The slow death of Obama’s high speed rail continues

“This July we confidently predicted that
California Gov. Jerry Brown’s decision not to
exempt President Obama’s high-speed rail
plan from the California Environmental
Quality Act marked the beginning of the slow death .

Precient yes … but better still  revel in the irony …

” Fast forward to this June when the city of
Chowchilla filed suit to stop construction of
the project alleging that the High Speed Rail
Authority failed to conduct a proper
Environmental Impact Statement pursuant
to the California Environmental Quality Act
(CEQA) and the National Environmental
Protection Act (NEPA).
Studies show that the average time to
complete the NEPA process is 6.1 years.
And NEPA is designed to be a preventative
statute. Federal courts routinely issue
injunctions to stop projects before they ever
begin. “

Too Damn Much !

How Much Does the U.N. Cost Us?

“Most everyone knows the United States is the largest contributor to the United Nations and its affiliated funds, programs, and specialized agencies. But nailing down precisely how much we pay into the U.N. system every year is no easy task.”

For the big money crowd , Obama has been a great investment . The rate of return is just fantastic . It seems that a couple hundred thousand donated to Campaign 2008 yields tens or even hundreds of millions in return . What other investment can produce that rate of interest ?

“A one-sentence bill worth $300 million to a bank owned by a politically connected family that has doled out hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign donations is about to get a big push forward.

Set to be approved by the House Financial Services Committee on Thursday, the legislation would help Emigrant Savings Bank of New York sidestep a costly mandate of the Dodd-Frank financial reform law. No other bank in the country would be affected.”

This needs to be remembered in November .

” Two years ago today, May 26, 2010,President Obama traveled to Fremont,California to showcase a “brighter and more prosperous future” promised by the green-energy company Solyndra.

The solar panel maker went bankrupt last year, taking with it $535 million in taxpayer-funded loan guarantees. More than 1,000 people lost their jobs.

The Obama administration had cut corners to rush money to Solyndra, with some of the beneficiaries being top Obama fundraisers. Even as Solyndra failed, the administration considered giving it another $469 million. ”

Yet another scandal concealed by the partisan blinders of the water carrying LSM .
