Chick-fil-A Gives Free Food To Motorists Stranded In Southern Snowstorm

” Some of the drivers had been stuck in their cars for nearly seven hours without any food or water. So the staff of the Chick-fil-A decided to lend a helping hand.

We cooked several hundred sandwiches and stood out on both sides of 280 and handed out the sandwiches to anyone we could get to – as long as we had food to give out.”

The staffers braved the falling snow and ice, slipping and sliding, as they offered hot juicy chicken breasts tucked between two buttered buns. And Chick-fil-A refused to take a single penny for their sandwiches.

The meal was a gift – no strings attached.

For the frozen drivers, it was manna from heaven.

“ They were very excited and extremely thankful,” she said. “People were thankful to get something to put in their stomachs.”

Audrey said they were especially surprised that the sandwiches were free. Why not make some extra money during the storm? It’s not like anyone could go to another restaurant. Chick-fil-A had a captive crowd of hungry customers. So why did they give away their food? “

Soldier Who Read Conservative Books Now Faces Charges

” A member of the U.S. Army Band who said he was reprimanded for having anti-Obama bumper stickers on his personal car, serving Chick-fil-A sandwiches at a party and reading books written by conservative authors like Sean Hannity is now facing Article 15 charges – which cropped up shortly after he went public with his complaints.

Master Sgt. Nathan Sommers, a decorated soloist with the Army Band, is being charged under a federal law that permits commanding officers to conduct non-judicial proceedings for minor offenses.”

CCTV Of Family Research Council Shooting

” On August 15. 2012 at 10:46 a.m., Floyd Corkins entered the lobby of Family Research Council armed with a loaded semi-automatic pistol, 100 rounds of ammunition, and 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches. FRC building manager Leo Johnson was temporarily manning the front desk at our Washington headquarters when a now-confessed terrorist intent on killing everyone in the building entered with a handgun and 100 rounds of ammunition. As he drew his gun, Leo courageously charged the attacker into oncoming gunfire. Even after sustaining a direct hit to his forearm, he subdued the attacker and wrestled the gun away from him.

Why did confessed terrorist Corkins choose Family Research Council as a target for his attack? In an FBI interrogation, Corkins admitted he found his target from the Southern Poverty Law Center’s list.”

“Black Bishop Issues The Call: Get Out Of The Democrat Party “

“There is a fantastic conservative page on Facebook called The BlackSphere that is run by Kevin Jackson, a strong conservative (who happens to be a black man). “

Jackson points to this at Godfather
Politics, posted by Dave Jolly:

” Bishop Earl Walker Jackson Sr.
(E.W. Jackson) has issued a plea
for all Christians to leave the
Democratic Party. Like Barack Obama, Jackson is a graduate of Harvard Law School . Unlike Obama, Jackson served in the U.S. Marine Corps and knows what it really means to serve your country.
Following law school, he was a
practicing attorney for 15 years
in Boston. During his time in
Boston, he served as chaplain
for the Boston Red Sox for 5
years and as a Protestant
chaplain for the Boston fire
department. He was involved
with The Samaritan Project to
help churches that had been
damaged by arson.

In 1998, Jackson was ordained as a bishop and head of Exodus
Faith Ministries in Chesapeake,
Virginia. In his plea for Christians to
make an exodus from the
Democratic Party, Jackson
refers to the Party as cult-like
and cites the following reasons
for his statement and actions:

Pro-abortion

Rejection of biblical family
model and values

Open hostility to anyone
who expresses their
Christian values including
Dan Cathy of Chick-fil-A
and Olympic gold medal
gymnast Gabby Douglas

Actions taken against cities
and towns for displaying
crosses at memorials

Actions taken against
anyone who invokes the
name of Jesus during
prayers at official events”

  Come Clean Harry ,

” More curiously, Romney has come out and said Reid’s accusations against him are BS. But Reid has yet to comment on whether he’s a pederast.

Again, I have no proof Senator Harry Reid has a strange sexual attraction to young boys or whether he’s acted on his perversion, I’m just relaying what I’ve heard. Sen. Reid said, in the great liberal tradition of Republicans being guilty until proven innocent, it’s up to Romney to prove he paid taxes (even though the IRS seems strangely satisfied that he has). Under that thinking, it’s up to Sen. Reid to prove he isn’t a serial pederast . “

Barone on the “Dead” Tea Party

” But there’s a pattern here that the big liberal press has been reluctant to recognize: Candidates from the GOP establishment are
getting knocked off by challengers with less name recognition, far less money, and the support of the Tea Party movement. The Tea Party was supposed to be dead and gone, you know .”

What do Chick-Fil-A and the Tea Party tell us about the American left?

Powerline’s Scott Johnson

” According to one account, Chick-fil-A’s corporate headquarters told its outlets to expect a 15 to 20 percent increase in business
yesterday, while the actual increase may be closer to something like 200 percent. I suspect that Chick-fil-A’s business is going to enjoy a
permanent step-up in business as a result of the Left’s attack. This makes all the more hilarious
Michael Hiltzik’s Los Angeles Times column the other day (I’m linking it here since nobody reads the LA Times any more, and no wonder) saying that Chick-fil-A’s owner Dan Cathy made a business mistake by speaking his mind on traditional marriage: “

Hot Air Reports

@dancathy just called me. #ChickFilA has already set a world record today, with 7 more hrs to go in the West. #OutOfChicken

— Rick Warren (@RickWarren) August 2, 2012

Not a word about today’s activities has been whispered on Chick-fil-A’s feed even though CFA has been trending on Twitter off and on all day. As noted in the earlier post, the suspicion is that the company’s lying low about what’s happening in order to extricate itself from the front line of the culture war, but I wonder if today’s outpouring will draw some sort of recognition tomorrow. If Dan Cathy’s willing to tout the numbers to Rick Warren, presumably an official acknowledgment and thank you is on the way.”

DC Caller

” Wednesday, Aug. 1 marks a new phase in the rule of Obamacare: The first day that private companies will be mandated to provide contraceptive services to their employees through the company-provided health insurance policy, regardless of whether those services are contrary to the employer’s religious beliefs.

So, of course, Wednesday, Aug. 1 is a big day for the left. Or at least it should have been.

But instead of dancing in the streets, praising the president for liberating women from the iron rule of the pope, over half a million people have confirmed online that they are going to Chick-fil-A, with many more who didn’t tell Facebook that they were going, but probably will anyways.”

And on the 7th day , we rest

” Chick-fil-A Inc., the Atlanta-based fast-food chain feuding with gay-rights advocates over some executives’ stance on marriage, has
served up two hidden billionaires.”

One can’t argue with their business model .

” Chick-fil-A generated $492 million in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization on revenue of $1.12 billion in 2011, PrivCo said. It added that the
company’s 44 percent Ebitda margin was “virtually unheard of in the restaurant industry.

The chain has the biggest sales per unit in fast-food, according to QSR Magazine. In 2011, the company generated gross sales of $
2.9 million per location, outpacing the average unit sales of runner-up McDonald’s Corp. (MCD) by $400,000, the magazine said
in its August 2012 issue. ”

And they do it with 15% less operating hours .

” “It is a very impressive business story,” said Sam Hamadeh, CEO of PrivCo, in a telephone interview. “Whatever people think of the politics, when you look at how
we quantify the amount of money they are forgoing every year by being closed on Sundays, you have to respect that.” ”

You have to respect people that put their faith ahead of their pocketbooks .

Boycott away leftist haters . No matter what you do , the Cathys will sleep well .

” CNN has apologized for what it says “was a poor choice” of music to accompany a news story.
The story was about Fox News
contributor and former GOP VP
candidate Sarah Palin , who was visiting a local Chik-Fil-A fast food restaurant.

The song was “Stupid Girls,” by Pink. Some viewers noticed the correlation, and complained vocally.

The Hollywood Reporter received a statement from CNN apologizing for the incident, which it says was not intentional. “

Clarice Feldman has a great piece about our “super genius” Wile E Coyote president , his continual exploding cigar moments and the desperate attempts by his toadies in the media to cover his a..

Even to the point of fabricating scandal out of whole cloth . See for example Chick-fil-A . Read the whole story .

” While the story contains tons of material defending traditional Christian teachings on sexuality, the controversial entrepreneur never talks about gay rights or gay marriage. Why? Because he wasn’t
asked about those issues in the interview.

   As the talented ElizabethScalia observes:

Read Mattingly’s whole piece, wherein he addresses the whole “well, they may not have said it but it’s what they meant, so what’s the big deal?” angle.

The big deal is simply this: the press put aside context and decided to paint this company as some radically-religious-gay-hating-entity and then let the forces of anger, hate and spite have their way with it.

The truth is, one can be a Christian and still be sympathetic to some parts of the so-called “gay agenda” without signing on
in toto. One can disagree on the issue of gay marriage – based on scripture, or thousands of years of tradition, or on natural law  without actually hating
anyone.

But the right to principled opposition is being erased, quickly, and the press is doing all it can to help erase it. We are losing the
right to say, “I don’t think the same way you do; my opinions are different.”

That matters, a lot.

This is our mainstream press – the people charged with the public trust – and it has moved beyond advocacy and into “search
and destroy” mode.[/quote]

Bear in mind that not only did the company’s CEO never discuss gay marriage with the reporter, but also there’s never been even a
suggestion that the company-known for its fine product, excellent service and outstanding
community welfare efforts and employee relations-has discriminated in any way against
gays. “

Mark Steyn offers his take-out on the Chicago Chick-fil-A kerfuffle .

“The city’s mayor, Rahm Emanuel, agrees with the Alderman: Chick-fil-A does not represent “Chicago values” – which is true if by “Chicago values” you mean machine politics, AIDS- conspiracy-peddling pastors and industrial-scale black youth homicide rates. But, before he was mayor, Rahm Emanuel was President Obama’s
chief of staff. Until the president’s recent “evolution,” the Obama administration held the same position on gay marriage as Chick-fil-A. Would Alderman Moreno have denied Barack Obama the right to open a chicken restaurant in the First Ward? Did Rahm Emanuel quit the Obama administration on principle? Don’t be ridiculous. Mayor Emanuel is a former ballet dancer, and when it’s politically necessary he can twirl on a dime. “

Support Chick-fil-A

  Michael Barone on that hypocrisy

” Conservatives like Malkin and libertarians like megablogger Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit are not the only ones who are outraged by this; so are the liberal editorial writers of the Boston Globe . Their point is simple, and based on Supreme Court rulings: it’s wrong and
unconstitutional under the First Amendment for government to deny business licenses because
of an applicant’s speech and beliefs.

As the Globe rightly notes, “If the mayor of a conservative town tried to keep out gay-friendly Starbucks or Apple, it would be an outrage.”

As a conservative on most issues and a supporter of same-sex marriage, I find it fascinating that liberal politicians are so ready to
clamp down on others’ speech.”
