We're not going to assume that Rainn Wilson's views on guns and gun control would change if we pointed out that the NRA's "dead kids threshold" exposed in his tweet originated at parody site The Onion. He must know it's a parody, right? If so, he's not saying, and at least a few followers were outraged by this shocking "fact."

Reality Comes To Low-Information Voters
” If you go on Twitter you’ll find lots of stuff like this. The clueless-cool set who voted overwhelmingly for Obama are now wondering how come he said taxes weren’t going to go up on 98 percent of the American people when here’s their first paycheck and taxes went up.
Call it Schadenfreude if you like. It’s a nasty habit. But considering that Obama managed to get himself re-elected despite a record more suited for the guillotine by playing Santa Claus, and considering that the media has rightly cast the fiscal cliff deal as a victory for the president and a loss for the Republicans, there’s a valuable silver lining here.
You can’t blame this on the GOP. Obama owns this.
Sure, the media will spin this as John Boehner trying to cut taxes for rich people and screwing Joe Six Pack. But nobody’s going to buy that. Not when they’ve got to stay home and dine on Mac & Cheese rather than get a burger at Applebee’s this weekend and every other weekend for the foreseeable future; this is Obama’s fault.
And that’s actually good. It’s good medicine for people who didn’t think there were personal consequences to voting for Obama without a clue what they were voting for. Maybe some of these drones will develop a little empathy for people whose taxes went up a hell of a lot more than two percent this week. “

If you are getting the sense there is no one with sense inside the Beltway, you’re getting warm. The reason everyone is spinning and spinning out of control is that the country can’t be governed without an executive who is both adept at and motivated to lead. No matter how responsible or irresponsible the Congress is, in a complex set of negotiations with almost infinite permutations of a deal, competing interests and inflamed partisans, there is only one person with the stature to force both sides to a deal. But this president seems unwilling to ask anything of his side and determined to set up a series of no-win situations for his opponents, whom he treats not as political rivals to be bargained with but enemies to be vanquished.
Chance of going over the fiscal cliff? On a scale of zero to 10, 10 being certainty that we are all going to take the plunge, I think we’re at 9. And maybe this is for the best.”

If one is to judge by the present culture , we would have to agree .
” It’s also hard to refute. The last few decades of disasters are hardly support for any argument of massive intelligence by humans. From great prosperity to great stupidity is apparently easy, if you’re dumb enough.
The sheer hatred of intellect in media, with “nerds”, “geeks” and other pre-pubescent language, is also pretty obvious. If you’ve got ten broken legs, apparently you go and get a celebrity, not a doctor.
TV is also a great example of total loss of intelligence across society. Find a group of layabouts, stick them in front of a camera, give them a few circus tricks to do and call it entertainment. The most boring people on Earth are the new norm. In the 60s, you’d never have lasted a second. Now, we’re on the umpteenth year of Big Brother, “talent” shows with old has-beens as judges, and of course endless revivals of every movie ever made. Intelligent? No. Nothing like it.
The rot goes deeper, though. We now have highly qualified people who can’t think outside their training at all. They will not question one word of anything they’ve “learned”. We have academics fearlessly upholding century or more old theories as though they’ll never change.
They’re like little kids. This is how you learn, and they just don’t take it any further. They don’t know how to do any sort of original interpretation. There’s even a sick statistic running around that about 40% of college grads don’t read a book ever again after graduation. “

Today seems to be a day to celebrate the lighter side of things and so that requires a visit to some of the more creative commentators on the right hand side of things .This first offering from Marathon Pundit , while not exceedingly funny , is very informative . Isn’t it wonderful to see the association of the school teachers and the unions with all the communists ? It is a view that the bootlick media goes to astronomical lengths to hide from the general public , but thanks to intrepid truth seekers of the “Breitbart Brigade” we can see what the Occupiers are really all about . And who their friends are .
