5 Dead, 18 Wounded In Weekend Violence

 

 

 

” Five people have been killed and at least 18 others wounded — including a 12-year-old boy left in critical condition — in shootings across the city since Friday night.

The most recent fatal shooting happened around 2:10 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of South Cicero in the West Side’s Austin neighborhood, police said. Edward Jordan, 53, of the 4900 block of West Lexington, was shot in the neck and later died at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.”

Obama’s Chicago-Style IRS

 

 

 

” It’s official. President Obama is worse than Richard Nixon.

Richard Nixon’s White House had Chuck Colson compile an “enemies list” of people it believed were opposing the Nixon administration’s politics. The purpose of the list was to encourage the IRS to audit and harass those listed. The IRS refused.

Fast forward 30 years. President Obama rails against the tea party movement. His Department of Homeland Security suggested early in his administration that groups that oppose big-government spending should be looked into as possible terrorist threats. And, surprise, the IRS set up a special unit to harass tea party groups that oppose big government. Obama’s White House claims not to have sent a memo asking the bureaucrats to do this. It didn’t have to.

This is an unprecedented level of corruption. Didn’t anyone in the IRS object to these attacks? It seems like everyone involved was a willing participant in this abuse of power on the president’s behalf. This isn’t one corrupt politician wishing the IRS would annoy his “enemies.” This is a good chunk of the federal government willingly bending to the will of one politician. This is how the city of Chicago works. Everyone knows what to do without telltale memos.”

Ban On Displaying Guns At City Museums Should Be Lifted, Ald. Burke Says

 

 

“ The city’s most powerful alderman — Edward Burke (14th) — introduced an ordinance at Wednesday’s City Council meeting that would allow Chicago museums to display unloaded firearms for historical purposes.

Currently, city museums are prohibited from lawfully displaying firearms of historic value, according to the city’s long-standing gun ordinance.

Burke said Wednesday he recently learned of the “anomaly in the city code.”

“Museums are caught in a dilemma that if they have in their collections artifacts that can be defined as firearms, even though there’s historical significance to the memento, they can’t be registered in the city and can’t be displayed,” Burke said.

Burke cited the example of Major General William P. Levine, one of the very first American soldiers to liberate the Dachau concentration camp during World War II.”

Durbin, Obama Linked To Defunct Chicago Nonprofit Under Investigation

 

 

” Durbin’s relationship with Chicago’s embattled Save-A-Life Foundation began in the mid-1990s and continued for at least several years, with Durbin even being listed as a member of the foundation’s “Advisory Council,” according to the documents.

President Barack Obama also had a relationship with Save-A-Life during his tenure as an Illinois state senator and U.S. senator, meeting with the organization’s founder and earning praise from the Foundation as a legislator who was “always supportive” of its publicly-funded efforts.

The controversial non-profit is reportedly under investigation for misappropriating potential millions of dollars in taxpayer money by the Illinois Attorney General’s Charitable Trusts Bureau. 

The Save-A-Life Foundation, which received nearly $9 million in federal and Illinois state funding to teach schoolchildren CPR and the Heimlich maneuver, dissolved in 2009 but is still under investigation amid claims that it misrepresented the number of children it provided services to and of “money unaccounted for.”

“We can’t really find anywhere that there were a lot of kids that were trained. There may have been some kids, but not the claims that were made in the thousands or tens of thousands. It doesn’t seem to exist,” Illinois state Sen. Tim Bivins said last month.”

Seven Shot At Nightclub In Chicago

 

 

 

” The shooting occurred inside Mr. G’s Entertainment Center in the Gresham neighborhood after a fight broke out around 1 a.m., the Chicago Tribune reported.

Three gunmen opened fire, striking seven people. It was not clear whether the gunmen were among those shot.

Police said the incident appeared to be gang-related but the cause of the fighting and shooting was unclear, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.”

”  It was stunning for those who watched Thursday night as federal agents investigated a possible nuclear threat at Chicago’s Ogilvie Transportation Center.

CBS 2′s photojournalist Lana Hinshaw-Klann happened to be at the scene and used a cell-phone camera to record agents in action. Reporter Dave Savini looks into what agents were looking for and what they found.

Sources say the agents were members of the elite TSA VIPR team on the 5:04pm Union Pacific West line. They were carrying hand-held nuclear-detection devices that picked up a reading.”

Researcher Develops Spidey-Sense Suit

 

 

” Victor Mateevitsi, a PhD student at the University of Illinois at Chicago, is developing a wearable suit that would provide the person a sixth sense. He has even called the project SpiderSense with a nod to the Marvel comic hero.

The way the suit works is it picks up on ultra sonic reflections from objects that are coming toward it. Once it senses the object, the suit can moves the arms and legs to adapt to the object.

He has already tested it on students that he blindfolded to see if they could still have 360-degree awareness. When someone approached the person wearing the suit while blindfolded,Mateevitsi had the person throw a cardboard ninja star at them. Ninety-five percent of the time the person wearing the suit was able to sense the approaching individual.”

ABC Doing Their Part In Gun Control Debate

 

 

” In an interview with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts aired this morning, First Lady Michelle Obama recalled the tragic death of 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton who was shot and killed in Chicago after performing during the President’s Inauguration celebration in Washington D.C.

“She was caught in the line of fire because some kids had some automatic weapons they didn’t need,” the First Lady explained. “I just don’t want to keep disappointing our kids in this country. I want them to know that we put them first.”

Chicago police reported, however, that Pendleton was shot by a man who “opened fire with a handgun before fleeing in a waiting car” according to the Associated Press.

For the broadcast, ABC’s Good Morning America producers edited out the First Lady’s “automatic weapon” line.

She was standing out in a park with her friends in a neighborhood blocks away from where my kids grow – grew – up, where our house is. She had just taken a chemistry test. And she was caught in the line of fire because some kids had some automatic weapons they didn’t need. I just don’t want to keep disappointing our kids in this country. I want them to know that we put them first.”

19 Arrested At Mall, ‘Not Related’ To Boy Band Concert

 

 

” Nineteen teenagers have been arrested following a disturbance that shut down a Chicago shopping mall and left two people with minor injuries.

 

Chicago Police Officer Laura Kubiak says the teens arrested Saturday were both male and female and ranged in age from 13 to 18.

 

Most are charged with misdemeanor mob action. A 16-year-old was charged with battery of a mall security guard who was trying to evacuate the mall.”

Chicago Police Chief: Second Amendment Is A Danger To Public Safety

 

 

 

 

” Chicago’s Chief of Police, who previously blamed ”government-sponsored racism” and Sarah Palin for Chicago’s gun violence, declared that the law-ful exercise of the Second Amendment was a threat to public safety. From the Illinois State Rifle Association:

” Chicago’s embattled police superintendent dug himself deeper into a pit of controversy today by claiming that lawful firearm owners are agents of political corruption.  Appearing on a Chicago Sunday morning talk show, superintendent Garry McCarthy expressed his conviction that firearm owners who lobby their elected representatives or who donate money to political campaigns are engaged in corruption that endangers public safety.  McCarthy went on to express his belief that judges and legislators should rely on public opinion polls when interpreting our Constitution.

After totally dismissing the citizen’s right to redress grievances, McCarthy trained his constitutional wisdom on the 2nd Amendment.  Despite recent court decisions to the contrary, McCarthy opined that the 2ndAmendment limits citizens to owning smooth-bore muskets.  McCarthy went on to say that he believes that the 2nd Amendment supports mandatory liability insurance for firearm owners and the mandatory application of GPS tracking devices to civilian owned firearms.” “

” In New York and across the country, the mobs of kids – 20, 30, 40 or more — appear out of nowhere and suddenly charge a newsstand or convenience store.

They ransack, steal and wreak havoc with no consideration for customers, such as Bennett, who get in their way.

“They assemble, they do whatever it is that they’re going to do, and then they disassemble in a matter of minutes,” said Jon Shane, assistant professor of criminal justice at John Jay College. “By the time somebody recognizes what is happening or is injured, if the police are able to respond, it’s slow.”

Teens have destroyed the newsstand on 57th Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues so many times that the manager has been forced to shut down completely in the afternoon so he doesn’t lose any more money.”

Mexican Drug Cartels Gain Foothold In 1,286 US cities

 

 

 

 

 

” An investigation by the Examiner reveals that in the current raging controversy over guns in America, the Obama administration and gun control proponents among Congressional Democrats and other gun ban activists have carefully avoided dealing with what is now one of the top driving forces behind gun violence in America — Mexican drug cartels.

The cartels have gained a foothold in every major city in the United States — 1,286 cities to be exact. Law enforcement officials across the country confirm that most of the gang violence that occurs in major cities is perpetrated by illegal alien criminals who operate as the foot soldiers on the front lines for the Mexican drug cartels.”

 

   The Obama administration provides the cartels with weapons and refuses to secure our border to keep them out . They in turn create a major portion of the gun violence in our cities which he can then use as an excuse to curtail or even take away entirely our basic rights , and to top it all off we are now told that these people “need” a pathway to citizenship which means also a ticket on the government “Freebie Express” all at the expense of the American taxpayer .

 

” In September of 2012, the head of the Chicago division of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) told the Blaze that Mexican drug cartel street gangs are so deeply embedded in Chicago, for example, that the agency must treat the city as if it is on the southern border. At least three rival cartels are operating in the streets, he said, and much of the blame for the city’s horrific gun violence can be traced directly to the illegal Mexican gangs — a fact that is never reported in the mainstream media or by the Obama administration.

Further, the Department of Justice (DOJ) admitted in a report on Jan. 13, 2013 that Mexican drug cartels are now operating in a whopping 1,286 American cities.

Yet the DOJ is the very agency at the center of the biggest political scandal in U.S. history – the Fast and Furious scandal during which the Obama administration deliberately placed 2,500 firearms, many of which were military grade, directly into the hands of Mexican drug cartels. Although the types of weapons bought by straw purchasers for the ATF were not fully automatic, the cartels did, indeed, get fully automatic firearms, machine guns, grenades, missile launchers, and other military weapons from the State Department under Hillary Clinton.”

Gun Problem or Fatherless Problem?

 

 

 

 

” The face of gun violence is not Sandy Hook. It is Chicago.

In 2012, President Barack Obama’s adopted hometown had 506 murders, including more than 60 children. Philadelphia, a city that local television newscasters frequently call ‘Killadelphia,” saw 331 killed last year. In Detroit, 386 people were murdered.

Since 1966, there have been 90 school shootings in the U.S., with 231 fatalities. Yes, Sandy Hook shocked us. But the odds of a child being killed at a school shooting are longer than the odds of being struck by lightning.

Of the 11,000 to 12,000 gun murders each year, more than half involve both black killers and black victims, mostly in urban areas and mostly gang-related. The No. 1 cause of preventable death for young black men is not auto accidents or accidental drowning, but homicide.

 

Dads disappeared. Or, more precisely, to use Bill Cosby’s term, the number of “unwed fathers” exploded.

In 1965, Daniel Patrick Moynihan wrote “The Negro Family: A Case for National Action.” At the time, 25 percent of blacks children were born out of wedlock, a number Moynihan called alarming. Fast forward to the present, 72 percent of black children are now born out of wedlock. In fact, 36 percent of white children are born out of wedlock. Of Hispanic children, 53 percent are born outside of marriage. “

Flu Outbreak Puts Chicago-Area Hospitals On Bypass

 

 

 

 

” January 8, 2013 (CHICAGO) (WLS) – The flu outbreak in the Chicago area seems to be getting worse with some hospitals telling ambulances to take patients elsewhere.

Tuesday morning, at least three Chicago-area hospitals remained on bypass. Northwestern Memorial, University of Chicago and Swedish Covenant were asking ambulances to pass them by, if they could do so safely, because so many people are flooding into their emergency rooms with the flu.

“It can get very busy at any hospital in the winter — especially if there’s a lot of influenza because of that problem,” said Dr. Robert Feldman, Cook County Hospital.

Eight local hospitals were on bypass for at least part of Monday night.

“He was coughing a lot during the past week. Not sure what’s going on,” said Keo Thach. “
