in the investigation, U.S. prosecutors in New York said Thursday.

It appears no individuals lost money. The thieves plundered funds held by the banks that back up prepaid credit cards, not individual or business accounts, Lynch said.

There were two separate attacks in this case, one in December that reaped $5 million worldwide and one in February that snared about $40 million in 10 hours with about 36,000 transactions. The scheme involved attacks on two banks, Rakbank in the United Arab Emirates and the Bank of Muscat in Oman, prosecutors said.”

Video: Canada, Mexico Fight In Bench-Clearing Baseball Brawl

” At the World Baseball Classic game between Mexico and Canada on Saturday, the 9th inning devolved into an all-out brawl after Mexican pitcher Arnold Leon struck Canadian hitter Rene Tosoni with a fastball.

The benches for both teams cleared and several punches were thrown. While the melee in the middle of the crowd couldn’t be seen by the cameras, some other fights between players soon broke out. At one point, a Mexican player was on his back as a Canadian began pummeling him with blows.”

10 Of The Greatest Fisheries

canadian-bluefin

” An 857-pound bluefin is maneuvered alongside the boat during the 1949 Tuna Cup in Nova Scotia (top), while Maureen Marazzi caught a 881-pounder in 1971 (lower right); big fish are still caught today in this northerly fishery (bottom left).”

” #1 Canadian Maritimes — Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick

Primary Species: Giant bluefin tuna

Golden Era: 1930 to 1950, 1970s. In the late 1970s, the tuna apparently changed their migration. When the Asian taste for bluefin sushi evolved during the 1980s, prices rose, an industry was born, and Canada prohibited recreational anglers from catching giants. In the past few years, the country has allowed a regulated catch-and-release fishery.

The History: During the late 1800s, harpooners began targeting giants that tangled their herring nets. Through the early 20th century, anglers started pursuing the bluefin, though they were not considered good table fare. Finally, in the 1930s, tackle makers caught up with the fishery, and IGFA founder Michael Lerner helped initiate the International Tuna Cup (Sharp Cup).

Memorable Moment: Bluefin here average 700 pounds, but they get much bigger. The current all-tackle world-record bluefin — a 1,496-pound behemoth — was caught off Nova Scotia in 1979.”

Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul Join Forces to Legalize Hemp

” Though manufacturing hemp is currently just as illegal as growing smokable pot, 10 states already have frameworks in place for industrial hemp production. The problem is that the Drug Enforcement Administration classifies all forms of hemp as a controlled substance, despite the fact that industrial hemp generally contains less than 0.3 percent THC, or anywhere between 1/6 to 1/66 the amount you’ll find in marijuana. If you tried smoking hemp, you’d exhaust yourself before you got high.

Federal regulations do not differentiate between marijuana and its non-psychoactive cousin, which is used in the production of many useful items, including clothing, rope, biofuel, construction materials, and pulp for paper products. According to David West of the North American Industrial Hemp Council, more hemp products are exported to the United States from places like China and Canada than any other nation on earth.”

Blood On The Hands Of The LEFT

” I was just about to publish my latest editorial as promised, on Canada’s Supreme Court Decision to suspend Freedom of Speech, in favor of promoting one language over all others.

THEN THE CONNECTICUT SCHOOL-SHOOTING HAPPENED.

Next to language issues in Canada, and a failed Judicial System in both of our countries, what happened in Connecticut takes precedence

.I won’t waste words describing my feelings, because how I feel about as many as, and maybe more than 26 people murdered, including 18 children is indescribable.

BUT I WILL TELL YOU WHY IT HAPPENED:It didn’t happen because of the so-called gun culture, or because of poor security at the school.

It happened because of the modern LEFTIST culture that has removed all semblances of personal responsibility and respect.

It happened because of the Hollywood and television types who lecture the Conservatives on how people should live, while they make FORTUNES producing absolute FILTH in their movies and on television programs.

It happened because of reality television shows that demean humanity. And shows that make people laugh at the pain and humiliation of others.

It happened because multi-millionaire computer game producers create UGLY digital scenarios that poison young minds with abject and gratuitous violence.

It happened because the school system doesn’t teach values, and promotes the idea that everything goes. And that all people are equal regardless of the truth. And that no one ever fails.

It happened because LEFTISTS won’t allow concerned and loving parents to discipline their children, or raise their children the way they want to.

It happened because far too many Liberals spend far too much time and effort ridiculing and attacking people who want to live by the lessons of the Bible and the Torah.

In truth . . . this and other horrible acts of violence happen, because our society from our entertainment industry, to schools, to the media, and our governments have created the social and cultural foundation that is eating away at our countries like a cancer.

I know that what I just wrote WILL inflame those on the LEFT, and that’s OK, because if they don’t like it . . . they can ROT in HELL along with the demons of their own creation.

I want my old country values back . . .

. . . when we stood in school when an adult entered the room. When we were really disciplined for bad behavior. When we were measured by our successes and failures. When not everyone had to waste years of his or her life in college studying basket weaving instead of taking a trade course, or going to work right after finishing high school. When your mom was a woman and your dad was a man. And when there weren’t vulgar parades extolling the “virtues” of being gay.

If you want to stop the sickness . . . IT’S TIME TO STOP THE LEFT.

In Sadness . . . Howard Galganov.

Canadian Youth Soccer Leagues Stop Keeping Score

” I heard about this on Red Eye Radio about an hour ago and it’s too silly to let go without comment. Some youth soccer leagues in Canada have decided not to keep score of the games or publish the standings of teams, anymore. I guess this is all part of the “helping self-esteem” movement for kids. From the Toronto Star:

Tessa’s league is one of many across the province that will stop keeping score and tabulating standings this season in an attempt to shift the focus of kids’ soccer away from winning and toward skills development.

Some leagues and age groups started last season, others will adopt the approach this year, and by 2014 it will be mandatory across Ontario for all competitive players under 12.

It’s part of a well-established, research-supported and holistic approach to player development, common in soccer-rich countries and endorsed by the sport’s brightest minds.”

An Inconvenient Truth: More Polar Bears Alive Today Than 40 Years Ago

” There are far more polar bears alive today than there were 40 years ago,” Unger told NPR in an interview about his new book, “Never Look a Polar Bear in The Eye.” “There are about 25,000 polar bears alive today worldwide. In 1973, there was a global hunting ban. So once hunting was dramatically reduced, the population exploded.”

This  from a man that had hoped to write the definitive tome on the looming extinction of said Ursus Maritimus .

” He packed up his family and moved north to Churchill, Manitoba — called the ”Polar Bear Capital of the World” because of the large amounts of bears that congregate near it in the autumn.

“My humble plan was to become a hero of the environmental movement,” Unger told NPR.”

We’ll give the man his due . Despite his preconceived notions of AGW and his admitted desire to be a ” hero ” to the greenies , he speaks of the facts as he found them and not as he had wished them to be . Additionally , he did so while visiting the very hub of leftist enviromentalism , NPR . Good for you Mr Unger … good for you , good for the polar bears and most of all good for the truth however hard it may be to come by .

Going Galt in Detroit? $300,000 to Become a Citizen of a Proposed Free-Market Utopia

” If you had the opportunity to live in a free-market utopia — complete with its own currency and government — would you do it?

Well, you just may get your chance.

While the city of Detroit continues to teeter on the brink of bankruptcy, one developer is proposing a radical and revolutionary idea to rekindle the American spirit and bring Detroit back into prosperity.

The driving force behind the plan, developer Rodney Lockwood, wants Detroit to sell the city’s Belle Isle Park for $1 billion to private investors who will then transform it into a utopia free of big government and ideally full of job creation and innovation. Belle Isle is an uninhabited 928-acre island in the Detroit River, between the U.S. and Canada.

Under the plan, the island would be developed into a U.S. commonwealth or city-state with around 35,000 people. Citizenship for the “remarkable new nation” would cost $300,000 in most cases. The community would also have its own laws, transportation, customs and currency.”

“Universal Background Checks” Could Unjustly Deny Millions Of People The Right To Armed Self-Defense

” Second Amendment supporters historically have opposed gun registration, fearing that it could ultimately lead to confiscation, something that has actually happened in places such as Canada, Great Britain, Australia, California, and New York City. While wholesale disarmament would be clearly unconstitutional in this country, confiscation of guns that legislators arbitrarily deem unnecessary or excessively dangerous is easier to imagine, especially given Obama’s support for a new, stricter ban on “assault weapons.”

Perhaps fear of confiscation seems paranoid to you. But consider what would happen if the federal government merely enforced existing law through expanded background checks and improved records—another step nearly everyone seems to think is self-evidently sensible. Such a crackdown would reveal the folly of current restrictions, which prohibit gun ownership by several absurdly broad categories of people under the threat of a five-year prison term.

One disqualifier is a felony record, whether or not the offense involved violence or even a victim. It is doubtful that check kiters, marijuana growers, or unauthorized farm workers (another banned category) are substantially more likely to go on a shooting rampage than the average person.

Federal law also bars “an unlawful user of…any controlled substance” from owning a gun. Think about that for a minute. If you smoke pot or use a relative’s Vicodin or Xanax, you have no right to keep and bear arms. Survey data indicate that nearly 40 million Americans have used “illicit drugs” in the last year, and the true number is probably higher, since people may be reluctant to admit illegal behavior even when their answers are confidential. “

Lady Gaga Bares Her Gun Rack

” Does she have a license to pack all that heat?

Lady Gaga brazenly gave a whole new meaning to the term “gun rack” this weekend when the provocative pop star wore an “assault rifle” bra during a show in Canada — despite the sensitive debate over such weapons gripping the US in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting.

Gaga looked like a musical gun moll as she strolled on stage in Vancouver wearing the outrageous outfit, which is likely to draw even more fashion criticism than the infamous “meat dress” she wore to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

Gaga wore the gun bra Friday — just a day after Vice President Joe Biden met with Congress and the NRA over curbing gun violence after the elementary-school massacre in Newtown, Conn., which left 20 kids dead. “

America’s Ranking in the 2013 Index of Economic Freedom

” When we talk about “economic freedom,” what do we mean—and why does it matter?

Economic freedom is the fundamental right of every human to control his or her own labor and property. In an economically free society, individuals are free to work, produce, consume, and invest in any way they please, with that freedom both protected by the state and unconstrained by the state.

Since reaching a global peak in 2008, sadly, economic freedom around the world has continued to stagnate.

What are the reasons for the worldwide sluggishness? As Ambassador Miller writes in The Wall Street Journal, “Particularly concerning are the rise of populist ‘democratic’ movements that use the coercive power of government to redistribute income and control economic activity.”

While “corrupt political and legal environments cause underdevelopment in poorer countries,” Miller writes, “unfortunately, economic favoritism and cronyism exist in advanced democracies, too.” Americans are well aware, and the overall U.S. score has been dropping since 2009. From 2009 to 2010, the U.S. declined from being a “free” economy to “mostly free.” This year, it ranks 10th in the world. “

So , economic freedom in the US has taken a downturn since 2009 . What came about in 2009 to cause our precipitous drop in the rankings ? Where will we being after four more years ?

” One reason for America’s lack of freedom is that its scores on regulatory efficiency—which include business freedom and labor freedom—have dropped. The editors point to the fact that “over 100 new major federal regulations have been imposed on business operations since early 2009 with annual costs of more than $46 billion.” “

Surprise , surprise … Regulation is the culprit . Who would have guessed ?

” It is no exaggeration to blame the recent slowdown in economic liberalization around the world on the lack of U.S. leadership. Trade flows—the engine of world growth—have declined as the U.S. economy has stagnated. Protectionism threatens consumers and businesses with higher costs and restrictions in supply. Ill-conceived banking regulations such as the Dodd-Frank law generate uncertainty and anxiety. And investment freedom declines in the face of higher costs and new legal and tax liabilities such as those introduced by ObamaCare. These misguided U.S. policies hurt Americans first, but others feel the harm as well. “

Lack of leadership in the ” Leader of the Free World ” is very costly , not just to Americans but to all the citizens of the world .

” Launched in 1995, the Index evaluates countries in four broad areas of economic freedom: rule of law; regulatory efficiency; limited government; and open markets. Based on an aggregate score, each of 177 countries graded in the 2013 Index was classified as “free,” “mostly free,” “moderately free,” “mostly unfree,” or “repressed.”

The broader areas are broken down into 10 measures: property rights, freedom from corruption, fiscal freedom, government spending, business freedom, labor freedom, monetary freedom, trade freedom, investment freedom, and financial freedom.

” A tsunami warning is in effect for parts of southern Alaska and coastal Canada after a strong earthquake shook the region at midnight Friday.

The warning area includes coastal areas from about 75 miles southeast of Cordova, Alaska, to the north tip of Vancouver Island, Canada, the Alaska Tsunami Warning Center said. The warning area extends for about 475 miles. “

US , UK , Australia & Canada Refuse To Sign UN’s Communications Treaty

” The US, Canada, Australia and UK have refused to sign an international communications treaty at an conference in Dubai.

The countries had objected to calls for all states to have equal rights to the governance of the internet.

But the breaking point was the addition of text relating to “human rights”.

It marks a setback for the UN’s International Telecommunication Union (ITU) which had said it was sure it could deliver consensus.

“It’s with a heavy heart and a sense of missed opportunities that the US must communicate that it’s not able to sign the agreement in the current form,” said Terry Kramer the US ambassador to the World Conference on International Telecommunications (Wcit).

“The internet has given the world unimaginable economic and social benefit during these past 24 years.”

Negotiators from Denmark, Italy, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Greece, Portugal, Finland, Chile, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Costa Rica and Kenya have said they would need to consult with their national governments about how to proceed and would also not be able to sign the treaty as planned on Friday.”

US States Less Free Than Canadian Provinces

” A new study on economic freedom in North America has concluded that some American states are less free than the provinces of our northern neighbor Canada.

“Canadian provinces now lead US states in average economic freedom, with the provincial average at 6.8 compared to 6.7 out of 10 for US states,” claims the new study by the Fraser Institute.

Topping the list of the most economically free subdivisions of North American countries is the Canadian province of Alberta, followed by Delaware, Saskatchewan, Texas and Nevada.

The Economic Freedom of North America 2012 report was calculated using ten components in three basic areas: size of government, takings and discriminatory taxation, and labor market freedom. The number one issue affecting U.S. states’ freedom is the amount of government spending. “

DHS Wants To Double US Predator Drone Fleet

” It’s in your face fascism!  Department of Homeland Security  (DHS), according to Trevor Timm at Activist Post, ”…signed a contract that could be worth as much as $443 million with General Atomics for the purchase up to fourteen additional Predator drones to fly near the border of Mexico and Canada. “

Meet Hannah Duston

” In March of 1697, Hannah Duston‘s tiny farm was attacked by a marauding band of Abenaki Indians (alternate sources say they were Mohawks, who are widely believed to be among the most badass and ruthless of all the North American Indian tribes).  The battle-raging warrior braves attacked Hannah’s husband Thomas while he was out working in the field, but he managed to run back to the farmhouse and warn his wife of the impending raid.  Unfortunately, Hannah was unable to escape – she had just given birth to a child a couple days prior, and wasn’t in any condition to be moved at this time.  Hannah, her nursemaid, and her newborn stayed behind, and she encouraged her husband to get the fuck out of there and flee with their eight other children while they still could.

Now, the fact that this woman gave birth to nine fucking kids back in a time when anesthesia involved little more than taking a swig of whiskey and biting down on a stick really hard should give you some indication of how tough Hannah Duston was.  Despite the fact that she could usually headbutt an antelope unconscious with one swing of her head, on this day she wasn’t in any position to fight off a swarming horde of pissed-off warriors, and was quickly captured and forced out of her home.  Her house was plundered and torched to the ground, and a subsequent raid on the village of Haverhill resulted in forty additional settlers being killed or captured by the Abenaki.

But Hannah’s adventure in getting worked over by the natives was just beginning.  Along with the other captives, she was forced at gunpoint to walk north towards Canada.  For several days they walked through ankle-deep snow and bitter, nut-freezing cold, traveling nearly fifty miles from Haverhill to present-day Concord, New Hampshire.  Anybody who couldn’t keep up was brained in the face with a hatchet, and when Hannah’s child wouldn’t stop crying, her captors gave the kid a post-partum abortion by smacking it against a tree (they weren’t screwing around).  By the time the party left Concord and started traveling by canoe up the Merrimack River, all that remained of the captives were Hannah, her nursemaid, and some fourteen-year old kid they’d picked up along the way. “

 Beware The Illegal Americans

” CANADA, (The Global Edition) — Governor Romney’s surprising victory in first Presidential debate between President Obama and the Governor has had a surprising effect on the United State’s neighbors to the north, North American media reports. The border police gave out a warning about “a flood of American liberals seen sneaking across the border into Canada“, which sparked calls for increased patrols to stop the illegal immigration.

Media outlets report that the possibility of a Romney Presidency has prompted the exodus among left-leaning citizens who fear they’ll soon be required to “hold down a job, hunt, pray, and agree with Bill O’Reilly.” “

Meet Dale Whitmell , stupid gunowner of the week

” A Canadian man accidentally shot himself in the forehead while trying to kill a mouse with the butt of his rifle. Dale Whitmell, 40, of Goulais River, tried to crush the rodent with his weapon at a camp near Wawa, Ontario, but didn’t know the gun was loaded. “

China benefits from Obama’s energy policies .

” More recently, however, Mr. Harper has dropped that rhetoric and hailed China as a new market for Canadian energy, particularly oil from the oil sands of Alberta. Nearly all of Canada’s oil exports
now go to the United States.

Opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline, which would take oil sands production to the American Gulf Coast, appears to be a factor in Mr. Harper’s recent attempts to
solicit China as both a customer of and investor in Canada’s energy sector. “

They got what they asked for and now have buyer’s remorse .

“2008, many allies clearly wanted change to the benefit of Mr. Obama. Some 200,000 Germans
showed up in Berlin to hear candidate Obama speak. Der Spiegel wrote favorably at the time:
“For a moment, it was plausible to think that he wanted to quickly launch a global.transformation through this crowd …” “

Four years on and the koolaid has finally worn off . What misery the world has had to endure due to the corruption of the old media and their Chauncey Gardener of an empty suit , as well as the pagan , idol-worshipping , public school indoctrinated idiot American voters .

” In contrast, Obama has spoken primarily of trade eliminating U.S. jobs. He has implied that
much wealth is ill gotten and his policies presume that capital can be allocated better by government officials than free markets, especially in the field of energy. Taxes on investment are set to increase massively in January, with the levy on dividends rising from
15% to as much as 43%.

All of this is noted abroad. The consequence is that people increasingly do business elsewhere.
They invest capital elsewhere. Countries are now more willing to seek trade agreements with
Canada than with the United States, for example. Allies have to cut deals with the bad actors in their regions. More countries
contemplate nuclear arsenals of their own. Tyrannical governments see no cost to crushing dissent violently.”
