Giving Thanks for Community: Heroes Emerge Amid Hurricane Sandy’s Wrath

” Throughout this tragedy, the response of churches, community organizations, and neighbors was inspiring. Volunteers stationed near one closed FEMA office continued to hand out supplies. While thousands of families remained without temporary housing or heat two weeks after the disaster, in even the earliest days of the tragedy, residents north of 40th Street in Manhattan who still had power took in people who had lost theirs.

Church community halls and gyms teemed with donations that had been rushed in from across the country. These included more than 2,500 boxes of coats, winter clothes, diapers, and other supplies from Mormon congregations in D.C. and surrounding areas, which hundreds of volunteers sorted and loaded into five 26-foot trucks.

The immediate responses of neighbor-to-neighbor outreach in the first hours of the disaster were nothing short of heroic. In the devastated Belle Harbor community of New York City, one man created a lifeline from twine, rope, extension cords, and lamp cords that families clung to as they escaped from a raging fire through torrential flood waters in the streets. Another man moved through chest-high waters, shepherding two women—with a toddler on his shoulders—to safety.

Another Belle Harbor resident, who was out of the state when the hurricane hit, drove for 20 hours to the devastated community in his truck, which was loaded with generators, pumps, and supplies that he had maxed out his credit card to purchase “

“American Aurora”

New York Sun on the usual blame bandwagon that follows evilness in America and the average citizen’s higher sense of reason .

” Details of this crime were still coming over the wires when statements and editorials started calling for the weakening of the Bill of Rights. Some want to impose new ratings codes, or worse, to deal with Hollywood’s penchant for violence and gore. Others are blaming the violence on the separation of church and state that has permitted the rise of a strong streak of secularism in America. Still others are reacting to the killings at Aurora with calls to weaken the Second Amendment, which protects the right to keep and bear arms. Mayor Bloomberg and the Times jumped right in on this. The Daily News actually asserted that, because President Obama and Governor Romney have shown some deference to the Second Amendment, they were standing at the killer’s side “as he sprayed bullets and buckshot into a crowded movie theater”

Just unbelievable , but then again , we are in the era of “Hope & Change”

“The following is NOT a work of fiction. It did take place. It took place in the most liberty rich country in the history of the world. It didn’t happen in one of the old Soviet Eastern Bloc nations. It didn’t happen in Cuba or Venezuela. It didn’t happen in Iran. It happened here, in the United States of America.”

This is how citizens desiring to inquire about their own PUBLIC servants are treated nowadays , read on .

“Let me first begin by telling you about a man that I have come to know over the last week. Larry Keller is just a normal guy. He’s an average, hard working American trying to live his life the best way that he knows how. He operates a consulting business out of his home in Asheville, North Carolina. He cares about his country and he believes, like most of us here, that Americans have the right to question those in government that we may disagree with.

Over a month ago, when the EPA’s Al Armendariz “crucify” comments reached a boiling point, Keller began to inquire as to how he could contact Mr. Armendariz.  Larry didn’t agree with his statements about the oil and gas industries and felt compelled to contact him by email. Like I said before, we all believe that we have that right.

Keller tried Googling Armendariz’s name to find his contact information, he ended up on a website that led him to contact, by email, a man by the name of Dr. David Gray who is the Director of External Affairs for the EPA. Larry Keller, average American, wrote a one sentence email to Dr. Gray which stated simply:

“Hello Mr. Gray-Do you have Mr. Armendariz’s contact information so we can say hello?”

That’s it. That’s all he said. He never heard back from Dr. Gray and I assume he went about his average life like anyone else would.

Then a little over a week after the Armendariz comments became public knowledge, on May 2nd to be exact, Larry Keller was visited by two individuals along with a uniformed Asheville Police Officer. The following is what transpired:”

Be sure and read the rest , and check your six .

To the Left , truth is what they say it is . How ironic to have not one but two high profile cases of false impersonation at the same time .

Delicious .

What a difference a few years makes . While the traditional “gatekeepers” find their power , influence and profitability circling the bowl , the new media , embodied by the citizen journalist has donned the mantle of journalistic integrity and run with it .

To the benefit of us all .

Breitbart reports:

“MSNBC’s unofficial web-branch known as Politico, couldn’t move fast enough to dismiss our story about the possibility that as a grown adult, President Obama, or those around him, might have had faked his biography Elizabeth Warren-style. To Politico, of course, that’s not news. The backgrounds of private citizens supporting
Governor Romney, however, elicits all kinds of time, attention, manpower, and publicity from Politico’s wretched left-wingers.”

In the Left’s collective mind the only limits to acceptable behavior are what the tell us they are and so there will be no inquiry into their fellow travelers but even private citizens who dare to voice dissent are targeted for destruction .

When they have no cards they toss the table and cry foul . Since 2008 they have exhausted their race trump card and now fall back on the “politics of personal destruction” .

Reeks of desperation ….

Economists : Recession Taught Wasteful Spenders the Value of Saving

” Americans are putting money away at a pace more than double that leading up to the economic slump. The saving rate has averaged 4.8 percent since June 2009, when the 18-month contraction ended,
compared with 2.2 percent in the three years leading up the downturn. “

Good day to you all . I write this first about us type post with the intention of self-aggrandizement …. Whoa now , just a second you say … But its not what you think . I speak for the promotion of our new website and not of myself . I’ll leave the self promotion to the denizens of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
As our blog readership grows it is hoped that the growth will manifest itself in visibility for our project. The blog was started as a way for us to supply the site’s editorial page with content on a minute to minute basis without the hassle of constantly updating the site .
It is working well in all respects but one ; a great deal of our readership is viewing us at the WordPress blog address and it would be much more productive for us if you viewed our posts from the website , thus building our exposure to the wider world of the web .

We need video submissions to get the site rolling and to capture and hold  people’s interest . Please if you or your friends have first person vids of importance tell them about us .
We are very excited about the ” sunshine project ” as we call it , but we can’t succeed without viewer input . Spread the word and help us spread the light . Thanks , JG
