Anti-Gun Senator Makes A Fool Of Himself

Published on Jan 18, 2014

” Rabidly anti-gun CA State Senator Kevin de Leon (a Democrat from Los Angeles) made a real fool of himself at a press conference for his new gun control bill when he demonstrated both his command of the English language and the extent of his firearms knowledge.

This fool of a state senator truly beclowns himself by demonstrating his complete lack of knowledge of guns , ammunition , magazines , clips and rate of fire . Yes folks , he covers all of that ground … erroneously in less than 20 SECONDS . The shear idiocy on display from one of our “betters” boggles the mind . How do these fools get elected ?

Detroit Police Chief To Citizens: Arm Yourselves

” During his 28 years on the police force in Los Angeles, James Craig tended to agree with his state’s tight control over concealed carry permits, believing fewer guns would lead to fewer violent crimes.

But when he moved to Portland, Maine, in 2009 to serve as the city’s new police chief, he discovered a different culture – one where guns actually made people safer.

Now Craig, the chief of police in Detroit, Mich., has a message for the law-abiding folks in his crime-ridden city: Arm yourselves, and criminals will think twice about attacking you.”

Arapahoe High Gunman Held Strong Political Beliefs, Classmates Said

” In one Facebook post, Pierson attacks the philosophies of economist Adam Smith, who through his invisible-hand theory pushed the notion that the free market was self-regulating. In another post, he describes himself as “Keynesian.”

” I was wondering to all the neoclassicals and neoliberals, why isn’t the market correcting itself?” he wrote. “If the invisible hand is so strong, shouldn’t it be able to overpower regulations?”

Pierson also appears to mock Republicans on another Facebook post, writing “you republicans are so cute” and posting an image that reads: “The Republican Party: Health Care: Let ’em Die, Climate Change: Let ’em Die, Gun Violence: Let ’em Die, Women’s Rights: Let ’em Die, More War: Let ’em Die. Is this really the side you want to be on?

Carl Schmidt and Brendon Mendelson, both seniors at Arapahoe High, knew Pierson. They said he had political views that were “outside the mainstream,” but they did not elaborate.”

Huge Backlash From Voters in Recall Election Against Anti-Gun Colorado Lawmakers

 photo ScreenShot2013-09-09at103745AM_zps98043907.png

” If early voting is any indication, two Colorado state senators are in for a rough day tomorrow. Voters in Colorado have been busy over the past few months with a recall election after the state passed sweeping new gun control laws which included a ban on magazines holding more than 15 rounds of ammunition. Voters have their sights set on two officials in particular, Colorado Senate President John Morse and Sen. Angela Giron, who will learn whether they’ll keep their current positions in public office after recall election polls close Tuesday.

Gun rights advocates launched the recall initiative against Colorado Senate President John Morse and Sen. Angela Giron because they voted for stricter gun laws, including limiting the size of ammunition magazines and requiring universal background checks.”

Five Sad Pictures From Today’s Anti-NRA March

The Media Platform

” I swung by the Stop the NRA March this afternoon to watch the protest and march against gun violence. I was late, but caught two of the speeches before the crowd started marching.

Participating organizations include Public Campaign, Occupy the NRA, CREDO, Every Child Matters, Moveon, United For Change, USA, New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, The Other 98%, and We Act Radio.

As Buzzfeed’s Evan McMorris-Santoro noted earlier this morning, the event featured the debut of a new anti-NRA poster created by Shepard Fairey – the designer of the famous Obama ‘Hope’ poster.

A generous estimation of the crowd size would have been about 100 people, including members of the media.

Here are some of the photos:

See also :  Nothing … sorry but an exhaustive search has turned up no links , no videos , no reports of any kind other than the above referenced item . So much for a groundswell of anti-gun support .

We did come across this video from AFP but it is undated and we could not determine if it was from today or a similar rally held in December . Judging from the attire we are guessing that this video might be from today . Note the camera angle used on the marchers … LOL … filmed from knee height , thus creating an impression of lots of participants and avoiding the troublesome empty background sure to give away the sparseness of the crowd .

Colorado Bill Would Make Gun Manufacturers And Sellers Liable For ‘Assault Rifle’ Users

The State of Colorado part IV

(Part I, part II and part III)

” Colorado Senate president John Morse has proposed yet another piece of gun control legislation for the state, one that would make gun manufacturers, distributors and gun sellers responsible for the actions of the people they sell or give guns to. This includes individual sellers, making everyone in the chain a potential target for civil suits.

The Senate Bill 196, also called the “Assault Weapons Responsibility Act”, was introduced Feb. 27 and it defines an ‘assault rifle’ as as any firearm other than a handgun, shotgun, bolt-action or lever-action rifle. The bill identifies two exemptions for use. The first is for defense of the home and the other for law enforcement. This bill would make a person liable even if they use a firearm legally, and also in the case of accidents.

It could, and probably will be argued, however, that this law is in direct conflict with the 2005 federal Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act which protects manufacturers and sellers from liability if an individual uses a gun in a crime. “

University Discloses Students’ Grades, Disciplinary History When They Apply For Gun Permits

” The University of  may have broken federal guidelines by sharing with the local sheriff’s department private information about students who apply for campus gun permits.

Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, public universities are required to keep secret personal information on students, such as their grades and addresses. But Iowa has been sending personal information regarding students who apply for campus gun permits to the sheriff’s office.

That information includes whether students received bad grades, or were exhibiting signs of depression or anger.”

ABC, CBS, NBC Slant 8 To 1 For Obama’s Gun Control Crusade

” At next week’s State of the Union Address, President Barack Obama is likely to continue his ongoing push for more gun control. It’s a push first  spurred on by Obama’s gun control allies in the liberal media. In the wake of the horrific school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14, the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) networks quickly moved to exploit the tragedy to push for more gun control legislation while mostly ignoring solutions that respect gun owners’ Second Amendment rights.

CBS was the most stridently anti-gun rights network. By a whopping 22 to 1 ratio, CBS aired more stories that favored gun control (44) to those that supported gun rights (2), with 37 neutral pieces. ABC aired almost six times as many stories that favored gun control (29) to those that favored gun rights, with 25 neutral stories. NBC pushed for more gun control in 26 of their stories to just 5 that tilted in favor of gun rights for a 5 to 1 ratio, with 43 neutral segments.”

Anti-Gun Maryland State Senator Ignores Pro-Gun Testimony by Playing Chess

” Maryland Shooters posted the photo on their Facebook page and people were not impressed.

“Pathetic. I’d get fired from my job if I was playing a game in a meeting,” one person wrote.

“I would expect nothing less from a representative of Montgomery County. He and the majority of the voters in his county are the reason this state is circling the bowl,” another wrote.

Townhall reader Albert Hewitt sent this quote by email, “The rabidly anti-gun Sen. Jamie Raskin decided that he would rather play computer chess than listen to those testifying against his views and bill. I’m a Maryland gun owner and this makes me more angry than just about anything else I’ve ever seen.” ”

Oppose Joe Manchin’s Veterans Gun Ban and National Gun Registry

” Reports out of Capitol Hill reveal that just-reelected turncoat West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin is about to stick a big knife in the back of American gun owners.  And to make matters worse, he’s lying about what he’s doing.
Both Manchin and House anti-gun crazy Carolyn McCarthy are claiming to be “working with NRA” to enact gun bans and national gun registries. NRA says flatly that Manchin is lying, and we believe he is. (The Hill, 1/24/13)

150,000 honest law-abiding veterans are currently in the NICS system.  They didn’t do anything wrong; they honorably served their country.  But when they sought VA counseling for a traumatic combat experience, the VA appointed a fiduciary to oversee their fiscal affairs and then took away their guns.  And, again, there are 150,000 honest veterans in the system.

What the Manchin bill is about is insuring that “bad guys” like veterans can’t get guns.  And, under Barack Obama’s “Executive Action #1,” the NICS list could soon include tens of millions of additional soldiers, police, firemen, and other law-abiding Americans.”

Taxes as a behavior modification mechanism . What they can’t pass legislatively they will try to accomplish through tax law

” The Supreme Court has ruled that the government can force you to buy a product as long as it’s called a “tax,” forging a new sword
aimed directly at the heart of the Second Amendment.

Here’s the link between taxes and gun rights. First, some historical framework. The Boston Tea Party was a precursor to the American Revolution. It began as a protest over Parliament’s imposing an unpopular tax on tea, a very popular drink at the time. More direct flash points were the battles at Lexington and Concord , where British troops attempted to
disarm local militias. American liberty was founded on the principles of fair taxation and
the right to keep and bear arms (among others, of course). “

As long as the progressives are in charge they will be attempting to cede our sovereignty to the UN .

” You might think that something so obviously menacing to one of our enumerated fundamental rights would receive a strong rebuke from our top government leaders. But you’d be wrong. This is President Barack Obama’s vision for America, and we’re expected to just go along with it.

In fact, a group of anti-gun members of the U.S. House of Representatives, led by U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.), went so far as to circulate a letter last week to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, in which they “strongly urge the United States to take a leadership role in pushing for a strong, verifiable Arms Trade Treaty.”

These House members insist that the treaty include “controls on a comprehensive list of weaponry, including small arms and light weapons,” as well as controls on ammunition. For good measure, they wrap their unconstitutional demands in the mantle of advancing “human rights” and preventing international violence.

Since when did it become fashionable for sitting members of Congress to lobby international thugs, tyrants and dictators against our own U.S. Constitution? ”

Wizbang presents another reason to look upon Google with a jaundiced eye .

” Second Amendment, Schmecond
Amendment. Google wants you to know that it is thinking of your “safety” as it announces that it has banned anything to do with firearms on its Google Shopping
service. “

You can say this , Obama and his cartel have been a boon to the firearms industry .

This article is a couple months old but I’m willing to bet that it’s news to most.

” Irony: Fear of anti-gun Obama causes Ruger to sell out of guns and suspend new orders .

Nothing makes a guy want to cling to his guns and God like having a communist living in the
White House. ”

” Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) , announced today that for the first quarter 2012, the Company has received orders for more than one million units. Therefore, the Company has
temporarily suspended the acceptance of new orders. “
