When Bushies Blew A CIA Cover, It Was ‘Treason’; Now, It’s A Mistake

” Valerie Plame doesn’t deny that blowing the cover of the CIA station chief in Afghanistan is a serious matter. It’s just that, discussing the issue at a Wednesday evening forum sponsored by The Atlantic, Plame seemed to view the outing of the CIA’s top spy on the front lines in the Afghan war as more of an embarrassment than an outrage.

” My understanding is … it was a military aide who compiled this list of those that were greeting the president when he came,” Plame said. “Colossally stupid, but I think it was inadvertent. It was an error … really stupid. The White House apparently has said that they’re going to do an investigation, and they’ll find someone who’s really embarrassed at the end of it.”

The leak, if that’s what it can be called, happened over the weekend as President Obama made a surprise visit to Afghanistan. In a routine email to the press, the administration included a name with the description “Chief of Station” after it — a clear reference to the ranking CIA official in Kabul. It’s hard to imagine a more sensitive assignment in a more dangerous place, and blowing the station chief’s cover — in an email to 6,000 reporters, no less — will surely have repercussions.”

A couple of passing thoughts , Plame was a desk jockey in DC not a Chief-Of-Station in a war zone and she was not “outed” by the White House but through an idiotic remark to a reporter by an underling .

Can You Guess Which President Has Worst Record On ‘Income Inequality’?

” If Obama thinks he can pivot away from the failures of Obamacare towards the cause of relieving “income inequality,” he’s going to find even greater failures there already on the part of his administration.

As the video above from Fox News shows, the vast majority of gains in wealth have gone to the top earners, making income inequality increase drastically under Obama. In fact, of the last three presidents, the income gap didn’t change overall during the Bush years, increased second most during Clinton’s time, and has increased the most with only 5 years under Obama’s belt.”

Bush Had Higher Approval Rating Than Obama At This Point In His Presidency

” President George W. Bush held a higher approval rating in October of his fifth year in office than President Obama.

Obama’s approval rating stands at 37 percent with a 53 percent disapproval rating, according to an Associated Press/GfK poll released Wednesday October 9.

At the same point in the first year of his second term, Bush held a higher approval rating even as he battled criticisms of his handling of weeks-old Hurricane Katrina.

Bush held a 39 percent approval rating in an AP/Ipsos poll conducted between October 3-5, 2005.”

Biden Flashback: Don’t Trust A Spying President

” In today’s episode of “What’s good for me is not good for thee” we find then-Senator Joe Biden in 2006 pontificating on the evils of spying presidents. Funny how Joe’s position has “evolved” in seven years, huh?”

What a difference an administration makes .

Marathon Bombing Suspect Charged

” Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was charged Monday with conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction.

A federal court spokesman said Tsarnaev, 19, made his first court appearance on the charges stemming from last week’s finish line bombing from his hospital bed at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

“Approximately 30 seconds before the first explosion, he lifts his phone to his ear as if he is speaking on his cell phone, and keeps it there for approximately 18 seconds. A few seconds after he finishes the call, the large crowd of people around him can be seen reacting to the first explosion,” the document said.

“Virtually every head turns to the east [towards the finish line] and stares in that direction in apparent bewilderment and alarm. Bomber Two, virtually alone among the individuals in front of the restaurant, appears calm. He glances to the east and then calmly but rapidly begins moving west, away from the direction of the finish line.”

This must mean that Bush was right all along . If the Boston pressure cooker bombs are weapons of mass destruction then  Saddam’s Iraq was a veritable weapons of mass destruction Super-Mart .

This looks like a serious case of defining destruction down , to paraphrase the late Sen Moynihan . Could the Feds be doing this with an eye towards the future ? This precedent could come in handy when they decide that the Constitutionalists , Sovereign Citizens , Fundamentalists and Tea Partiers are getting a bit too uppity . Think about it . With this kind of liberal definition of WMD most of us have the makings of said weapons on the shelves of our garages .

Poll: No More Harvard, Yale Presidents!

” Despite electing Yale and Harvard graduates for the last four consecutive presidents, Americans overwhelmingly want the next president to come from a non-Ivy League school, according to a national poll of likely voters.

Rasmussen Reports found that just 5 percent think it’s better for American to have an Ivy president. A staggering 85 percent believe its better for presidents to come from a variety of schools, not just the elite eight.

President Obama attended Harvard Law. Both Bush’s went to Yale as did former President Clinton.

Unlike most polls, there was no partisan disagreement in Rasmussen’s survey.”

The Unprecedented Election

Something For Sullen Among Us …

Everybody Gets A Turn In The Wilderness

It’s Terrible. It’s Never Happened Before.

” A President despised by one party has won an election despite having the economy against him and a deteriorating situation in a country he invaded, and, despite growing whispers that he’s simply not up to the job, he wins narrowly in a victory fueled by highly-motivated occasional voters who marched out to support him.

The candidate beaten by this weak, lame-duck president had good qualifications on the key issue of the election. Sure, that candidate lacked charisma and warmth, and was a wealthy New Englander viewed skeptically by much of the country, but he did have a background which gave him inarguable authority to speak on the most important issue of the day.”

Read the whole thing , as they say , and be of good cheer . The tide will turn .

IBD catches more of Obama’s lies .

” “The truth is,” Obama says, “we tried (that) for almost a decade, and it didn’t work.”

Bush-era tax cuts and deregulation, he argues “resulted in the most sluggish job growth in
decades” along with “rising inequality, surpluses turned into deficits, culminating in the worst
economic crisis in our lifetimes.”
There’s just one problem. Obama’s got his history wrong.

First, Bush was no big deregulator. “

Having posted on this the other day in a much more serious tone , we found BFH’s take a lot more amusing . Beforewarned , NSFW … Contains scenes bound to offend .

” HBO Producers Use George Bush’s Head In Decapitation Scene
Their stupid ass excuse is “it was the only head we had available.” ”

“Really? Well, wait until you see all the imagery that I ran out of heads for. Sorry in advance all
you “haters,” it was unavoidable. ”

” Big Guy can’t do anything about the deficit because he can’t get the do-nothing Congress to work with him. He can’t do anything about the terrible economy (which he isn’t responsible for anyway…that honor goes to George W and his do-too-much Congress) because the do-nothing Congress won’t let him spend any more money.

This has some of our Dems rattled. They’re starting to ask “What is Big Guy responsible for?” And “what is the Big White really competent at?” So we’ve been tasked with coming up with a list. Here’s what we’ve got so far:

  • drone attacks
  • picking Green Energy winners
  • stonewalling
  • parties for Presidential Medal of Freedom winners ”

‘Nuff Said

The view through eyes that were a part of the search for OBL . Of course only a narcissist of Obama’s caliber or one of said narcissist’s sycophants could possibly believe that Osama’s death was the result of Obama’s efforts .

” As we mark the anniversary of Osama bin Laden’s death, President Obama deserves credit for making the right choice on taking out Public
Enemy No. 1. But his administration never would have had the opportunity to do the right thing had it not been for some extraordinary work during the George W. Bush administration. Much of that work has been denigrated by Obama as unproductive and contrary to American principles. ”

God bless these men and women who defend our way of life that we may enjoy peace here at home ,

Rudyard Kipling :

“I went into a public-’ouse to get a pint o’beer,

The publican ‘e up an’ sez, “We serve no red-coats here.”

The girls be’ind the bar they laughed an’ giggled fit to die,

O makin’ mock o’ uniforms that guard you while you sleep

Is cheaper than them uniforms, an’ they’re starvation cheap;

An’ hustlin’ drunken sodgers when they’re goin’ large a bit

Is five times better business than paradin’ in full kit ”

A better man than I …

Witness the differences in style , class , humility and emphasis exhibited by our leaders , both past and present , while speaking of the monumental events of their days , Courtesy of Michael Mukasey at WSJ :

Obama on the killing of Bin Laden :

I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority . . . even as I continued our broader effort. . . . Then, after years of painstaking work by my intelligence community I was briefed . . . I met repeatedly with my national security team . . . And finally last week I determined that I had enough intelligence to take action. . . . Today, at my direction . . .”

Notice a pattern ?

George Bush on the capture of Saddam Hussein :

“a tribute to our men and women now serving in Iraq.” He (GWB) attributed it to “the superb work of intelligence analysts who found the dictator’s footprints in a vast country. The operation was carried out with skill and precision by a brave fighting force. Our servicemen and women and our coalition allies have faced many dangers. . . . Their work continues, and so do the risks.”

“He did mention himself at the end: “Today, on behalf of the nation, I thank the members of our Armed Forces and I congratulate them.” “

Dwight D Eisenhower on the landings at Normandy :

“One week ago this morning there was established through your coordinated efforts our first foothold in northwestern Europe. High as was my preinvasion confidence in your courage, skill and effectiveness . . . your accomplishments . . . have exceeded my brightest hopes.”

“Eisenhower did mention himself at the end: “I truly congratulate you upon a brilliantly successful beginning. . . . Liberty loving people everywhere would today like to join me in saying to you, ‘I am proud of you.'”

Read the whole thing . Mr Mukasey offers a fine insight into the mind of the current Oval Office occupant and how much it differs from what we expect in a man of quality , grace , humility and strength .

Below I include a couple more that weren’t in the linked article , demonstrating I think , the same idea .

Ronald W Reagan on missile strikes against Gaddafi in response to proof of Libyan involvement with terror strikes :

“We Americans are slow to anger. We always seek peaceful avenues before resorting to the use of force—and we did. We tried quiet diplomacy, public condemnation, economic sanctions, and demonstrations of military force. None succeeded. Despite our repeated warnings, Qadhafi continued his reckless policy of intimidation, his relentless pursuit of terror. He counted on America to be passive. He counted wrong. I warned that there should be no place on Earth where terrorists can rest and train and practice their deadly skills. I meant it. I said that we would act with others, if possible, and alone if necessary to ensure that terrorists have no sanctuary anywhere. Tonight, we have.”
