Boehner, Rove, And Chamber Wage Big-Moneyed Assault Against Tea Party

” Due to the surge in political involvement by every day citizens in the grassroots Tea Party movement, there was a shift in control in the House of Representatives. One-third of the Republican members of the House elected in 2010 were freshmen. They included Tea Party favorites Tim Huelskamp, Trey Gowdy, Tim Scott,  Justin Amash, Raul Labrador, and others. With this GOP takeover, those in the Tea Party movement had hope that Barack Obama’s far left agenda to ‘fundamentally transform America’ would be stopped. The then newly elected Speaker of the House, John Boehner, spoke a good game in support of the Tea Party movement. In an article published in December of 2010 in the New Yorker, Boehner was quoted standing strongly for the Tea Party, welcoming the influence these every day citizens would have in not just the political process, but in getting the Republican Party back to its conservative roots.

Boehner’s praise and support of the grassroots Tea Party movement and those ushered into the House because of it eroded in two years.  In December of 2012, Boehner began his purge of conservatives from powerful committee positions. Since then, Boehner has ramped up his attack on the Tea Party into a very vocal and nasty display.

In following Boehner’s lead of disdain for the Tea Party movement, FOX News Contributor Karl Rove has moved his attack on the Tea Party away from the white board on FOX News to using his often praised by mostly failed organization American Crossroads. Earlier this year, Rove outright declared war on the Tea Party. News reports surfaced the day after Christmas that Rove is not only reloading in his war against the Tea Party, but is forming additional organizations to fool the people in donating, as reported in the New York Times.”

WAR! TRUMP, LEVIN PUMMEL ROVE AS CONSERVATIVE BATTLE ESCALATES

” Trump and Levin hit Rove where it really hurts.  First Trump criticized Rove’s effectiveness as a campaign strategist by slamming his SuperPAC, American Crossroads’ performance in the 2012 election: “Four hundred million dollars was wasted.  They do the worst ads I have ever seen, ever.”

Levin followed up with what might be the most significant line of attack against Rove:  “I would say to the wealthy donors out there, ‘Why do you keep donating to him?’ why don’t you donate to all these groups who are actually grassroots, who are actually fighting and who are actually effective?” “

Dick Morris Fired by Fox? CNN to Get Scoop Tonight

” On Tuesday, Fox confirmed rumors Morris would not have an official role at the network. Morris’ contract with Fox expired on Sunday.

“His contract is up and we will not be renewing it, ” a Fox spokesperson said. The Morris announcement comes in the wake of Fox’s decision not torenew Sarah Palin’s contract.

The network did announce that former Bush White House adviser Karl Rove had been renewed as a contributor. The network also signed on former Democratic Congressman Dennis Kucinich as a contributor.”

Out with the firebrands , in with the establishment toadies

Looks like Rupert has decided to suck up to the powers that be and turn Fox into a popular version of MSNBC . Given statements he has made recently I guess that shouldn’t come as such a surprise .

Editors Note : While we’ve never considered Clinton stooge Dick Morris a conservative , we will give him credit for aging into something of an anti-establishment free spirit and though still not to be thoroughly trusted , he exhibits a much greater understanding of the way the Tea Party/average, freedom loving American feels than does a “true conservative” GOP flunky like Karl Rove .

Rove & Co Declares War On Tea Party

” The Times reports that this new group will dedicate itself to “recruit seasoned candidates and protect Senate incumbents from challenges by far-right conservatives and Tea Party enthusiasts who Republican leaders worry could complicate the party’s effort to win control of the Senate.”

But it is American Crossroads and its ilk that have run the GOP into the ground. Spending millions of dollars on useless 30,000-ft. advertising campaigns during the last election cycle, training candidates to soften conservatism in order to appeal to “moderates,” blowing up the federal budget under George W. Bush as a bipartisan tactic – all of those strategies led the party to a disastrous defeat in 2012. The Tea Party, which may nominate losers from time to time, also brought the Republicans their historic 2010 Congressional victory. If Tea Party candidates lose, it’s because they weren’t good candidates; if GOP establishment candidates lose, it’s because they weren’t good conservatives. The choice for actual conservatives should be easy.

But it isn’t. The Bush insider team that helped lead to the rise of Barack Obama insists that they, and only they, know the path to victory. As the Times reports, Conservative Victory Project won’t merely protect incumbents – it will challenge sitting Congresspeople of the Tea Party variety, including six-term Iowa Republican Rep. Steve King, who may run for Senate.

A Small Business Party

We’ve been told the Republican Party must recalibrate all its positions following an election in which very little changed. We’ve been lectured on abortion after exit polls showed voters were motivated by the economy. We’ve watched various big-government “conservatives” crawl out from under rocks murmuring the usual incantations against the Tea Party. And we’ve endured a video of Meghan McCain saying she “hates” Karl Rove being praised as some sort of avant garde one-woman stage show.

As a friend of mine exclaimed a few days ago, “We lost one election!” It was a stinging loss at a crucial time, to be sure. But it hardly portends the extinction of conservatism.

That being said, there’s one voice in the cacophony that’s worth a listen. Rep. Raul Labrador (R-Idaho) said this on Meet the Press this past Sunday:

[W]e believe in small government, but we also believe in the individual. There are too many Republicans here in Washington, DC, and they are actually defending big business. They are defending the rich. I didn’t become a Republican to defend the rich. And– and what we need to understand is that big business loves big government, because they get all the goodies from big government. They get more– they get less competition. The more that government grows, the more that big business actually benefits from the tax code and from the regulations.

Stacy McCain Reports

FROM AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION

“Convicted felon Brett Kimberlin is the nephew of a wealthy Maryland woman who has contributed to a foundation that helped fund a 501(c)3 organization of
which Kimberlin is the director .
Kimberlin’s activities have recently attracted widespread attention because of his attempts to intimidate and harass bloggers
who wrote about his criminal history.

Harriet Crosby, 66, reportedly an heiress to the General Mills fortune, was one of the original donors to the Threshold Foundation, which contributed $20,000 to Kimberlin’s Justice Through Music Project
in 2008, according to database research I reported May 19 . “
