” INDIANAPOLIS — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin fired up a crowd of thousands inside Lucas Oil Stadium Saturday night to kick off the National Rifle Association’s “Stand and Fight Rally,” saying Americans’ constitutional rights as envisioned by the founding fathers are under attack and policies like gun-free zones constitute “stupid on steroids.”
” They knew that if the Second Amendment goes, the rest of the constitution is not far behind,” she said of the country’s founders.
In her approximately 12-minute address, Mrs. Palin also derided what she argued is akin to a ‘blame the messenger’ attitude on gun violence many Americans take today.
” Gun stores are an accomplice to crime,” she said, “and that fork made me fat.”
Mrs. Palin, plucked from relative political obscurity to be the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, still enjoys significant support among elements of the party’s base, and was at times received like a rock star inside the complex adjacent to the Indiana Convention Center, where much of the gun rights group’s annual meeting has taken place.
After 2008, she returned to Alaska and soon after quit her job, citing “frivolous” ethics probes and the associated legal costs. Her latest venture is a new show, “Amazing America,” on the Sportsman Channel.
A handful of potential 2016 GOP presidential contenders spoke or appeared in videotaped messages that aired Friday at the conference.
In addition to haranguing former New York City Mayor Michael I. Bloomberg’s gun control push and lampooning Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.’s recent testimony on Capitol Hill, she also tsk-tsked Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s suggestion last year to fire off shotgun blasts into the air to scare off would-be intruders.
” Just aim up in the air – that was his directive, his advice,” she said. “Well, fine, Joe Squirt Gun, if your rapist is a bird.”
She also derided those who she said place an emphasis on political correctness in handling the country’s adversaries “instead of putting the fear of God in our enemies.”
She said later in her address that if “I were in charge” — a line that drew applause from the crowd — “they would know that waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists.”

” Vladimir Putin calls Sarah Palin to chat about her prediction that he’d invade Ukraine.
Sarah Palin’s new show “Amazing America” premieres April 3 at 8pm on The Sportsman Channel.http://www.thesportsmanchannel.com/sh… “
” Fox News contributor and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will be launching her own digital video channel, tentatively called “Rogue TV,” a source familiar with the project told Capital.
The channel will be available through Tapp, the digital video service founded by former CNN chief Jon Klein and former NBC Universal entertainment executive Jeff Gaspin. Subscriptions will cost $10 per month.
Rogue is expected to launch in April or May, and it would be one of the first of the digital channels offered by Tapp.
Palin’s channel will feature video commentaries from the former Republican vice-presidential candidate, discussing current events and political issues. “

” The Tea Party was alive and well at CPAC in Washington, D.C., this past week.
It was both refreshing and encouraging to witness in-person thousands of young conservatives gathering at CPAC to deliver to the Republican Party establishment that we are conservatives first and GOP supporters only when the GOP embraces conservative principles.”
The good doctor writes on Ted Cruz …
“ How did you like President Bob Dole, President John McCain, and President Mitt Romney?” Sen. Ted Cruz asked the CPAC audience. “When you don’t stand up for principle, the Democrats celebrate.”
Cruz’s point was clear: “Me-too” establishment GOP presidential cannot win by trying to create a “Big Tent” Republican Party that echoes the Democrats in wanting big government and tolerating unreasonable taxes by offering programs like “Romney-care” that are all-too-much like what the Democrats imagine in their expanding version of a social welfare state.
“ We need to audit the Federal Reserve that is driving up the cost of living for all Americans and fueling the power of petro-tyrants like Putin,” Cruz insisted.”
And Rand Paul …
” Sen. Rand Paul, who won the CPAC presidential poll for a second year in a row, rocked CPAC with a speech openly directed against the GOP establishment.
“ I’m not talking about electing Republicans,” Paul insisted. “I’m talking about electing lovers of liberty,” he continued.
“ There is a great and tumultuous battle underway, not for the future of the GOP, but for the future of the country.”
“ Will we bold in our convictions or will we be sunshine patriots that cower in the truth and power of our message?” Paul asked.”
And of course , Sarah Palin and her Dr Seuss remix …
” Sarah Palin re-wrote the Dr. Seuss classic, Green Eggs and Ham, with a humorous version of what could constitute the Tea Party criticism of President Barack Obama:
“I do not like this Uncle Sam,
I do not like his health care scam.
I do not like these dirty crooks
or how they lie and cook the books.
I do not like when Congress steals,
I do not like their crony deals.
I do not like this spying, man.
I do not like, ‘Oh, yes, we can.’
I do not like this spending spree,
we’re smart, we know nothing’s free.
I do not like reporters’ smug replies
when I complain about their lies.
I do not like this kind of hope
and we won’t take it, nope, nope, nope.” “

” When an attempt was made to railroad George Zimmerman into prison for defending himself when assaulted, most conservatives fell silent, and some joined the lynch mob — and, to the best of my knowledge, not a single public official stood up to denounce what was going on.
More recently, when A&E suspended Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty for having the effrontery to repeat age-old Christian doctrine in an interview with GQ, Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal, and Ted Cruz let A&E have it. But the Republican establishment was present and accounted for only in its absence from the scene.
Moreover, when Mark Steyn blasted GLAAD in his inimitable way for trying to shut down public discourse, his editor at National Review Online took offense and went after him. Mark, being Mark, knew how to respond, and others at NRO have since rallied to his support. But I am nonetheless struck by the timidity on the right.
Even more to the point, however, I am really struck by the silence of the clergy. We can debate whether what Phil Robertson said was right or wrong, but the priests and ministers of the various Christian sects profess precisely what he said, and they have been ostentatiously silent. “
” On August 7, 2009, one former Alaskan Governor said this about Obamacare, “seniors and the disabled ‘will have to stand in front of Obama’s ‘death panel’so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their ‘level of productivity in society,’ whether they are worthy of health care.” It was roundly dismissed as crazy by the political left. In fact, it was Politifact’s 2009 Lie of The Year.
Four years later, MSNBC contributor Mark Halperin admitted yesterday on the Steve Malzberg Show for Newsmax TV that death panels are included in Obamacare. And that they’ll be used to control costs.
STEVE MALZBERG: I think they focused on the death panels which will be coming, call them what you will. Rationing is part of it.
MARK HALPERIN: I agree. Huge. It’s going to be a huge issue, and that’s something else about which the President was not fully forthcoming and straightforward.”
Once again the truth wills out . Despite the best efforts of the MSM and the career liars of the Democratic party the facts have become known and they are as Sarah Palin and other prominent conservative figures on the right have maintained for years . Rationed care is built into Obamacare and rationed care is a de facto death panel .
The fact is that you the individual will not be in charge of deciding what medical care is available to your terminally ill loved ones . The decision of life and death will be left up to a government appointed bureaucracy to which there is no appeal . Don’t you feel safer already ?
While it should be obvious to even the lowest information voter that Obama and his snake oil salesmen have been lying about the details of Obamacare that is hardly the most disturbing aspect of the scandal . That accomplishment belongs to our “free and independent” press , yes the very “gatekeepers” that are supposed to be the public’s bulwark against corruption in the political arena .
As the facts are presently laid to public view it becomes ever more apparent that the very people that were vilified as “kooks” and “conspiracy theorists” by the press because they dared read the bill are being proven correct which goes a long way towards exposing the complicity of the MSM in foisting the unconstitutional mess that is Obamacare on their trusting viewers.
” Big-game hunter and “Winchester Deadly Passion” host Melissa Bachman has found herself the target of a merciless onslaught of negative comments by non-hunters for doing something perfectly legal.
Bachman’s trouble began when she posted a picture of herself with an African lion on her webpage and Facebook page. She wrote of the trophy pic, “An incredible day hunting in South Africa! Stalked inside 60-yards on this beautiful male lion. What a hunt!”
It didn’t take long for the enviro-nuts to ascend their soapbox in the form of a Change.org petition demanding Ms Bachmann be determined persona non grata in South Africa . As of now ( 11.18.13 17:52 EST ) there have been 184,359 signatories to Ms Burman’s petition . The odd thing about the petition , to us anyway as we are not familiar with Change.org ‘ s SOP , is the fact that the page is in Italian and after scrolling through at least a dozen pages of the comments from signers , it is apparent that the petitioners themselves are all Italian … Not a South African in sight .
” Burman’s petition reads in part: “She [Melissa Bachman] is an absolute contradiction to the culture of conservation, this country prides itself on. As tax payers we demand she no longer be granted access to this country and its natural resources.”
Here are some more photos of Ms Bachman on the hunt various prey courtesy of her Facebook page . Give her a like just to rub it in the enviro-weenies faces .
” Hunting at the Maroi Conservancy with an amazing PH, Julious Heyneke. If you’re looking to book an African Safari contact Julious at Julious.email@example.com or checkout http://www.maroiconservancy.co.za/ — with Julious Heyneke.”
If the do-gooders were upset about the vicious lion we suppose they’ll have a heart attack over the gentle , cute and lovable zebra . Have a look .
It makes no difference to these Earth-First types whether Ms Bachman is doing anything illegal or unethical , nor does it matter that large segments of Africa depend on controlled , regulated big game hunting as a major economic engine that spreads the wealth from the government all the way down the monetary ladder to the local tribesmen .
” Although Bachman has yet to respond to her critics, the place where he took the lion has. The Maroi Conservancy defended the hunt on its Facebook page stating: “We are not apologizing for facilitating the hunt. If you are not a game farmer and struggling with dying starving animals, poaching and no fences in place to protect your animals and crop, please refrain from making negative derogatory[sic] comments.” “
Just in case we haven’t stirred the pot long enough to cause the Birkenstock crowd to wet their collective panties , here’s a final shot that is sure to outrage … what with it’s echoes of that other famous female killer of beasts Sarah Palin , here is Melissa with her first trophy Alaskan Brown bear … wipe that spittle off your lips you …
Here for your viewing pleasure is a parting video of Melissa on an opening day whitetail hunt in Illinois .
In order to clarify for all , here are some regulations regarding hunting in South Africa along with a link to all you need to know to hunt the country including lions , rhino , cape buffalo , elephant and even giraffe .
” Seriously, you can shoot everything in this country, even species which have long disappeared from their home ranges in the north of Africa flourish on ranches in this country. If you’re not into sweating in extreme heat, wading muddy rivers, climbing frigid peaks or being bitten by flies and ticks then this is your hunting heaven. Likewise if you’re not the super wealthy type South Africa is also your country of choice.”
On lions in particular …
” Lion hunting in South Africa is a controversial issue right now although they are still being hunted in great numbers. Essentially 99 percent of the Lion shot in South Africa each year come from large scale breeding facilities which specialize in trophy cats. Naturally these beasts are pen raised and fed and then once of trophy size sold to various outfitters who introduce them onto open land where they can be shot. This type of shooting has been called canned hunting and if the truth be told, many unethical operators have simply shot the cats in their small enclosures. Prices tend to be more reasonable for these types of shoot and trophy quality is tremendous. This is essentially a shoot and should not be referred to as a hunt. The cats in these situations are often more aggressive and dangerous than their wild counterparts. In addition despite what the anti-hunting fraternity say, the consumptive use / shooting of these Lions do relieve the pressure on the wild lions in other countries. Read more about this issue….“
Here is a link to the general hunting rules for South Africa revised in 2008 and here is licensing information , a bit out of date (2008) but even 5 years ago the license fees were very expensive . Depending on which province you choose for your hunt you could pay upwards of $20,000 to hunt the protected Big Game that is so highly prized .
As the links amply demonstrate the hunting industry in South Africa is highly regulated and there is certainly no danger of a few Facebook photos from an American hunting celebrity opening the flood gates to unchecked mass slaughter of the nation’s fauna .
UPDATE: An astute reader sent us a link to probably the best defense of , #1) Melissa Bachman , 2) Maroi Conservancy , 3) Hunting in South Africa , 4) Hunting in general , and the overwhelmingly positive effect that hunting has on conservation . The writer has devoted a great deal of time to researching his post and he shows how , contrary to what the Birkenstock brigade would have you believe , hunters are the animal kingdom’s best friends , foremost conservationists and most effective stewards … period . Do yourself a favor and read it all .
Rich 1% Oprah, Your Racism Is Showing; Bashir’s War On Sarah Palin
Mr Dupree has the stones to take on a pair of the stupidest statements of the week that , had they been uttered by conservatives would have caused a major uproar and fueled demands for heads to roll , but since they were uttered by leftist darlings Oprah Winfrey and Martin Bashir the merit nary a raised eyebrow . Two of the mainstays of the Democratic party’s talking points , racism and the “war on women” have jumped the shark . Good for him for calling them both out .
” Sarah Palin has had enough of the Republican establishment in DC fighting harder against the conservatives who put them in office than the Democrats and she’s firing back at the corrupt bastards in DC.
…Today, doesn’t it seem like we have a Corrupt Bastards Club in D.C.? On steroids? It might not be as oily and obvious as its Alaska counterpart, but it’s just as compromised because its members, too, are indifferent to what their actions mean for We the People.
I’m prepared to be attacked for suggesting this comparison of the D.C. political establishment with the CBC. But I call it like I see it. And lived it. The fight over defunding socialized healthcare, aka Obamacare, should have opened everyone’s eyes to call it the same.
…When Harry Reid laughs and says, “Yes, yes! Absolutely, yes!” when asked if his goal was to move Obamacare to a single-payer system of full socialized medicine, he’s spilling the truth. The evidence is right before our eyes. Please open yours, GOP establishment.
…So what was the GOP establishment’s game plan to fight this march towards socialism? They’ve been busy denouncing Sens. Ted Cruz and Mike Lee and their supporters, along with the good House Members who fought for our one chance to defund Obamacare. But what were the wayward Republicans’ alternative plans? They thought we could ignore the implementation of Obamacare and simply focus on some future electoral victories in the hope that some day the stars will align and we’ll have super majorities in the House and Senate along with a Republican president who would hopefully repeal this disastrous soon-to-be set in stone new “entitlement.” “

” On Sunday, two conservative bloggers accused Facebook of selectively enforcing rules that are either non-existent or not made known to the millions of people who use the site. Diane Sori, a Florida-based conservative who blogs at the Patriot Factor, and Craig Andresen of the National Patriot basically argued that Facebook is arbitrarily punishing conservatives using non-existent policies in order to silence criticism of Barack Obama.
The accusations stem from an incident involving the Facebook page “Barracuda Brigade for Our American Girl! 2012,” a community fan page supporting Sarah Palin.”
Hell , this is no surprise … even some WordPress blogging tools exhibit a leftward slant . Zemanta and the recommended tags algorithms often seem prejudicial towards the statist mindset if you ask me .
” Just when CPAC attendees expected Sarah Palin to take the stage for her speech this afternoon, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, stole the podium to give her a second introduction.”
” It’s the last day of the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland, which will culminate in a keynote address by up-and-coming Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas. As NPR’s David Welna reports,
“Though he’s only been a senator since January, this will be the third year Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz is addressing CPAC. This former Texas solicitor general and Tea Party favorite got top billing at the conference after aggressively questioning former GOP senator Chuck Hagel during Hagel’s confirmation hearing to be secretary of defense.”
Also scheduled to speak are Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, Newt Gingrich, Rep. Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin. (CPAC has the full schedule on its website.)”
” Slain ex-Navy SEAL Chris Kyle was a devoted husband, father and friend who will never be forgotten, his widow told mourners at his memorial service Monday.
Taya Kyle said she was broken but that the family will “put one foot in front of the other” to get through their grief. She told her two children that they will remember Chris Kyle’s silly side, Texas twang and prayers they prayed together.
“Chris, there isn’t enough time to tell you everything you mean to me and everything you taught me,” she said through tears.
Nearly 7,000 people, including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her husband, attended the service at Cowboys Stadium. Dozens of military personnel and others were seated in front of the podium near the star at midfield, where Kyle’s flag-draped coffin was placed at the beginning of the service.
After Taya Kyle’s eulogy, country singer Randy Travis sang “Whisper My Name,” which he said Taya Kyle had told him was a meaningful song for the couple, and “Amazing Grace.” At the conclusion of the two-hour service, bagpipers played as military personnel carried out Kyle’s coffin, and many in the crowd saluted.”
” Thousands are gathering at Cowboys Stadium for the Monday afternoon public memorial service for former Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle, killed at a Texas shooting range on Feb. 2.
Mr. Kyle is going to be buried at Texas State Cemetery in Austin, following a 200-mile-long funeral procession that will start near Dallas on Tuesday, AP says.”
Thousands, including Sarah Palin, expected at memorial service for Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle today at Cowboys Stadium
” Update at 10:31 a.m.: Among those expected to attend today’s service is former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who posted the following to her Facebook page this morning:
Todd and I are in Dallas today to attend Chris Kyle’s memorial and funeral service. I find it sad to see that flags aren’t flying at half staff for this American hero. We’re surrounded today by American patriots here in Texas – by Chris’ fellow veterans and active duty warriors. In honor of them, I hope our commander in chief pays his respects in some gesture of condolence for their comrade in arms who sacrificed so much to keep him and all of us safe.
We may never know to what extent Chris kept us free or how many lives he saved by his brave actions in the line of fire. But his fellow warriors know how important he was. My son Track couldn’t meet Chris when Todd and I first met him because Track was deployed to Iraq. Then when we got to know Chris even better, our son was deployed in Afghanistan. We’ve met a lot of people in recent years, and Track has been privileged to meet them as well. But he said about Chris, “Mom, he’s the ONE person in the entire world I would be star-struck to meet. He’s it.”
God bless this great warrior. Let us keep his wife and children in our prayers, and may we never forget him or his sacrifice.
Update at 10:15 a.m. by Jeff Mosier: Today, Cowboys Stadium is hosting what’s likely a unique event for the team: a public memorial service.
I’m certain nothing like this memorial service for former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle has happened at Cowboys Stadium. When I asked team spokesman Brett Daniels about whether there was ever a public memorial service at Texas Stadium, the only thing he could recall was a memorial for a member of the doomed Von Erich wrestling clan. The only reference I could find though was the annual David Von Erich Memorial: A Parade of Champions, which started in 1984. That was a memorial wrestling tournament rather than memorial service.”
” In just a couple of hours the memorial to Chris Kyle will be held at Cowboy Stadium, followed by a 200 mile procession to the funeral. To say that the man had a tremendous impact on others around him, and not just in the service of his country, is to damn him with faint praise. Like many of you, I was shocked when I got the call the he and Mr. Littlefield had been murdered. Although I never met his family, nor Mr. Littlefield and his family, I wanted to do something for them.
To that end, if you haven’t already done so, you may consider donating to the official trusts via Craft International’s page – http://thecraft.com/InMemoriam.html. At the risk of stepping on toes, I would say that you might think about donating to both. Chad Littlefield was a Chris’ friend and worthy of our support as well.
If you’re interested, Craft International has issued a 4 inch Round Memorial Patch to remember both Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield. There are also shirts available. Proceeds will benefit their memorial funds. The web address there is co-store.com/craftgear; Craft advises they will accept orders even though items are out of stock and will ship on date specified.”
” On Tuesday, Fox confirmed rumors Morris would not have an official role at the network. Morris’ contract with Fox expired on Sunday.
“His contract is up and we will not be renewing it, ” a Fox spokesperson said. The Morris announcement comes in the wake of Fox’s decision not torenew Sarah Palin’s contract.
The network did announce that former Bush White House adviser Karl Rove had been renewed as a contributor. The network also signed on former Democratic Congressman Dennis Kucinich as a contributor.”
Out with the firebrands , in with the establishment toadies
” For those untouched by death this Christmas, someone else’s bewildering, shattering turn of fate ought to occasion a little modesty and circumspection. Instead, even by its usual execrable standards, the public discourse post-Newtown has been stupid and contemptible. The Left now seizes on every atrocity as a cudgel to beat whatever happens to be the Right’s current hottest brand: Tucson, Arizona, was something to do with Sarah Palin’s use of metaphor and other common literary devices – or “toxic rhetoric,” as Paul Krugman put it; Aurora, Colorado, was something to do with the Tea Party, according to Brian Ross of ABC News. Since the humiliations of November, the Right no longer has any hot brands, so this time round the biens pensants have fallen back on “gun culture.” Dimwit hacks bandy terms like “assault weapon,” “assault rifle,” “semi-automatic” and “automatic weapon” in endlessly interchangeable but ever more terrifying accumulations of high-tech state-of-the-art killing power. As the comedian Andy Borowitz tweeted, “When the 2nd Amendment was written the most lethal gun available was the musket.”
Actually, the semiautomatic is a 19th century technology, first produced in 1885. That’s just under half-a-century after the death of Madison, the Second Amendment’s author, and rather nearer to the Founding Fathers’ time than our own. And the founders were under fewer illusions about the fragility of society than Hollywood funnymen: on July 25, 1764, four Lenape Indians walked into a one-room schoolhouse in colonial Pennsylvania and killed Enoch Brown and ten of his pupils. One child survived, scalped and demented to the end of his days.”
” HBO host Bill Maher’s political views– and his crass way of expressing them– are well known to most. Every once in a while, though, he takes things a step further than normal.
The mega Obama donor claimed back in March, for instance, that he should be held to a different standard after calling Sarah Palin a “cu**” than when Rush Limbaugh called 30-year-old Georgetown student Sandra Fluke a “slut.” On Sunday, Maher made another noteworthy claim.
Apparently Andy Williams, the iconic singer of some of the most-loved tunes in history, is to be remembered as a “teabag idiot.” “

“Apparently President Obama can’t see Egypt and Libya from his house. On the anniversary of the worst terrorist attacks ever perpetrated on America, our embassy in Cairo and our consulate in Benghazi were attacked by violent Islamic mobs. In Cairo, they scaled the walls of our embassy, destroyed our flag, and replaced it with a black Islamic banner. In Benghazi, the armed gunmen set fire to our consulate and killed an American staff member. The Islamic radicals claim that these attacks are in protest to some film criticizing Islam. In response to this, the U.S. embassy in Cairo issued a statement that was so outrageous many of us thought it must be a satire. The embassy actually apologized to the violent mob attacking us, and it even went so far as to chastise those who use free speech to “hurt the religious feelings of Muslims.” (Funny, the current administration has no problem hurting the “religious feelings” of Catholics.)”
“This past Friday, the RNC’s Convention Rules Committee voted – after several contentous votes – to change the party’s rules to allow future presidential candidates to have veto power over who can be delegates from any state – in other words, take power away from the grassroots and their ability to elect fellow conservatives as delegates.
This represents a brazen move by several Washington Beltway consultants and party insiders to diminish the power and influence of conservatives over the party.”
