… For Selling Guns

” A subsidiary of Visa, a key Obama campaign donor, that specializes in credit card transactions has abruptly stopped servicing the nation’s largest gun store after four years because the store sells guns, a fact the owners never hid.

Hyatt Gun Shop of Charlotte, N.C., told Secrets that the subsidiary, Authorize.net/CyberSource, simply sent an email to owner Larry Hyatt to announce that it was suddenly breaking off the business relationship. The reason: “The sale of firearms or any similar product.” “

We are at war folks ,for the very freedoms our forefathers bled and died for and the forces of cronyism/statism will stop at nothing until they have all of us liberty-loving citizens under the yoke of subservience . That which they cannot achieve legislatively or judicially they will attempt to accomplish commercially . We must draw the line as even now we are suffering the death of a thousand cuts .

New Jersey Adds Certain Air Rifles To ‘Assault Weapons’ List

” The Garden State is adding an entire class of air rifles to their banned “Assault Weapons” list. The New Jersey Firearms Investigation Unit, which in accordance with state law, has declared that air rifles featuring noise reduction devices count as suppressed firearms, which are banned.

Lumping them in with silencers, the New Jersey State Police has made the decision to add all air rifles equipped with noise reducers to their list of illegal guns — specifically the Gamo Whisper .177 and .22 DX models and anything “substantially identical.” The New Jersey police consider any noise reducer that uses internal baffles a silencer.

The New Jersey Second Amendment Society (NJ2AS) recently obtained a copy of the new interpretation and posted it on their website.

“By definition, the Gamo Whisper is considered a firearm by NJS 2C:39-1f,” reads Lieutenant Joseph Genova’s notice (.pdf). “As such, the definition of a firearm silencer is defined by NJS 2C:391g which states, ‘”Firearm silencer” means any instrument, attachment, weapon or appliance for causing the firing of any gun, revolver, pistol or other firearm.’” “

Safety Alert For All Smith & Wesson Shield Pistols (VIDEO)

” Reports of distributors and dealers being told to halt sales of Smith & Wesson M&P Shield pistols are flying all over the Internet, leading many to believe a recall is pending.

Fortunately, it appears the problem could be limited. Smith & Wesson has posted a “safety alert” regarding a specific malfunction of the concealed-carry pistols’ triggers.

That being said, the flaw could affect any M&P Shield manufactured prior to Aug. 19, 2013, so it may be present on essentially every Shield ever made currently on the market.

“We believe this condition is largely limited to recently manufactured M&P Shield pistols. However, out of an abundance of caution, we are asking all consumers of all M&P Shields manufactured before Aug. 19, 2013 to immediately inspect their pistols for this condition.” “

Ohio Man Illegally Arrested For Open Carry Sparks $3M Lawsuit

” An Ohio man has slapped local government with a $3.6 million lawsuit after policemen allegedly violated his Constitutional rights. Police detained Ray Call and confiscated his weapon because he openly carried his firearm into a store.

According to reports, Call entered a store late one night with his gun openly on display. The authorities were alerted, and fairly soon two policemen arrived on the scene. The police officers held Call in the back of the police car, took his weapon, and demanded that he identify himself.

It appears that Call has a solid case. Police cannot detain citizens and demand identification with no good reason. Call was well within his rights and Ohio laws clearly backed him up. Police could not have taken action against Call unless it appeared that he was about to commit a crime, and the mere presence of a firearm does not constitute suspicion.”

Ban On Displaying Guns At City Museums Should Be Lifted, Ald. Burke Says

” The city’s most powerful alderman — Edward Burke (14th) — introduced an ordinance at Wednesday’s City Council meeting that would allow Chicago museums to display unloaded firearms for historical purposes.

Currently, city museums are prohibited from lawfully displaying firearms of historic value, according to the city’s long-standing gun ordinance.

Burke said Wednesday he recently learned of the “anomaly in the city code.”

“Museums are caught in a dilemma that if they have in their collections artifacts that can be defined as firearms, even though there’s historical significance to the memento, they can’t be registered in the city and can’t be displayed,” Burke said.

Burke cited the example of Major General William P. Levine, one of the very first American soldiers to liberate the Dachau concentration camp during World War II.”

Gun Crisis? What Gun Crisis? Part II

” It’s not just Pew. This Department of Justice report makes embarrassing reading for those who spend their time trying to make it appear as if America is in the middle of a gun-crime wave. The headlines:

  • Firearm-related homicides declined 39%, from 18,253 in 1993 to 11,101 in 2011.
  • Nonfatal firearm crimes declined 69%, from 1.5 million victimizations in 1993 to 467,300 victimizations in 2011.
  • For both fatal and nonfatal firearm victimizations, the majority of the decline occurred during the 10-year period from 1993 to 2002.

Visually, the decline is particularly striking:

Lest you think that category an anomaly : Controlled by race , sex , region , and even non-fatalities doesn’t matter . The trend is the same . Down , down , down . Even school shooting deaths are down 33% since 1993 , despite what the media would have you believe .

FBI Stops Terror Plot In Western Minnesota

Montevideo_Mn

” The FBI believes “a terror attack was disrupted” when authorities arrested a man after they converged on a mobile home in western Minnesota that contained Molotov cocktails, suspected pipe bombs and firearms, the agency said Monday.

Buford Rogers, 24, was arrested Friday and charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He remains in federal custody and it is not clear if he has an attorney.”

” In a news release Monday, the FBI said it believes “the lives of several local residents were potentially saved” by the search and arrest.

The agency said the terror plot was discovered through analysis of intelligence gathered by local, state and federal authorities.”

Let us get this straight , The FBI arrests some hillbilly felon in a mobile home in some backwater town in western Minnesota , potentially saving “the lives of several local residents” and this constitutes a thwarted “terror” attack ?

Are we to believe that every potential grudge , revenge or murder plot is now to be categorized as an incident of “terror” ? Can you say “battle-space preparation” ?

Dems Say Need To Block ‘Stomach Churning’ Plastic Printable Gun Is Urgent

” A New York Democrat wants to revise gun laws to encompass a downloadable plastic gun produced on a 3-D printer.

On Friday, Defense Distributed premiered its plastic firearm with only one small necessary metal part: the firing pin.

Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) wants to pour water on this invention with his Undetectable Firearms Modernization Act, which extends a 1988 ban on plastic guns that expires this year and extends it to include homemade, plastic high-capacity magazines and receivers. The piece of metal in the downloadable gun, which allows it to be spotted by metal detectors, keeps it within current law.

“Security checkpoints, background checks, and gun regulations will do little good if criminals can print plastic firearms at home and bring those firearms through metal detectors with no one the wiser. When I started talking about the issue of plastic firearms months ago, I was told the idea of a plastic gun is science-fiction. Now that this technology appears to be upon us, we need to act now to extend the ban on plastic firearms,” Israel said.”

Not to be upstaged , fellow Statist NY Senator,  Chuck “Am I On” Schumer , puts in his two cents.

” On CNBC today, Schumer “at the very least” Congress needs to make it “a crime to have such a gun.”

“If the police see you carrying one on the street, they’ll know it’s a crime. If anybody sees you doing it, they’ll know it’s a crime,” he said. “What we should do beyond that, I don’t know. I mean, obviously there are First Amendment issues. We’ve had this issue about bombs being put on the Internet in the past. And obviously someone could go overseas and put something on the Internet where our laws don’t govern.” “

UNPRECEDENTED Shortages Of Ammo, Physical Gold And Physical Silver

” Recent events have helped fuel a “buying frenzy” that threatens to spiral out of control.  Gun shops all over the nation are reporting that they have never seen it this bad, and in many cases any ammo that they are able to get is being sold even before it hits the shelves.

The ammo shortage has already become so severe that police departments all over America are saying that they are being told that it is going to take six months to a year to get their orders.  In fact, many police departments have begun to trade and barter with one another to get the ammo that they need.  Meanwhile, the takedown of paper gold and paper silver has unleashed an avalanche of “panic buying” of physical gold and physical silver all over the planet.

In the United States, some dealers are charging premiums of more than 25 percent over the spot price for gold and silver and they are getting it.  People are paying these prices even though they are being told that delivery will not happen for a month or two in many cases. “

7-YEAR-OLD FACES TWO FELONY CHARGES FOR SHOOTING BB GUN

” He looks like a typical 7-year-old boy, but on Tuesday night, Sam Grant is facing charges that many adults never will. He is charged with two felonies for something that happened when his mother turned her back for just a second.

Sam is charged with two felony counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle. If convicted he faces one year probation and hundreds of hours of community service. Sam’s parents believe the charges are all wrong.

“They considered his BB gun a firearm. It is not a firearm. It is a BB gun,” said Cherry.”

From Hot Air

” Project Veritas is back on the gun-control beat with a brand new video out today.  With gun-control advocates insisting that Americans don’t really need firearms for personal protection because we have police forces to act as instant-response armed guards, PV went undercover to talk with actual police officers about the reality of police response.  Unlike the politicians that want to volunteer them for guard duty, the police in the videos are a lot more realistic about the limits of police response — even if they are creative about alternative solutions to firearms in an emergency:”

Why Licensing Gun Owners Is Unworkable and (Probably) Unconstitutional

” The main problem that I can think of for licensing gun owners is that it converts a right that you can exercise at will into a privilege for which you need government permission. That raises important practical objections and, potentially, constitutional hurdles.

The practical objections should be clear in such a politically loaded issue: Informing millions of gun owners that they now need permission from government officials they’ve already clearly indicated they distrust to purchase and own firearms — something they consider a natural right — is begging for opposition and non-compliance on a massive scale. Fisher says he foresees little opposition because many gun owners have submitted to licensing and permitting requirements for concealed carry and hunting. But … hunting is a recreational activity involving a use of a firearm that’s already owned. Concealed carry also involves a use of an already owned gun — and permitting requirements for concealed carry are sufficiently controversial that several states, including my own Arizona, haverepealed them or made them voluntary (some people still want them for the purposes of reciprocity with other states). “

MO Democratic Bill Will Force Parents to Notify Schools If They Own a Gun

60 Percent Of Young Americans Plan To Purchase Firearms, Study Reveals

” Sixty percent of high school and college students say they plan on owning guns at a later stage in life, an academic study from American University revealed on Monday.

According to a brand new study, sixty percent of young Americans plan on purchasing firearms in the future.

According to the study, about 40 percent of the American students surveyed said they definitely planned to own firearms once they had established their own households. Another 20 percent said they were “contemplating” owning guns.

Those findings were part of a broader study conducted by American University professor Jennifer L. Lawless and Loyola Marymount professor Richard L. Fox which focused on the political opinions of young Americans. The study was conducted prior the recent Newtown massacre, but after the Aurora theatre shooting.

Lawless told Campus Reform on Tuesday that in her view the findings were proof that President Obama should move swiftly, and without the permission of Congress if necessary, in order limit the availability of firearms.

“The next generation plans on owning guns, so if we want to avoid the tragedies that we’ve seen… we obviously need to move quickly and if an executive order is the way to do it, then that is the way the to do it,” she said. “

Wyoming Lawmakers Propose ‘Gun Protection’ Legislation

Wyoming Guns

” A movement to stop unconstitutional violations of gun rights by refusing to enforce unjust laws is slowly gaining momentum.

Last week, we saw the positive news of a small town Chief of Police in Pennsylvania who is proposing an ordinance to ‘preserve the 2nd Amendment’ and nullify any and all policies or attempts at enforcement from the federal, state or local level that violate the right to keep and bear arms.

Now, as predicted, others are modeling legislation on this same, or at least similar, grounds.

Members of Wyoming’s state government are introducing bills to uphold the 2nd Amendment as well. K2Radio.com reports:

Several Wyoming lawmakers are proposing legislation designed to protect gun-owners from any potential federal firearm ban. The “Firearms Protection Act” bill, introduced this week, would make any federal law banning semi-automatic firearms or limiting the size of gun magazines unenforceable within the state’s boundaries. “

Police Chief Secures 2nd Amendment with Ordinance

Bravo Company USA

” Please share this information on your FaceBook page in the hope that other folks in the “I support the 2nd Amendment, but don’t want people to have AR15 rifles” crowd get a better real understanding of the issues at stake.
If we don’t get these folks involved and on our side, the 2nd Amendment will eventually be completely eroded. There is so much misinformation put out there by the gun-grabbers and then repeated by the media. Let’s take a moment to clear up some of that misinformation.

1) Civilian AR-15 rifles are NOT the same automatic weapons the Military has. The military has fully automatic weapons. Civilian AR-15s in production today do NOT. They shoot one shot per trigger pull, just like a semi auto hunting rifle. I know often the when the media makes commentary they show B-roll video in the background of a machine gun shooting and spraying, but that is not how civilian AR-15 rifles operate.

2) Civilian AR-15 rifles (or similar) has the same type of internals as your semi auto deer rifle. Civilian type “assault” rifles function the exact same way as deer hunting rifles. They just look different.

3) Even the term “assault” rifle is gun grabber sensationalism parroted by the media. “Assault” weapons are fully automatic (select fire), and they have been heavily regulated since the 1930s, and civilian manufacturer has been completely outlawed almost 30 years ago!!

4) ”AK-47s” have already been banned from manufacture from civilians, also almost 30 years ago. Again the civilian look-a-like rifles have the same type of semi auto internals as your hunting rifle. Different cosmetics, same type of mechanics.

5) An AR15 (or similar) is NOT a “high powered rifle”. I guess it depends on what you want to categorize as “high power”, but these rifles shoot some of the smallest rifle cartridges in the market. Deer rifles are a LOT more powerful than any of these rifles. And soon the gun-grabbing crowd will recategorize your deer rifle as a “high powered sniper rifle”. That is how this political movement works.

6) A hunting shotgun is a LOT more lethal in these close quarter mass killings of unarmed innocent people than any semi auto rifle. Anyone with extensive firearms training and experience will confirm that.

The politicians know these new laws will NOT stop these types of mass killings. They even admit it! But they want to pass them anyway because it serves their greater mission of effectively neutering the second amendment. The leaders in this movement actually DON’T WANT these laws to work (even if they would) because when they are shown ineffective, they now have the political momentum to pass more ineffective laws, and grab more guns.

This is all part of a broader gun grab, done slowly, in increments, over time, until the Second Amendment is just a bunch of meaningless outdated words on an old piece of parchment.

When a sociopath chooses that shotgun or hunting rifle in the next horrific event, you are the legislature’s next target.

The philosophy of “We need to pass more laws to stop sociopathic criminals from breaking our laws” is effective because most Americans are not really paying attention to these details. (Please read that line twice) Please help to educate the public with this information.

Also it should be noted, the 2nd Amendment has NOTHING to do with hunting, fishing, competitive shooting, “sporting purposes”, racquet ball, swimming, camping, etc. The 2nd Amendment (and the entire Bill of Rights) is to preserve a balance of power between the citizens and their government. “

South Carolina Lawmaker Reintroduces Bill to Exempt State from Federal Gun Ban

” South Carolina Sen. Lee Bright (R-Spartanburg) has reintroduced a bill that would exempt any firearm, accessory or ammunition manufactured and kept within the borders of the Palmetto State from federal regulations.

Invoking states rights under the 9th and 10th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution, Bright’s legislation – known as the ‘South Carolina Firearms Freedom Act’ – states:

“A personal firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured commercially or privately in South Carolina and that remains within the borders of South Carolina is not subject to federal law or federal regulation, including registration, under the authority of Congress to regulate interstate commerce.”

” The ‘Firearms Freedom Act’ movement has its origins in Montana, where a gun maker by the name of Gary Marbut got sick and tired of the federal government’s overreach with respect to his business.  After closely examining the Constitution, in particular the commerce clause, Marbut conceived the Firearms Freedom Act in 2009. “

Brownells Sells 3.5 years’ Worth Of Magazines In 72 Hours

” In the face of possible legislation to restrict and possibly ban firearms and magazines over a certain capacity, waves of panic buyers have stripped shelves to the paint, at both retail and online gun stores.

A combination of demand and gouging has caused prices for rifle magazines and rifles, parts and accessories to more than double, with some vendors selling goods at five times what the average rate was just a few weeks ago.

Many online companies are selling magazines faster than their systems can handle, accepting orders for stock they don’t have and running out of stock mid-transaction.

Brownells spokesman Jason Corpus had this to say.”

Firearm of the Week, the United States Rifle, 7.62 mm,

M14, M21/M25 SWS, M1A, Mk 14 EBR

“It is better to burn out then to fade away.” Thus it was for one of the shortest-lived standard-issued battle rifles for the U. S. military. A firearm sandwiched in between the great M1 Garand and the M16, historically speaking this gun barely made a showing on the battlefield. However, in its brief appearance it made such an impression that it is once again being called in the line of duty. That rifle is the United States 7.62mm M14. “

From The Truth About Guns

” … are you concerned about ammo over-penetration during a self-defense scenario? Given the 5.56 round’s performance, I’ve always considered my AR-15 an “outside toy” and relied on my Benelli M2 (loaded with Winchester PDX1-12) for home defense duty … “

Gun Test: AirForce Condor

AirForce Airguns President John McCaslin is a lifelong airgun aficionado and tinkerer who set out to build an air rifle that exceeded the performance capabilities of what was available in the U.S. market. Custom-made high-pressure airguns were available in Europe, but only in limited numbers and at high prices. Three years of development and refinement later, AirForce Airguns began production of its products in 1997. We recently tested the Condor, which is the most powerful gun in the company’s lineup. Capable of propelling a .25-cal. lead pellet at more than 1,100 fps, the Condor is no toy. “

”  If you had to choose one gun—and only one gun—to get you through a disaster (be it traditional or zombie-related), what would it be? If you could have one firearm (that’s realistically available) to protect yourself, your family and your assets, what would it be and why? Here are 10 choices made by some of the editors and contributors in NRA Publications. What would you choose? Let us know. “
