” Here are the eight reports of police misconduct tracked for Saturday, March 14 through Monday, March 16, 2015:

  • Seattle, Washington: An officer was fired for calling and texting women he met while investigating potential crimes. http://ow.ly/KmQzD
  • Hull, Massachusetts: A now-former sergeant was charged with larceny for paying himself more than he was owed from police union coffers. http://ow.ly/KmQZr
  • Los Angeles, California: An officer was arrested for human smuggling across the U.S./Mexico border. Authorities found a person hiding in his trunk. http://ow.ly/KnQlQ
  • Update: Syracuse, New York (First reported 03-06-15): The officer suspended for having sex with a woman who called for a welfare check on her daughter was indicted on four counts of misconduct. http://ow.ly/KnS8n
  • El Paso, Texas: A detective was arrested for assault. She allegedly choked her stepdaughter to near unconsciousness. http://ow.ly/KnSTR
  • Denver, Colorado: A detective pled guilty to domestic violence, reckless endangerment, and reckless use of a gun. A child abuse charge was among those dropped in exchange for the plea deal. He was sentenced to two years of probation. He remains suspended as Internal Affairs determines whether his employment will be terminated. http://ow.ly/KnWPC
  • Owen County, Indiana: A now-former deputy was arrested for theft and misconduct. He allegedly took stolen ginseng he recovered from a suspect and resold it. http://ow.ly/KnYiX
