The NSA Is Building The Country’s Biggest Spy Center

” Under construction by contractors with top-secret clearances, the blandly named Utah Data Center is being built for the National Security Agency. A project of immense secrecy, it is the final piece in a complex puzzle assembled over the past decade. Its purpose: to intercept, decipher, analyze, and store vast swaths of the world’s communications as they zap down from satellites and zip through the underground and undersea cables of international, foreign, and domestic networks. The heavily fortified $2 billion center should be up and running in September 2013. Flowing through its servers and routers and stored in near-bottomless databases will be all forms of communication, including the complete contents of private emails, cell phone calls, and Google searches, as well as all sorts of personal data trails—parking receipts, travel itineraries, bookstore purchases, and other digital “pocket litter.” It is, in some measure, the realization of the “total information awareness” program created during the first term of the Bush administration—an effort that was killed by Congress in 2003 after it caused an outcry over its potential for invading Americans’ privacy.

But “this is more than just a data center,” says one senior intelligence official who until recently was involved with the program. The mammoth Bluffdale center will have another important and far more secret role that until now has gone unrevealed. It is also critical, he says, for breaking codes. And code-breaking is crucial, because much of the data that the center will handle—financial information, stock transactions, business deals, foreign military and diplomatic secrets, legal documents, confidential personal communications—will be heavily encrypted. According to another top official also involved with the program, the NSA made an enormous breakthrough several years ago in its ability to cryptanalyze, or break, unfathomably complex encryption systems employed by not only governments around the world but also many average computer users in the US. The upshot, according to this official: “Everybody’s a target; everybody with communication is a target.” “

While this article is a couple months old we thought it more relevant than ever given recent revelations of the NSA demanding ALL Verizon phone records .

We are in a battle for our privacy and the adversary is not international … no , the enemy is our own government . We are paying for the weapons of the destruction of liberty . Our fore-fathers would be appalled . The federal government makes King George look like a benevolent uncle in comparison .

Evidence: FBI Tracking And Monitoring Americans Via Smart Phones

“Hacker group Antisec has leaked what it says is evidence that the FBI is actively monitoring the communications of every American using an iPhone.

The hackers released a statement  Tuesday claiming that it had obtained detailed information on some 12 million iphone users, taken from an FBI agent’s laptop.”

Why does SSA and NOAA need ammo ?

” First the Department of Homeland Security ordered 450 MILLION rounds of ammunition , then the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) submitted an order
for 46,000 rounds of high powered ammo, and now Business Insider reports that the Social Security Administration is asking to
purchase 174,000 rounds of .357 Sig 125 grain bonded jacketed hollow point bullets. ”

There is something rotten afoot . Does anyone wonder why our domestic law enforcement agencys seem to be preparing for war ?

We tip our hats to instapundit for calling our attention to this very informative yet disturbing Slashdot article on domestic drones and their bases .

Who knew there were so many already ? A cynic amongst us might be led to believe some sort of battlespace preparation was underway .

“We like to think of the drone war
as something far away, fought in the deserts of Yemen or the mountains of Afghanistan. But we now know it’s closer than we thought, writes Lorenzo Franceschi-Bicchierai at Danger Room.

There are 64 drone bases on American soil. That includes 12 locations housing Predator and Reaper unmanned aerial vehicles, which can be armed. ”

The good folks at Slashdot also provide a handy link to Public Intelligence which has taken the trouble to create a map of domestic drone sites .

Droning On …. And On

I don’t know what to make of this . I’ve never heard of the site before and have no time at present to investigate but it certainly makes for an interesting read . See what you think . Of course , beware , perhaps visiting the link will get you on the White House “Kill” list .

“WHI:  Right – now ask yourself this…why is a president so consumed by this one little part of the job?  Now that may sound…I don’t mean to dismiss the taking of human life as a little part of the job…but hell…fact is…I don’t know of a president who has ever taken such…personal interest…I’m gonna come right out and call it pleasure, ok?  Barack Obama takes personal pleasure in using those drones.  Now why is that?  ‘Cause that kind of obsession – that ain’t normal.  He’s a lazy slob of a president – but that damn drone program has his full attention.  He love’s the sh-t outta those godd—mn drones.  He spends hours watching television, or flying around giving another speech – but he don’t miss one of those kill meetings.

So ask yourself – WHY?  And I’ll tell ya that once you figure out that, then you see the big picture.  You see what’s going on here – you see the payoff.  You see how odd things he’s said in the past…how they now make a hell of a lot more sense now.  You see what a second Obama term really means for us.  You see why the military is getting more and more nervous about this guy…you see why it’s got somebody like the Old Man so upset and so damn afraid.  You have…just like I did…you have your own John 9:30 moment.

(Pause)

…Obama loves them drones.  He has made them a personal priority above all else.”
