Navy SEAL Killed, Another Injured In Arizona Training Exercise
” A Navy SEAL killed in a parachute training accident this week in Arizona belonged to the same elite squad that includes those chosen to go after Osama bin Laden in Pakistan two years ago, a source familiar with the matter said.
It was the second deadly military training accident in as many weeks and the third notable one in the United States since February. The other two killed 14 Marines combined in a mortar explosion and a helicopter collision.
The latest incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. local time on Thursday in a rugged part of the U.S. Special Operations Command facility at Pinal Airpark, military officials said on Friday.
Two sailors were undergoing a free-fall routine before opening their parachutes, a Navy official said in a statement, which added it was a normal exercise to maintain readiness.”

Pentagon Identifies Highly Decorated SEAL Killed During Hostage Rescue
” The U.S. Navy SEAL killed on Sunday during a hostage rescue operation in Afghanistan is Petty Officer 1st Class Nicolas D. Checque, 28, a decorated combat veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Monday.
Checque was a member of SEAL Team Six, the special operations unit that killed Osama bin Laden in Pakistan last year, though it was not immediately clear if he took part in that raid.
Checque, who was from Monroeville, Pa., and stationed in Virginia Beach, Va., joined the military in 2002, and has been part of Naval Special Warfare Command since 2008, according to the DoD.
He was awarded a Bronze Star and two other awards for combat valor. “

Let’s get some facts out of the way here: none of us here at Military.com has a security clearance that gives us access to the classified files that would allow us to come up with any kind of informed opinion about the technical accuracy of this movie. But it’s also true that anyone who’s ever had access to truly classified material of any kind would probably admit that it’s often (read: always) full of conflicting information. This Cannot End Well … For Any Of Us
“Seven members of an elite U.S. Navy SEAL team, including one who participated in the raid that killed al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, have been reprimanded for disclosing classified material while helping produce a video game, officials said on Thursday.
All seven of the special operations forces who were punished were members of the elite SEAL Team Six, according to CBS News, which first reported the reprimands. CBS said the seven worked for two days this spring and summer as paid consultants on the video game.”

” On ABC’s “This Week,” former White House green jobs czar Van Jones called his old boss a “towering figure in foreign policy: You’ve got somebody with a Nobel Peace Prize and he killed bin Laden.” The administration has also leaked details of the raid and cooperated in the making of a Hollywood movie on the raid that is due later this year.
Those of us at The Washington Examiner fist-pumped like everyone else when we heard the news that the SEALs had taken out bin Laden. But is this a grand foreign policy triumph for the ages? We don’t think so, especially given recent events. And one successful assassination does not a coherent foreign policy make. “
… Blames WH Leaks For Her Son’s Death
” President Obama’s team “put a target” on the backs of the Navy SEALs who killed Osama bin Laden, says Karen Vaughn in a video that suggests her son died three months later as a result of White House national security leaks.
“How dare they?” Mrs. Vaughn asks. “They put a target on my son’s back and even on my back. But a little over 90 days later, my son was dead.” Aaron Vaughn and 21 other Navy SEALs, “most of whom belonged to Team 6, the unit whose members were involved in the raid that killed Osama bin Laden,” according to ABC, died in Afghanistanwhen a helicopter he was riding on was shot down.
The video, released by the conservative Veterans for a Strong America, shows Vice President Joe Biden talking about the raid during a public event and Defense Secretary Robert Gates complaining that an agreement to keep the raid details secret “fell apart” as the result of such comments.”

former Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, told Fox host Mike Huckabee that intelligence sources had pinpointed the location of Osama’s safe house nearly a year before the raid.
The White House refused to authorize any military action until there was undeniable proof (specifically photographs) showing that Bin Laden was living in the compound. Gen. Keane explained that many of the officials in the small upper echelon of military and government leaders who knew about the Abbottabad safe house
became very agitated over the delay, because “the longer you spend on something like that, the greater the likelihood is that the target will be compromised, because of your surveillance, and then the target will flee.” “

Special Operations for America , a group to support “the election of Mitt Romney and like-minded candidates.” “
We touched on this the other day here but it seems to me that this item , like so many others involving this administration , deserves much more air time .
“National Security: New documents obtained by a watchdog group show our commander in chief gave the name of a Navy Seal Team 6 commander to the makers of a movie about Osama bin Laden. Valerie Plame, call your office.
Those documents, recently obtained by Judicial Watch, reveal that the Obama administration not only spiked the football and did an end-zone dance after the Navy SEALs dispatched bin Laden from his Club Pakistan abode, but was also willing to expose to the other side our playbook and the name of a SEAL commander.”
This whole affair is just one more example of the shameful lengths that the Obama Cartel will go to in it’s effort to move us “FORWARD” .

Ask yourself , can the nation successfully endure another four years of these endless breaches
of security ? The economic damage wrought in the past 3 years is plain enough for all to see but there has been much less notice of the national security threat posed by Obama & Co.
When you’ve accomplished so little of note , you are forced to go with what you’ve got . So we have a one trick dog and pony show in Afganistan , where dear leader is showing off his national defense bona fides , meager as they are . I may be way off base here , but does anyone know if the troops were disarmed while Wile E was incountry ? I’m going to guess that they were seeing as how that was the case when Panetta visited a month or so ago .
Given the level of animosity apparent on the part of the SEALS towards Wile E it would seem crazy to let any soldiers with weapons anywhere near him .
” What was supposed to be an easy win—a victory lap on the anniversary of Bin Laden’s death, trumping up the president’s most militant moment—appeared to be slipping away.
The frustration—or, even anger—within the SEAL community is real, and has been brewing for months, particularly among a politically conservative core of operators. It started immediately after the raid, with questions among the Special Forces and intelligence community of whether the president should have waited to announce the kill to exploit the intelligence cache at Osama’s compound. It simmered after a Chinook helicopter was shot down, killing 30 Americans, 22 of them Navy SEALs from Team Six.
Was it a coincidence, SEALs asked themselves, catastrophe hit Team Six so soon after being named as the team responsible for the killing? “
I will forever believe that the president’s grandstanding , indiscretion and ego played a direct role in the SEAL Team 6 losses .
