” According to one account, Chick-fil-A’s corporate headquarters told its outlets to expect a 15 to 20 percent increase in business
yesterday, while the actual increase may be closer to something like 200 percent. I suspect that Chick-fil-A’s business is going to enjoy a
permanent step-up in business as a result of the Left’s attack. This makes all the more hilarious
Michael Hiltzik’s Los Angeles Times column the other day (I’m linking it here since nobody reads the LA Times any more, and no wonder) saying that Chick-fil-A’s owner Dan Cathy made a business mistake by speaking his mind on traditional marriage: “

Hot Air Reports

@dancathy just called me. #ChickFilA has already set a world record today, with 7 more hrs to go in the West. #OutOfChicken

— Rick Warren (@RickWarren) August 2, 2012

Not a word about today’s activities has been whispered on Chick-fil-A’s feed even though CFA has been trending on Twitter off and on all day. As noted in the earlier post, the suspicion is that the company’s lying low about what’s happening in order to extricate itself from the front line of the culture war, but I wonder if today’s outpouring will draw some sort of recognition tomorrow. If Dan Cathy’s willing to tout the numbers to Rick Warren, presumably an official acknowledgment and thank you is on the way.”

And on the 7th day , we rest

” Chick-fil-A Inc., the Atlanta-based fast-food chain feuding with gay-rights advocates over some executives’ stance on marriage, has
served up two hidden billionaires.”

One can’t argue with their business model .

” Chick-fil-A generated $492 million in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization on revenue of $1.12 billion in 2011, PrivCo said. It added that the
company’s 44 percent Ebitda margin was “virtually unheard of in the restaurant industry.

The chain has the biggest sales per unit in fast-food, according to QSR Magazine. In 2011, the company generated gross sales of $
2.9 million per location, outpacing the average unit sales of runner-up McDonald’s Corp. (MCD) by $400,000, the magazine said
in its August 2012 issue. ”

And they do it with 15% less operating hours .

” “It is a very impressive business story,” said Sam Hamadeh, CEO of PrivCo, in a telephone interview. “Whatever people think of the politics, when you look at how
we quantify the amount of money they are forgoing every year by being closed on Sundays, you have to respect that.” ”

You have to respect people that put their faith ahead of their pocketbooks .

Boycott away leftist haters . No matter what you do , the Cathys will sleep well .
