Sheldon Silver, New York Assembly Speaker, Faces Arrest On Corruption Charges

” Federal authorities are expected to arrest Sheldon Silver, the powerful speaker of the New York State Assembly, on corruption charges on Thursday, people with knowledge of the matter said. The case is likely to throw Albany into disarray at the beginning of a new session.

The investigation that led to the expected charges against Mr. Silver, a Democrat from the Lower East Side of Manhattan who has served as speaker for more than two decades, began after Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo in March abruptly shut down an anticorruption commission he had created in 2013.

Details of the specific charges to be brought against Mr. Silver were unclear on Wednesday night, but one of the people with knowledge of the matter said they stemmed from payments that Mr. Silver received from a small law firm that specializes in seeking reductions of New York City real estate taxes. The total amount of the payments was unclear, but another person has said they were substantial and were made over several years.

Mr. Silver failed to list the payments from the firm, Goldberg & Iryami, on his annual financial disclosure filings with the state, as required.”

God bless Preet Bharara and the Federal prosecutor’s office . It looks like Gov Cuomo’s shutdown of the Moreland commission was not enough to save one of the Dem’s favorite sons . Heres hoping Silver finishes his days in an 8×8 cell . Wishful thinking , I know , but one can hope .

Are Democrats In Denial About Obamacare’s Midterm Consequences?

Dem's 2014 Campaign Slogan

”  Democratic leaders claim the bungled launch of Obamacare is just the latest news sensation — a media-stirred tempest that looks in the heat of the moment like it could upend the midterm election, but ends up fizzling well before voters head to the polls.

Some party strategists say they’re in denial.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said at a forum hosted by BuzzFeed recently that the rollout won’t “hurt us in 2014,” adding that “we’re proud” of the law. Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, in a recent appearance on CNN, went so far as to assert that Obamacare would be “an advantage” for Democratic candidates next year.

“  Democrats will run on the Affordable Care Act and win,” she has also told reporters.

The White House, meanwhile, has come across as equally dismissive of Obamacare’s consequences for 2014.

“The fact is that [the president] is focused on delivering the access to quality and affordable health insurance to the American people that the Affordable Care Act promises. He’s not concerned about the politics of that,” White House press secretary Jay Carney recently said.”

Denial ? What denial ?

Reading The Tea Leaves: An Historical Republican Opportunity

” Tuesday’s results were not good for folks living in New York City or Virginia. The former will be saddled with a communist sympathizer for a mayor, and the latter will have to suffer with having a crook for a governor. The most that New Yorkers can hope for is that Andrew Cuomo prevents Bill de Blasio from finally bankrupting the city. The most that Virginians can hope for is that the law finally catches up with Terry McAuliffe.

For those of us who do not reside in either place, however, there is a silver lining. Ken Cuccinelli ran a terrible campaign until very late in the game; the Republican establishment failed to give him the requisite support; and the government shutdown infuriated the federal workers living in Northern Virginia, causing them to turn out for the Democratic Party. The good news, however, is that, if he had had a week more, Cuccinelli would nonetheless have won. His surge in the last week of the campaign was a function of his decision to make Obamacare the issue on which he ran.

Had Cuccinelli won, there would be panic in Washington, and it might even have affected the White House. But he lost, and Barack Obama is nothing if not vain. This is a man who cannot admit that he made a mistake. Anyone else would have dumped the Attorney General who brought us Fast and Furious. Anyone else would have cleaned house in the State Department after Benghazi. Anyone else would have made Kathleen Sebelius jump off a cliff.”

The accompanying illustration says it all : ” If you can’t see freedom , you suck.” So what does that say about the GOP in recent years ? All they can sell is their souls to the lobbyists .

Democratic Congressman: ‘Not Fair’ To Subject Congress To Obamacare Just Like Everyone Else

“Rep. John Larson (D., Conn.), is saying that “this is simply not fair” – as key staff members head for the exits to avoid Obamacare.

… many on Capitol Hill fear it could lead to a brain drain” and notes that “[t]he problem is far more acute in the House, where lawmakers and aides are generally younger and less wealthy.”

Mr Larson , we are of the opinion that there is little brain to drain in Congress . Politics is a magnet for the mediocre and you are living proof . The truly smart excel in the real world and have no need of attaching themselves to the public teat .

” What? Obamacare disproportionally hurts those with lower incomes? It may come as a surprise, but it shouldn’t. We’ve known this since before the legislation even passed.

More to the point, why did Rep. Larson vote to impose on the country a health coverage system that “is simply not fair”?

We hope you and your fellow Reps and Senators choke on it . That will be “fair” .

Terry McAuliffe Explains Why He Left His Wife In The Delivery Room To Go To A Fundraiser

“As Buzzfeed’s Andrew Kaczynski reported yesterday, Terry McAuliffe shares in his 1997 book “What a Party,” a story about the time he left his wife, Dorothy, and his crying newborn child in the car so he could attend a Democratic fundraiser.

In the video above, McAuliffe explains the episode in an audio version of his book:

Dorothy was starting to well up in the backseat. She was having trouble understanding how I could be taking my wife and newborn baby to a fund-raiser on our way home from the hospital. We got to the dinner and by then Dorothy was in tears, and I left her with Justin and went inside.”

Think of his lies about his “green” car company and of course his long association with our most ethical president Bill (Blue Dress) Clinton .

Public Outrage As Obamacare Is Used For Illegal Alien Voter Registration

” Democrats have one primary goal.  They want the one essential ingredient for carrying out their other plans (such as undermining the Second Amendment or socializing the economy). This goal is to get voters, enough voters that the Democrat Party will have a perpetual majority. It buys illegal immigrants by promising them free foodputting them on welfare, and subsidizing the same education Americans can no longer afford. Democrats know that, once amnesty occurs, the immigrants will vote Democrat. In the same way, Democrats demonizes conservative blacks (such as the recent vile attacks against Dr. Benjamin Carson) because, as Col. Allen West said, they can’t risk losing control over a black community that has been brainwashed through welfare and victim politics into voting Democrat.”

State Sen. Malcolm Smith, City Councilman Halloran Arrested In ‘Bribery Plot’ To Rig Mayor Race

” State Sen. Malcolm Smith and city Councilman Dan Halloran were arrested this morning on charges they plotted to rig this year’s mayoral election through fraud and bribes.

The pols allegedly formed an alliance built on cash payments and fraud to get Smith — one of the state’s top Democrats — placed on the GOP mayoral ballot, sources said.

FBI agents arrested them both at their Queens homes shortly after 6 a.m.

“I have no idea,” Republican Halloran, in handcuffs, told a Post reporter when asked if he knew why he was being arrested.

“I’m sure the truth will come out once I have an opportunity to find out what’s going on.” “

Don Young, And The Democrats’ Homer Simpson Problem

” The smart set at the Washington Post figures the Republican Party has an “Archie Bunker problem.”  The reason?  A single comment about “wetbacks” by Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska), and the Washington Post springs into action.

There is only one Don Young in the Republican Party.  But the Democrats have a “Homer Simpson problem” that dwarfs any stupid comment by a single congressman.

” The Democrats have become the party of Homer Simpson — a party reliant on millions of low-information voters seeking something for nothing.  Like the Democrat dependency class, Homer Simpson (D-Springfield) relied on Mojo the Helper Monkey to feed him and even wipe the sauce from his face.  The pair eventually gorged themselves into a stupor.

The Democratic Party has become the party that promises millions of helper monkeys.  But those of us who work and pay taxes are the helper monkeys for Homer Simpsons across America.

Don’t think you should pay for your own college education?  Mojo will make sure people who long ago paid for theirs will pay for yours. Think your neighbor should pay for your health care? Mojo will take care of it.  Need a free cell phone?  Mojo paid for his, but now he’ll pay for yours.

Homer has no shame letting Mojo do all the work.  Homer’s on the take.”

Top Donors Threaten Dems: Do The Right Thing On Guns, Or No More Money

A Product Of One Of Our Moral Arbiters

” With red state Democratic Senators remaining skittish about embracing Obama’s gun proposals, at least two top Democratic donors are stepping forward and vowing to withhold any and all future financial contributions from any Democrats who don’t support the centerpiece of Obama’s plan: Expanded background checks.

Kenneth Lerer, a New York businessman who is chairman of Buzzfeed.com, and David Bohnett, a technology entrepreneur and philanthopist based in Los Angeles, are both major financial supporters of Democratic candidates, having each given scores of large contributions over the years. They are both key players in the political fundraising world and wield influence among other donors and fundraisers.

Neither will give another dime to any Senate Democrat who does not support expanded background checks, I’m told — and both will suggest to other donors that they do the same.”

The Perpetual Campaign: How Obama’s Left-Wing Partisans Plan to Invade and Destroy Texas

” With much fanfare and hullabaloo, President Obama’s former campaign, Organizing for Action, recently launched a 10-year effort to turn red Texas into a true swing state. The plan, officially unveiled in a meeting in Austin on February 26 by Obama operative Jeremy Bird, hails the onset of Battleground Texas. Texas is not a swing state, at least not yet, but Battleground Texas intends to treat it like one in a sustained and systematic way so that it becomes one.

Democratic groups have tried, and failed, to turn back the clock on Texas’ shift from Democrat fortress as late as the 1980s to the Republican bastion that it is now without success. The most publicized of these, the Lone Star Project led by Washington, D.C., activist Matt Angle, was funded by trial lawyer cash to fight tort reform, voter ID, and push for left-wing policies. Its goal was to elect a Democrat speaker of the Texas House of Representatives by 2010 and elect a Democrat to statewide office — any statewide office. That year, though, Republicans made unprecedented gains and turned the Democratic caucus in the state House into a tiny club. Several Democratic officeholders defected to the GOP, further reducing the party’s power. Gov. Rick Perry trounced Democrat challenger Bill White, and no Democrat came close to winning any statewide office. Angle’s Lone Star Project is a lavishly funded failure.

Bird’s effort is different. ”

REPUBLICANS MUST FORCE DEMOCRATS TO OWN GUN CONTROL

” Guns will be the key issue in 2014, good news for the pro-2nd Amendment Republican Party, which has Democrats backed into a corner in an untenable position on gun control.

Universal background checks are insidious, and the legislation the Senate is considering in April will not only force even secondary gun sales to be done through the auspices of a government representative with a Federal Firearm Licence but will also ban private gun sales and create a national gun registry.

This means it will bar grandpas from passing their favorite rifle to their grandsons and will require the government to create a list of every gun owner and every gun owned in America in order to be enforceable.

Universal background check legislation has made it this deep into the legislative process for one reason only–namely, because these implications have not been explained to the American people. Republicans need to explain these dangers and force Democrats to own gun control in 2014.”

Democratic Officials and Activists Linked to ACORN Plead Guilty in Voter Fraud Case

” Thank goodness voter fraud isn’t an issue, or we might have reason to worry about the integrity of the election process. But then again this is New York, so we already know the election process has no integrity.

A total of four Democratic officials and political operatives have now pleaded guilty to voter fraud-related felony charges in an alleged scheme to steal a New York election.

Former Troy Democratic City Clerk William McInerney, Democratic Councilman John Brown, and Democratic political operatives Anthony Renna and Anthony DeFiglio have entered guilty pleas in the case, in which numerous signatures were allegedly forged on absentee ballots in the 2009 Working Families Party primary, the political party that was associated with the now-defunct community group, ACORN.

But don’t worry, according to the ACORN gang this is just normal politics that no one cares about.

In November 2009, Democratic operative Anthony DeFiglio told New York State police investigators that faking absentee ballots was a commonplace and accepted practice in political circles, all intended to swing an election.”

Senate Democrats’ Budget Includes Nearly $1 Trillion In New Taxes

” The first budget from Senate Democrats in four years includes nearly $1 trillion in new taxes but would not balance the budget. The budget would dedicate $100 billion to economic stimulus in the form of infrastructure spending and job training.”

More union gifts , graft and no balanced budget …

” The Ryan budget would balance in 10 years without raising taxes and by reducing spending over the next decade by $5.7 trillion compared to the CBO baseline.”

From Smart Girl Politics

” Recently I’ve been thinking about young voters (age 18-29) and trying to understand why most of them are attracted to the Democrat Party. In 2008, 45% of voters age 18-29 identified as Democrat, and 27% identified as Republican (Soltis, 2009). I will admit that I’m not around this age group often, so I have no insight into the mind of a young voter. I have a three year old and a six year old. My kids think about Spiderman and Barbie dolls, not political parties.

In 2012, unfortunately President Barack Obama captured a large majority of the African-American vote, the Latino vote, and the Asian vote. He also captured 60% of voters age 18-29. (Mataconis, 2012). As a result, the rapid decline of this great nation continues. The majority of Americans think our country is headed in the wrong direction and that we aren’t better off than we were four years ago. So, what’s the attraction to the Democratic Party for young voters?

I have a few opinions:

  1. Its “cool” to be a Democrat. I think it’s safe to say that young people worry about being cool, or part of the “in” crowd. I guess it’s considered cool nowadays to look up to someone like Beyonce or Eva Longoria, both out-spoken Obama supporters. Some young adults may think it’s cool to put on a pair of skinny jeans and fairy boots or a cute black dress, go to a trendy bar that sells over—priced drinks (with little alcohol) and bash Republicans. Aren’t Republicans rich, evil white guys plotting world domination or toothless, uneducated, unwashed rednecks from the “slave states?” The Democrats are the cool crowd that cares about global warming, women’s rights, and income inequality. I guess it’s also way cool to have a President that smokes, shoots hoops, and cares more about March Madness than the national debt.

I have to be honest. This is truly something I don’t understand. When I think of the word “cool,” Dianne Feinstein, Hillary Clinton, and Nancy Pelosi DO NOT come to mind. I think of Dana Loesch or S.E. Cupp. These ladies wear leather!! I know there is a huge age difference, but I seriously doubt that Nancy, Dianne, or Hillary EVER rocked a pair of leather pants! “

20 Of The Most Embarrassing Moments In The History Of The Democrat Party

” For example, one will virtually never hear that the Palmer Raids, Prohibition, or American eugenics were thoroughly progressive phenomena. These are sins America itself must atone for. Meanwhile, real or alleged “conservative” misdeeds — say McCarthyism — are always the exclusive fault of conservatives and a sign of the policies they would repeat if given power. The only culpable mistake that liberals make is failing to fight “hard enough” for their principles. Liberals are never responsible for historic misdeeds because they feel no compulsion to defend the inherent goodness of America. Conservatives, meanwhile, not only take the blame for events not of their own making that they often worked the most assiduously against, but find themselves defending liberal misdeeds in order to defend America herself. — Jonah Goldberg

1) The Trail of Tears (1838): The first Democrat President, Andrew Jackson and his successor Martin Van Buren, herded Indians into camps, tormented them, burned and pillaged their homes and forced them to relocate with minimal supplies. Thousands died along the way.

2) Democrats Cause The Civil War (1860): The pro-slavery faction of the Democrat Party responded to Abraham Lincoln’s election by seceding, which led to the Civil War.

3) Formation of the KKK (1865): Along with 5 other Confederate veterans, Democrat Nathan Bedford Forrest created the KKK.”

Forbes Lists America’s 20 ‘Most Miserable Cities’; Guess What The Vast Majority Have in Common?

Believe it or not , this is no third world slum ... This is Detroit

” Forbes just published its 20 Most Miserable Cities List for 2013. The magazine left off several obviously more “worthy” contenders, perhaps because its decisions to include and exclude certain criteria were, to say the least, more than a little odd.

I have listed the magazine’s top twenty following the jump, along with each city’s mayor and that person’s political leanings, showing a commonality the magazine’s Kurt Badenhausen failed to observe:

20. Youngstown, Ohio — Charles P. Sammarone, Democrat
19. Gary, Indiana — Karen Freeman-Wilson, Democrat
18. Poughkeepsie, New York — John C. Tkazyik, Republican
17. Cleveland, Ohio — Frank Jackson, Democrat
16. Atlanta, Georgia — Kasim Reed, Democrat
15. Atlantic City, New Jersey — Lorenzo Langford, Democrat
14. Milwaukee, Wisconsin — Tom Barrett, Democrat
13. Camden, New Jersey — Dana Redd, Democrat
12. St. Louis, Missouri — Francis Slay, Democrat
11. Toledo, Ohio — Michael Bell, ran as an independent but is a lifelong Democrat
10. New York, New York — Michael Bloomberg, Nanny State “Independent” since 2007; Democrat before 2001; ran as a Republican in 2001 just to get a spot on the ballot.
9. Waukegan, Illinois — Robert G. Sabonjian, Democrat (see first paragraph following this list)
8. Stockton, California — Anthony Silva, a Republican sworn into office by Democrat and former California Assembly Speaker Willie Brown.
7. Warren, Michigan — James Fouts, Republican
6. Vallejo, California — Osby Davis, Not determinable
5. Modesto, California — Garrad Marsh, “non-partisan,” clear Democrat sympathies
4. Chicago, Illinois — Rahm Emanuel, Democrat
3. Rockford, Illinois — Larry Morrissey, Independent
2. Flint, Michigan — Dayne Walling, “nonpartisan,” formerly worked for U.S. Rep. Dale Kildee, a Democrat
1. Detroit, Michigan — Dave Bing, Democrat

1/3 of Congressional Black Caucus Members Were Named in Ethics Probes

” Some of this level of criminality can be explained by putting the Congressional Black Caucus members in context within the Democratic Party and the urban political machine. But that doesn’t quite cover it either.

What is notable about the Congressional Black Caucus members is how sloppy and unqualified they often seem to be. We often poke fun at Sheila Jackson Lee, but she’s not exactly an exception. There’s a basic gap between them and many high ranking African-American Democrats.”

MAKE OBAMA TRAVEL PATH OF BROKEN GLASS

” In the mid-1970s, the Republican Party was in complete disarray. Watergate had taken its toll.  Democrats swept into office by huge margins, where they held a super majority in the Senate and nearly 300 votes in the House. The conservative movement was decimated but within the Senate a rump group of conservative senators decided to fight back. They did not take to the microphones. They did not hold press conference.  Rather, they used the rules of the institution to get Democrats and liberal Republicans to take dozens of “tough votes” on “killer” amendments to defeat a slew liberal legislation. Despite having only 39 Republicans, including RINOs like Jacob Javits (R.-N.Y.), they defeated a slew of liberal agenda items. Those roll call votes were the very issues used to defeat all those liberal senators in the 1980 Reagan landslide, including Javits, who lost in a GOP primary that year.

In other words, they made their opponents crawl over miles of glass. The lesson lost on the modern GOP.

Boehner has engaged in the series of one-on-one negotiations with the president while his members have been sitting ideally waiting for news of the coming capitulation.

A better strategy would have been to put them to work. The speaker could use his ability to schedule votes and committee hearings to being a series of bills to the floor that would drive a wedge between the president and his Democrat allies. Forcing a series of uncomfortable votes would ultimately create back pressure on the President from members of his own party.”

Democratic Business Owners In MN: Sheesh, These Taxes Sure Do Look Troublesome

” As its neighbors look to cut and simplify tax systems to attract businesses to their states, Minnesota’s Gov. Mark Dayton has a different idea:

For generations, Minnesotans lived out the progressive argument that high taxes and high services were what gave the state its fabled quality of life. But the patience of business owners is being tried more than ever, as Dayton and the Democrats who now control the Capitol mull a menu of tax increases that would primarily hit company ledgers — just as most states are going the opposite way.

Dayton has proposed tax changes he says would make the system fairer and also bring in $2 billion in new revenue. Much of the gain would come from a state sales tax on “business-to-business” purchases like legal, accounting, banking and printing costs. Few states tax such services. He would also boost Minnesota’s personal income tax rates from eighth to fourth highest in the nation, behind only Hawaii, California and Oregon.

There are some business owners, even lifelong Democrats, who are feeling the pinch and wondering if it’s worth it:”

Senate Democrats Talk 2014, Immigration and Guns at Retreat

” “It [was all about] the 2014 line up, just going through it,” said Sen. Tom Udallof New Mexico, who noted that the discussion was led by new Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Michael Bennet of Colorado.

Udall said that the Democrats in Annapolis, Md., for the retreat will also discuss sequestration, immigration and ways to reduce gun violence before wrapping up on Wednesday.”

Talking about everything that will maintain their power but nothing on what they are actually  being paid for . Nary a word spoken of passing a budget … You do remember what a budget is don’t you Senators ?

Blacks Should Embrace NRA Gun Proposal

” What is the essence of freedom? Property and a gun.

I never met my grandfather, but that’s the lesson I took from his life. He was one generation out of slavery and bought property and guns.

It’s so predictable that today’s discussion on gun control is similar to the noise we hear from liberals every time there is a mass shooting. What is new this time is that the NRA, under the direction of Wayne LaPierre, David Keene and Asa Hutchinson, has put forth a concrete plan that most American parents should appreciate will keep children safer at school.

Why is it that liberals find it sensible to expand the reach of government each time a crisis arises, yet solutions that protect our freedoms and our ability to control our own lives they invariably find irrational?

Consider even the question of cost, which has been one point of contention regarding the NRA’s proposal to provide armed security for our schools. Does anyone believe there are not significant enforcement costs in expanding our gun control laws? ”

KKK Terrorist Arm of the Democratic Party

” On page 146 of his book, Professor Foner wrote: “Founded in 1866 as a Tennessee social club, the Ku Klux Klan spread into nearly every Southern state, launching a ‘reign of terror‘ against Republican leaders black and white.”  Page 184 of his book contains the definitive statements:  “In effect, the Klan was a military force serving the interests of the Democratic party, the planter class, and all those who desired the restoration of white supremacy.  It aimed to destroy the Republican party’s infrastructure, undermine the Reconstruction state, reestablish control of the black labor force, and restore racial subordination in every aspect of Southern life.” ”

History Of The Democrats And The KKK … (Why the Democrats Started The KKK )

” The original targets of the Ku Klux Klan were Republicans, both black and white, according to a new television program and book, which describe how the Democrats started the KKK and for decades harassed the GOP with lynchings and threats.

An estimated 3,446 blacks and 1,297 whites died at the end of KKK ropes from 1882 to 1964.

The documentation has been assembled by David Barton of Wallbu More..ilders and published in his book “Setting the Record Straight: American History in Black & White,” which reveals that not only did the Democrats work hand-in-glove with the Ku Klux Klan for generations, they started the KKK and endorsed its mayhem.

“Of all forms of violent intimidation, lynchings were by far the most effective,” Barton said in his book. “Republicans often led the efforts to pass federal anti-lynching laws and their platforms consistently called for a ban on lynching. Democrats successfully blocked those bills and their platforms never did condemn lynchings.”

Further, the first grand wizard of the KKK was honored at the 1868 Democratic National Convention, no Democrats voted for the 14th Amendment to grant citizenship to former slaves and, to this day, the party website ignores those decades of racism, he said.

“Although it is relatively unreported today, historical documents are unequivocal that the Klan was established by Democrats and that the Klan played a prominent role in the Democratic Party,” Barton writes in his book. “In fact, a 13-volume set of congressional investigations from 1872 conclusively and irrefutably documents that fact.

“The Klan terrorized black Americans through murders and public floggings; relief was granted only if individuals promised not to vote for Republican tickets, and violation of this oath was punishable by death,” he said. “Since the Klan targeted Republicans in general, it did not limit its violence simply to black Republicans; white Republicans were also included.”

Barton also has covered the subject in one episode of his American Heritage Series of television programs, which is being broadcast now on Trinity Broadcasting Network and Cornerstone Television. ”

No deal, It Seems, And Now Dems Unhinged

” Boehner said Republicans would seek to protect as many taxpayers as possible and would therefore have a back-up bill protecting all taxpayers making less than a $1 million from the expiration of the Bush tax cuts. (“The White House offer yesterday was essentially $1.3 trillion in new revenues for only $850 billion in net spending reductions. That’s not balanced in my opinion. So at the same time that we’re going to continue to talk with the president, we’re going to also move Plan B. I think we all know that every income tax filer in America is going to pay higher rates come January 1 unless Congress acts. So I believe it’s important that we protect as many American taxpayers as we can. Our Plan B would protect American taxpayers who make $1 million or less, and have all of their current rates extended.”)

That $1 million compromise, by the way, had already been voted on by the Democratic Senate in 2010 when it was supported by every Democrat including Sens. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.). “

OBAMA’S AMERICA MOST DIVIDED IN 70 YEARS

” “I believe we can seize this future together because we are not as divided as our politics suggests. We’re not as cynical as the pundits believe. We are greater than the sum of our individual ambitions, and we remain more than a collection of red states and blue states. We are and forever will be the United States of America.” – Obama’s 2012 victory speech

So much for that.

In the aftermath of the 2012 election, the vast majority of states are either entirely blue or entirely red, their entire legislatures and governors of one party or the other. As the Wall Street Journal reports, “In 46 states, the same party now controls both chambers of the legislature, creating distinct divisions between red and blue states.” That’s the highest number in 70 years. When governors are counted as well, there are just 12 states across the country with divided government. A full 38 states are of a single party.

If this continues, we are watching the end of America as we know it. “
