Vice President Joe Biden told stakeholders involved in gun control during a conference call on Thursday that President Obama will implement new executive orders to restrict guns a day after the Senate rejected the Manchin-Toomey bill that would have implemented universal background checks for gun purchases in the United States.
“Look, I know you’re going to say that I’m just being an optimist and I’m trying to put a good face on this,” Biden told the stakeholdersat the conference, which journalists were not invited to attend. “But, you know, I’ve been around here a long time and we’ve already done, because of you, some really good things. Number one, the president is already lining up some additional executive actions he’s going to be taking later this week.”
An official within the administration, however, later said that Biden was referring to the 23 executive orders Obama implemented in January, which Biden did discuss.”

Retired General Tells Biden: Military Can Help With Gun Control Agenda

” Ahead of a Senate hearing on gun control today, Vice President Joe Biden met with retired military officials to thrash out a strategy to win over public approval for the implementation of strict anti-gun measures.
Retired general Stephen Xenakis told The Hill that he suggested to Biden that members of the military could help the White House move forward with its gun control agenda.
“The vice president understands that when it comes to communicating with credibility on guns, the two groups with the most credibility are law enforcement and military officials,” he said. “We have experience with both having weapons and using them responsibly, so we can get that message out.”
Xenakis said that military officials would be on hand to pitch gun control talking points to the public.
“He has a plan and he’s working with leaders in Congress to get it done.” Xenakis said of the Vice President.
Xenakis also appeared in a new “Demand a Plan” gun control advocating commercial this week, featuring several other retired army generals, put out by the Mayors Against Illegal Guns group, fronted by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.”

Every Single Bit Of Gun Advice Biden Gives Will Get You Arrested
Via US News & World Report, which is admirably covering the “things Biden says that will get you thrown in jail” beat:
Vice President Joe Biden told Field & Stream magazine in an interview published Monday, “[if] you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door.”
Coincidentally, a 22-year-old man in Virginia Beach, Va., was charged Monday with reckless handling of a firearm after doing just that a couple days earlier.
Local TV station WAVY 10 reports that the man observed two masked men leaning into his bedroom window. The men allegedly had weapons and told him to close his bedroom door. He stepped outside of his bedroom and did as instructed, then fired his shotgun through the closed door and then several more times at the window.
The only person who should ever take Biden’s gun advice is David Gregory, who is of course exempt from gun laws because he has very important points to make.
And, when it comes to gun laws for thee but not for me, you can’t beat this attack of hypocrisy combined with cronyism. Hypocrony? Guess who’s exempt from New York’s new high-capacity magazine ban?
Just a month after Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the strictest gun control law in the country, state officials plan to make some exemptions.
The law toughened restrictions on military-style rifles and high-capacity semiautomatic handguns, but those restrictions will be changed so those types of weapons can be used on the sets of television shows and movies being shot in New York.”
