” With the April 15 deadline for gun registration under the SAFE Act fast approaching, estimates indicate over 90 percent of gun owners have yet to comply.
Making matters worse for elected officials–and Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) in particular–is the fact that many law enforcement officers at various levels have openly stated that they will not enforce SAFE Act requirements.
According to BearingArms.com, while the state waits for the “registration of 1 million firearms designated as ‘assault weapons’ under the NY SAFE Act,” leaks believed to be coming from within the New York State Police indicate the number registered to date is “as low as…3,000-5,000 firearms.“
This is figure is impossible to verify beyond a shadow of doubt because a provision in the SAFE Act forbids law enforcement from releasing registration figures. “
More on this proud NY moment here
” Connecticut State Police feel compelled to remind citizens that it is their duty under the state’s draconian new citizen control laws to register their most effective self-defense firearms and standard capacity magazines for more efficient future government confiscation:
The state police have sent a reminder for gun owners that an important deadline is looming for two key parts of this year’s gun control law.
Owners of guns classified as assault weapons must get assault weapon certificates by Dec. 31. They must submit an application for a certificate by that date along with proof that they bought the weapon before the law took effect April 4.
Owners of magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds face the same Dec. 31 deadline. They too must submit an application form along with proof they owned the magazine before the law took effect. Note, even though the law allows people to keep their already-owned large-capacity magazines if they register them, it forbids loading them with more than 10 rounds at a time except in their homes or at a shooting range.
Reason suggests that the state has sent out this “reminder” because the supermajority of citizens are ignoring the blatantly unconstitutional registration law, just as Americans have historically chosen to ignore previous registration laws. American citizens have apparently never complied by registering more than 25% of those firearms that were required to be registered by law (Illinois handgun registration in the 1970s was the dubious high-point), and at least 90-percent of Americans in other states ignore these more blatant citizen control laws designed to do little more than weaken citizens before the power of the government.”
” I think that we should be men first, and subjects afterward. It is not so desirable to cultivate a respect for the law, so much as for the right.”

” Since 1938, The state Constitution has required a proposed bill to age for three days before a vote. It says:
§14. No bill shall be passed or become a law unless it shall have been printed and upon the desks of the members, in its final form, at least three calendar legislative days prior to its final passage….
Unless the government says so:
…unless the governor, or the acting governor, shall have certified, under his or her hand and the seal of the state, the facts which in his or her opinion necessitate an immediate vote thereon,…
” From Silicon Valley to the South Pacific, counterattacks to revelations of widespread National Security Agency surveillance are taking shape, from a surge of new encrypted email programs to technology that sprinkles the Internet with red flag terms to confuse would-be snoops.”
” Policy makers, privacy advocates and political leaders around the world have been outraged at the near weekly disclosures from former intelligence contractor Edward Snowden that expose sweeping U.S. government surveillance programs.”
” “Until this summer, people didn’t know anything about the NSA,” said Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University co-director Amy Zegart. “Their own secrecy has come back to bite them.”

Thousands Remove Barricades At WWII Memorial; Palin, Cruz, Others Lead “Tear Down These Walls” Chants
” Thousands of protesters have arrived at the World War II memorial this morning to protest the closure of the memorials during the government shutdown. The protestors have removed the barriers and have entered the monument.”
” Senators Mike Lee – Utah and Ted Cruz – Texas as well as Sarah Palin were among the crowd that chanted “Tear down these walls” and sang patriotic songs according to local news coverage from WTOP, as the barriers were removed.”
” Frustrated veterans and their families pushed through the barricades at the World War II memorial to protest the political stalemate between the Senate and the House of Representatives. Veterans then moved to the Lincoln Memorial, according to All-News 99.1 reporter Heather Curtis, where they were once again met by barricades.”
The People have had enough of the “Barry-cades” , that’s for sure .
Dana Loesch reports on the march and here is another report from Fox News …
” If you were relying on the usual cable news channels, you probably wouldn’t even know this was happening today, but the much anticipated veterans’ march on DC has been well under way for a while now. At least the local news is covering it
The group was upset with the closure of memorials in Washington due to the shutdown stalemate. The original WWII protest was organized by the Million Vet March group, but took on a more political tone.”
As Jim Hoft reports , veterans took down the barry-cades from the Lincoln Memorial and relocated them at the White House where they more properly belong .
This report from PJMedia’s Tattler which includes numerous photos will give you a better idea of what is going on in DC . As you can see in all the tumult of the shutdown Benghazi and the men who gave their lives there are not forgotten .
Update 15:35 est : The Blaze has a report with photos and video of the NPS showing up in riot gear complete with mounted Troopers and armored cars .
We’ll continue to bring you more information as it becomes available to us .
Here’s another choice photo , this one from Frontpage magazine . Note the mounted troops in the background and the officer with all the flex-cuffs in the foreground . Did anyone see any of this sort of preparation at the Illegal Alien rally on the Mall earlier in the week ? We didn’t think so …
Shame on US …
Here’s a live feed from the rally via Ustream
Americans All Over The Country Storm The Barricades Around Federal Monument And Parks In Defiance Of Closure
” As the shutdown settles uncomfortably into its second week, fed-up American’s across the nation are ignoring the federal government’s inability to get its house in order by defying barricades preventing them visiting national monuments, parks or malls.”
” Civil disobedience is becoming more common and the sight of veterans pushing through gates to pay their respects at the World War II Memorial or even a little boy unable to go to the zoo has left the Obama administration in an awkward position.”
“As thousands continue to visit national parks and others proudly post pictures to Twitter and Instagram of their alleged ‘trespassing’, one picture in particular has tugged at the heart and been held up as a symbol of the maddening gridlock on Capitol Hill.”
” In Yorktown, Virginia, scene of the Battle of Yorktown, where George Washington decisively beat the British, the Carrot Tree Kitchens Restaurant is also refusing to close.”
” Visitors to the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center posted pictures of themselves on Twitter tagged ‘Catch Us If You Can.’ “
” Some other citizens – even in the face of obstacles – refused to back down. An estimated 1,000 hikers and bikers entered Acadia National Park in Maine on Monday, bypassing barricades and signs declaring the park and its roads closed, according to local media reports.”
Here are a few random shots of other acts of civil disobedience at our parks.
Here are some videos of our intrepid citizenry taking back what is theirs .
” What started out as a proposal for a few people to march into Washington D.C. with loaded rifles is now becoming a call for widespread civil disobedience and defiance of government authority.
Since the beginning of his activism, Kokesh has been very outspoken about his message and has not cowered in the face of government or any form of authority. In 2011, he was body-slammed and choked by by officers at the Jefferson Memorial when he and several others decided to have a “dance-off” in defiance of the no dancing regulations that has been put in place at the memorial. He has also been arrested in his underwear at a TSA airport checkpoint, worked with Mark Dice and Luke Rudkowski in confronting the Federal Reserve police, and participated in several “smoke down prohibition” events.
It was recently announced that Kokesh is organizing one of the most controversial acts he has attempted during his time as an activist. He is planning an Open Carry march in Washington, D.C. in which he and several other participants will be armed with loaded rifles and walk through the streets of Washington.”—
Hi everyone, Just a few updates, thoughts and some info:
1. Gov Cuomo….can you hear us now?
2. I am humbled, grateful and thankful for your encouragement and support. When I spoke on the floor I was doing my job debating a really bad bill and fighting what I knew was an attack on the 2nd amendment. I had no idea how many people were watching all over the nation that would get involved but you were and you did! Thank you for giving me the encouragement to carry on. I’m honored to be there fighting for our rights and giving you a voice.
3.Congratulations to Erie Co. and Wayne Co. for passing resolutions today. We add them to the map tomorrow! Impressive because the Governor was in Erie Co. today and they still passed it.
4. Please see below and visit and like the NY SAFE Act Resolutions page. Evan Hempel, a town council member in Clermont started the page and is trying to keep track of everything. We’re working together rather than duplicating our efforts and sharing as much information as we can to keep you up to date.
5. We don’t consider a resolution passed until it is voted on and passed by the full legislature. Often what’s being reported is that a resolution passed but it may have only passed a committee so we wait to color in the map until the entire legislature votes.
6. Below you’ll see info on how to start a resolution in your county (or town/village). Mattie Z who is on my page may see this and chime in but she did a fantastic job in Orleans Co. and everyone can learn from her. Follow the steps below. You have to do this. You have to get involved. I can’t make it happen alone but WE THE PEOPLE can and will! This is grass roots. Be unafraid. Elected officials work for you! You are our boss. Let them know what you would like to see happen. Be nice. Be respectful. Be firm in your resolve. We have the momentum on our side. Do not let up. These are OUR rights.
7. See #1 above for encouragement and start contacting everyone who supports the 2nd amendment to get them involved as well.***How to start a resolution in your county***First realize the power of one person taking action. Take a look at Mattie Zarpentine’s experience! Contact your legislators . Let them know you’ve been watching nearby counties pass resolutions and you want them to pass one too. Let them know that the majority of NY Counties oppose the act. Give them copies of resolutions you like (this way you steer at least the initial draft). If they’re still not sure, then let them know that their action on this issue will determine if you back a primary against them next election cycle. https://www.facebook.com/NYSafeResolutions/posts/121607538021031 Usually emails and phone numbers are on the County website http://www.nysaferesolutions.com/2013/02/15/resolution-quick-list/

” Personal sentiments are strong and defiant among many U.S. gun owners.
But on to Question 47, addressed to those with a gun in their home: “If the government passed a law to take your guns, would you give up your guns or defy the law and keep your guns?”
The response: 65 percent reported they would “defy the law.” That incudes 70 percent of Republicans, 68 percent of conservatives, 52 percent of Democrats and 59 percent of liberals.”
” Cuomo’s approval rating fell to 59 percent from an all-time high of 74 percent in the survey, conducted by Quinnipiac University.
That fall was driven almost entirely by Republican voters souring on the governor after he signed into law tough new gun restrictions. They included a ban on assault weapons and high capacity magazines, increased penalties for purchasing illegal guns, and requirements to report potentially harmful behavior by the mentally ill. Many of the state-level provisions championed by Cuomo have also received support from President Obama, who called for new federal gun controls in the aftermath of the elementary school shooting in Newtown, Conn.”
” The Resistance Begins: New York Gun Owners Refuse to Register.
“Largest Act of Civil Disobedience in State History”
With emotions running high in the aftermath of the Newtown Sandy Hook shooting, politicians on the State and Federal level have begun introducing legislative actions to curtail access to firearms protected by the Second Amendment.
In Missouri, parents may soon be forced to register firearms with their child’s school under threat of criminal penalties.
In Massachusetts, another proposal would require storage of semi-automatic rifles at government approved storage depots.
And, in the State of New York, congressional representatives have already passed legislation that requires registration of every semi-automatic rifle and reduces maximum magazine capacity to 7 rounds of ammunition, and Governor Cuomo has floated the idea of gun confiscation.
Now, in what is sure to be a growing trend across the entire country, New York gun owners are organizing a resistance against what many believe to be the most, “brazen infringement on the right to keep and bear arms anywhere in the nation,” according toThe New American:
Preparations are already being made for mass resistance.”
” Now that Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor has denied Hobby Lobby’s application for an emergency injunction protecting them from Obamacare’s HHS Mandate on abortion and birth control, Hobby Lobby has decided to defy the federal government to remain true to their religious beliefs, at enormous risk and financial cost.
Hobby Lobby is wholly owned and controlled by the Green family, who are evangelical Christians. The Greens are committed to running their business in accordance with their Christian faith, believing that God wants them to conduct their professional business in accordance with the family’s understanding of the Bible. Hobby Lobby’s mission statement includes, “Honoring the Lord in all we do by operating the company … consistent with Biblical principles.”
The HHS Mandate goes into effect for Hobby Lobby on Jan. 1, 2013. The Greens correctly understand that some of the drugs the HHS Mandate requires them to cover at no cost in their healthcare plans cause abortions.
Today Hobby Lobby announced that they will not comply with this mandate to become complicit in abortion, which the Greens believe ends an innocent human life. Given Hobby Lobby’s size (it has 572 stores employing more than 13,000 people), by violating the HHS Mandate, it will be subject to over $1.3 million in fines per day. That means over $40 million in fines in January alone. If their case takes another ten months to get before the Supreme Court—which would be the earliest it could get there under the normal order of business—the company would incur almost a half-billion dollars in fines. And then of course the Supreme Court would have to write an opinion in what would likely be a split decision with dissenters, which could easily take four or six months and include hundreds of millions of dollars in additional penalties. ”
” FOX NEWS: To provide all Americans with health insurance, premiums will have to rise to pay for it, Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini told CNBC’s “Closing Bell” on Wednesday. “If we’re going to insure all Americans, which is a worthy and appropriate cause, then somebody has to pay for it,” Bertolini said of the expected premium increases under Obamacare. Bertolini said that insurance premiums could double in some places just on the basis of what types of policies people buy today. He also said that when Obamacare is fully implemented, it won’t start the way people had hoped and it won’t be cheaper. ”
