GOP Should Subpoena Benghazi’s Silenced Witnesses
” Benghazi: The House GOP has threatened to subpoena the survivors of the Benghazi terrorist attack, those who know the truth, and hold up the? nomination of our murdered ambassador’s replacement. It should do both.
The Obama administration is fond of using a familiar tactic, the shield of an “ongoing investigation,” to cover up its malfeasance in the deaths of Americans serving their country.
It was used to hide the truth regarding the administration’s Fast and Furious gun-running operation to Mexican drug cartels, which resulted in the deaths of agents Brian Terry and Jaime Zapata. They are using it again concerning Benghazi.
The only American witnesses to the Benghazi attack who have been named by the Obama administration are the four whom the terrorists killed in the Sept. 11 attack on our Benghazi mission — Ambassador Chris Stevens, State Department Information Management Officer Sean Smith, and former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, who were working for the CIA.”
” Four Americans dead, all kinds of political intrigue swirls around the story, and there remains an untold tale about what was likely a harrowing escape; and yet there is no indication whatsoever from the media that they are at all interested in interviewing the survivors of the Sept. 11 anniversary attacks on our consulate in Libya.
President Obama has lied, covered up, obfuscated, and double-talked all during the six-months following this devastatingly successful terror attack. And with rare exceptions, the media has diligently lied, covered up , obfuscated, and double-talked right along with him.”

” Republican lawmakers are threatening to subpoena U.S. survivors of the terrorist attack in Benghazi.
Exasperated GOP members say unless they get more answers from the White House, they will call on the survivors to testify before Congress, and might hold up President Obama’s nomination to replace the U.S. ambassador who was killed on Sept. 11, 2012 in Libya.
The recent revelation that U.S. survivors are recuperating at Walter Reed Hospital has sparked GOP demands that the White House provide Congress with access to them. It has also breathed new life into the controversy that was highlighted repeatedly during the 2012 presidential campaign.”
The republican leadership has really dropped the ball on this . It should have been readily apparent months ago that the administration has absolutely no intention of coming clean on their Benghazi Debacle and that the only way to get the truth is subpoenas , investigators and courts .
With few exceptions all we can see is a republican congressional delegation that can do nothing but act as enablers of democratic recalcitrance . To a man they lack the spine to stand up for liberty , truth and the American people . Whether it’s spending , gun control , green subsidy scandals , vote fraud , Fast & Furious or Benghazi the republican leadership apparently can do nothing but roll over and kiss dem/media ass .
The four brave men who died because of government incompetence , or worse , deserve better of their elected officials as do the rest of us who pay their salaries and live under their capricious whim .
” WASHINGTON (AP) – The U.S. government, led by the Pentagon and CIA, censored or withheld for reasons of national security the files that the public requested last year under the Freedom of Information Act more often than at any time since President Barack Obama took office, according to a new analysis by The Associated Press.
The AP’s analysis showed the government released all or portions of the information that citizens, journalists, businesses and others sought at about the same rate as the previous three years. It turned over all or parts of the records in about 65 percent of requests. It fully rejected more than one-third of requests, a slight increase over 2011, including cases when it couldn’t find records, a person refused to pay for copies or the request was determined to be improper.
The administration cited exceptions built into the law to avoid turning over materials more than 479,000 times, a roughly 22 percent increase over the previous year. In many cases, more than one of the law’s exceptions was cited in each request for information.
In a year of intense public interest over deadly U.S. drones, the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, terror threats and more, the government cited national security to withhold information at least 5,223 times – a jump over 4,243 such cases in 2011 and 3,805 cases in Obama’s first year in office. The secretive CIA last year became even more secretive: Nearly 60 percent of 3,586 requests for files were withheld or censored for that reason last year, compared with 49 percent a year earlier.
Other federal agencies that invoked the national security exception included the Pentagon, Director of National Intelligence, NASA, Office of Management and Budget, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Federal Communications Commission and the departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Energy, Homeland Security, Justice, State, Transportation, Treasury and Veterans Affairs.“

” So how about it, Mr. President — who called off a rescue and why?
President Obama, a little more than a week before the election, won’t
tell Americans what happened. Well, why should he — the press
doesn’t hound him, the liberal elite still rushes to his defense, and
his White House attack dogs bark “Politics!” whenever legitimate
questions are asked.
Meanwhile, the father of slain SEAL Tyrone Woods is furious with
the administration, demanding to know why his son wasn’t saved
when “apparently even the State Department had a live stream and
was aware of their calls for help. My son wasn’t even there. He was
at a safe house about a mile away. He got the distress call; he heard
them crying for help; that’s why he and Glen risked their lives to go
that extra mile just to take care of the situation. And I’m sure that
wasn’t the only one received that distress call — you know, ‘Come
save our lives.’” “

” ANDERSON COOPER, CNN ANCHOR: Erin, thanks. Good evening, everyone. We begin tonight “Keeping Them Honest,” with a mother who is now asking the toughest question any mom ever can. Why is my son dead?
That is all Pat Smith wants to know. Her son, Sean Smith, was one of the four Americans killed on September 11th in that terror attack on American facilities in Benghazi, Libya. Sean Smith, who is one of the computer specialists at the American consulate there. A month later — a month after she watched her son’s casket come off a cargo plane, a month after she says everyone promised her answers, everyone all the way up to the president of the United States. She says she is still waiting to hear. Still waiting for answers. Waiting for a call.
Congress held hearings today. We’ll talk about that shortly, but first, my conversation with Sean Smith’s mom, Pat. “
