Auburn Shooting Suspect Arrested

 

 

 

 

” WSFA is report that the Auburn Police Department has made an arrest in connection to the shooting death of a freshman Auburn football player.

  Auburn Police say that Markale Hart, 22 of Camp Hill, AL, has been arrested and charged in connection to the shooting death of Jakell Lenard Mitchell, 18 of Opelika.

  Mitchell was rushed to East Alabama Medical Center with apparent multiple gunshot wounds and died shortly after arrival at the emergency room from his injuries. Mitchell’s body has been taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences medical examiner’s office in Montgomery for a postmortem examination.

  According to the Lee County Coroner’s office, Auburn Police and EAMC EMS received the 911 call early Sunday morning at about 12:28 a.m. to a possible gunshot victim. The incident occurred at a residence in the 200 block of West Longleaf Drive in Auburn. This is the same apartment complex where Desmonte Leonard shot and killed three men in 2012, among them, two former AU football players.”
