” MSNBC tried its hand at cultural commentary on Monday with a Cinco de Mayo segment featuring a stereotypical portrayal of a stumbling Mexican by a reporter pretending to guzzle tequila straight from the bottle.
As a visual reading “Mexican Heritage Celebration” appeared on screen, Way Too Early host Thomas Roberts explained the historical background of the holiday. As he spoke, a sombrero-clad Louis Burgdorf wandered around the newsroom shaking a maraca.
” It’s also an excuse to drink tequila on a Monday morning at work for Louis,” Roberts said, adding “you have to drink the whole thing and eat the worm.” “

” A Homeland Security initiative to put fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border could discriminate against minorities, according to an Obama-appointed federal judge who’s ruled that the congressionally-approved project may have a “disparate impact on lower-income minority communities.”
This of course means that protecting the porous—and increasingly violent—southern border is politically incorrect. At least that’s what the public college professor at the center of the case is working to prove and this month she got help from a sympathetic federal judge. Denise Gilman, a clinical professor at the taxpayer-funded University of Texas-Austin, is researching the “human rights impact” of erecting a barrier to protect the U.S. from terrorists, illegal immigrants, drug traffickers and other serious threats.
The professor sued in federal court arguing that the public interest in how the fence will impact landowners outweighed any privacy concerns. The data will allow the public to analyze whether the government is treating property owners equally and fairly or whether the wall is being built in such a way that it disadvantages “minority property owners,” according to the professor. It will also help the public understand the actual dimensions of the wall and decisions related to where it’s placed.
Judge Beryl Howell, appointed to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia by President Obama in 2010, agreed that the public interest is significant. Her 37-page ruling also seems to indicate that she bought the discrimination argument. “Revealing the identities of landowners in the wall’s planned construction site may shed light on the impact on indigenous communities, the disparate impact on lower-income minority communities, and the practices of private contractors,” Howell wrote.”
Judicial Watch has the story
TOP 10 EXCERPTS FROM ZIMMERMAN VS. NBC NEWS COMPLAINT
” On Thursday, George Zimmerman filed
suit against NBC News and three NBC
producers he accuses of intentionally
painting him as a racist. Zimmerman and
his attorneys have now done what many
in the new media only dream of doing,
holding the major media responsible for
their biased and misleading output.
The language in the complaint is
blunt. It calls NBC’s coverage “yellow
journalism” and refers to “journalistic
crimes.” Most broadly, the complaint
accuses NBC of trumping up a racism
narrative for ratings, with a name
check of the Today Show and Rev. Al
Sharpton in particular.
Here are some
of the highlights or, if you prefer, the
media’s lowlights from the complaint:
1. NBC saw the death of Trayvon
Martin not as a tragedy but as
an opportunity to increase
ratings, and so set about to
create the myth that George
Zimmerman was a racist and
predatory villain. “
“Even before the Daily Caller released the video last night of President Obama’s 2007 speech before a majority black audience in Virginia, our corrupt media was already declaring it “old news.”
Time ‘s Mark Halperin had a full-blown meltdown and BuzzFeed Politics’ Ben Smith declared the story over and dead hours before anyone had read it. What’s especially pathetic about Smith is
that one of his site’s signatures is
scouring the Internet for old videos and.publishing them as … news! “
“In a video obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller, then-presidential candidate Barack Obama tells an audience of black ministers, including the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, that the U.S. government shortchanged Hurricane Katrina victims because of racism.
“The people down in New Orleans they don’t care about as much!” Obama shouts in the video, which was shot in June of 2007 at Hampton University in Virginia. By contrast, survivors of Sept. 11 and Hurricane Andrew received generous amounts of aid, Obama explains. The reason? Unlike residents of majority-black New Orleans, the federal government considers those victims “part of the American family.”
The racially charged and at times angry speech undermines Obama’s carefully-crafted image as a leader eager to build bridges between ethnic groups. For nearly 40 minutes, using an accent he almost never adopts in public, Obama describes a racist, zero-sum society, in which the white majority profits by exploiting black America. The mostly black audience shouts in agreement. The effect is closer to an Al Sharpton rally than a conventional campaign event.
“Mark Steyn: Racist dog whistles and the men who hear them”
“And so it goes with American racism: The less there is, the more extravagantly the racism-awareness lobby patrols its beat. The Walmart
carding clerks of the media are ever more alert to those who “appear to be” racist. On MSNBC,
Chris Matthews declared this week that Republicans use “Chicago” as a racist code word. Not to be outdone, his colleague Lawrence
O’Donnell pronounced “golf” a racist code word. When Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell
observed that Obama was “working to earn a spot on the PGA tour,” O’Donnell brilliantly perceived that subliminally associating Obama
with golf is racist, because the word “golf” is subliminally associated with “Tiger Woods,” and
the word “Tiger” is not-so-subliminally associated with cocktail waitress Jamie Grubbs,
nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel, lingerie model Jamie Jungers, former porn star Holly Sampson,
etc, etc. So by using the word “golf” you’re sending a racist dog whistle that Obama is a sex addict who reverses over fire hydrants. “
” MSNBC protects the meme any way it can “
“The cast and management at MSNBC really, really want their viewers — all 20 of them now,
I believe — to understand that the Republican Party is raaaaaaaaaaaacist , and that the GOP convention is nothing more than a bunch of white men talking and applauding. They are so
desperate to sell their meme latent Republican racism that they simply averted their eyes every time a speaker that didn’t fit their lone talking point took the stage:
” Imagine if Bush had insulted his Latino guests like this.
Latinos with forks, that seems to be Obama’s newest fear. At least, that’s the case judging from his actions at this years National Association of Latino Elected Officials (NALEO) luncheon since Obama had the Secret Service confiscate all the dinner forks from the participants at the June 22 event held in Orlando, Florida.
I guess Obama doesn’t worry about millions of illegal immigrants taking our jobs, getting free schooling and social services, but he’ll be darned if they’ll be allowed to eat dinner with forks like a civilized person, at least not with him around, anyway.
Several participants Tweeted that butter knives were banned outright and forks were confiscated as soon as the diners finished eating and before the President entered the room to speak. ”
Someone isn’t feeling the love these days , I guess …. LOL
Funny how whites are supposedly the racists but if any of us admitted to voting for a candidate solely based on race we would be crucified . When blacks do it it is just Pride . Feh…
