Sen. Sessions Releases Lengthy Timeline Of Obama Administration’s Dismantling Of Immigration Law

” As Republicans work to overcome a Democratic filibuster of a House-passed Department of Homeland Security bill that blocks President Barack Obama’s executive amnesty, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) is highlighting the Obama administration’s long history of dismantling immigration laws.

In a lengthy timeline released Monday, Sessions — the chairman of the Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest — lists every instance of the Obama administration ignoring, rewriting, delaying and breaking the nation’s immigration laws.

The timeline begins in January 2009 with the administration ending worksite enforcement actions and, 50 pages later, ends on February 13, 2015 with the House Judiciary Committee’s revelation that the administration included a “sneaky” avenue for illegal immigrants granted deferred status to be placed on a pathway to citizenship.”

Poll: Latino Voters Want More, More, More

” A new poll of Latino voters finds that most want President Obama to issue more executive orders to cover all illegal immigrants and protect them from deportation if Congress doesn’t agree to comprehensive immigration reform.

The Latino Decisions survey found that 73 percent of the 405 registered voters polled want “additional executive orders” to protect immigrant workers not impacted by Obama’s decision last week targeted at four to five million parents facing deportation.

“ We would prefer much more,” said Oscar Chacon, executive director of the National Alliance of Latin American and Caribbean Communities.

He added that 2016 presidential candidates should be welcoming to immigrants or face a voter backlash. “We will make sure that it is a central issue in the coming election,” he said.

The poll, conducted on behalf of Presente.org and Mi Familia Vota, also found that 64 percent of the Latino voters know “somebody who is an undocumented immigrant.” Some 42 percent said that they were both a friend and a family member.

Obama’s move won overwhelming support from those polled, with 89 percent supporting it strongly or somewhat strongly.

“ This 89 percent is the highest and most unified we have ever found,” said Matt Barreto, co-founder of Latino Decisions.

Republicans took a big hit in the poll, with most, 64 percent, blaming Republicans for inaction on immigration reform. “

Given the oft-stated fact that we all came from immigrants at one time or another , which is true , we still cannot recall any of our immigrant fore-bearers either expecting or receiving the kind of special treatment now deemed to be deserved by the latest influx of foreigners . Since when is everyone “entitled” to citizenship ?

” Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) says that the newly launched Congressional Full Employment Caucus will “give President Obama a number of executive orders that he can sign.”

“ We will be answering the call of all of America because people need work and we’re not doing right by them by creating work,” Jackson Lee said. “I believe this caucus will put us on the right path and we’ll give President Obama a number of executive orders that he can sign with pride and strength.” “

Cruz: 4 Reasons Obama’s Use Of Executive Orders ‘Ought To Concern Everyone’

” “We are ruled by laws and not men. And no man is above the law — especially the President.”

This was the theme of Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) conversation with Glenn Beck on The Blaze’s radio show Tuesday, and the same message Cruz has vocalized since the President’s State of the Union address one week ago.

If a president can pick and choose which laws to follow, he is no longer a president,” Cruz said. “And that is dangerous.”

In the 25-minute segment (listen in the Sound Cloud above) Cruz gives several reasons he’s frustrated with the Administration. Here’s four: “

Charles Krauthammer Explains Obama’s Lawlessness in 50 Seconds

” The executive order debate resurfaced when Obama announced at his State of the Union address, “I will issue an Executive Order requiring federal contractors to pay their federally funded employees a fair wage of at least $10.10 an hour.”

Heritage Foundation Legal Fellow Andrew Kloster, who has argued that Obama’s unilaterally raising the minimum wage is likely unlawful, told The Foundry that Krauthammer is absolutely correct that the President Obama has taken an unlawful “go it alone” approach.

“ Whether it is making unlawful payments to congressional health care plansmaking recess appointments in violation of the Constitution, or urging federal contractors to violate the WARN Act,” Kloster said, “this administration has taken numerous actions that are abusive or plainly unlawful.””

Holder Confirms Obama Ready To Use Executive Order On Guns ‘In Absence Of Meaningful Action’ By Congress

” “And on the subject of the use of the president’s authority, my hope is – and I would argue that he take whatever action is possible, as he has done in a number of steps already and as you have done in trying to clarify the mental health issues that have to be reported to the NIC system, my hope is that additional measures, executive actions are contemplated under that authority,” Blumenthal continued.

“ The president – it is his intention to again try to work with Congress, but in the absence of meaningful action to explore all the possibilities and use all the powers that he has to, frankly, just protect the American people,” Holder replied.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) asked Holder to explain the constitutional authority under which Obama has decided to grab his pen and paper in lieu of the legislative branch.”

CNN Poll: 67% Oppose Obama’s Executive Agenda

” During his speech last night, Obama unveiled a raft of executive orders and also promised to enact gun control measures “with or without Congress.”

However, viewers reacted negatively to Obama’s plan to bypass lawmakers. They were asked, “In general, would you rather see Barack Obama attempt to reach a bipartisan compromise with Congress on major issues, or would you rather see Obama take unilateral action without Congress to make changes in government policy that are not supported by Republicans?”

Just 30% said they want Obama to take unilateral action, with 67% opposing his executive agenda, which U.S. House Rep. Randy Weber last night described as the behavior of a “socialist dictator”. “

President Obama’s Use Of Executive Action To Get Around Congressional Gridlock Is Unparalleled In Modern Times, Some Scholars Say. But To Liberal Activists, He’s Not Going Far Enough.

” “We’ve got this Constitution, we’ve got this whole thing about separation of powers,” Obama continued. “So there is no shortcut to politics, and there’s no shortcut to democracy.”

The reality isn’t so simple. Obama, a former constitutional law professor, was once skeptical of the aggressive use of presidential power. During the 2008 campaign, he accused President George W. Bush of regularly circumventing Congress. Yet as president, Obama has grown increasingly bold in his own use of executive action, at times to controversial effect.

The president (or his administration) has unilaterally changed elements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA); declared an anti-gay-rights law unconstitutional; lifted the threat of deportation for an entire class of undocumented immigrants; bypassed Senate confirmation of controversial nominees; waived compliance requirements in education law; and altered the work requirements under welfare reform. This month, the Obama administration took the highly unusual step of announcing that it will recognize gay marriages performed in Utah – even though Utah itself says it will not recognize them while the issue is pending in court.

Early in his presidency, Obama also expanded presidential warmaking powers, surveillance of the American public, and extrajudicial drone strikes on alleged terrorists outside the United States, including Americans – going beyond Mr. Bush’s own global war on terror following 9/11. But more recently, he has flexed his executive muscle more on domestic policy.”

Liberal Icon Urges Obama Impeachment

Worse than Richard Nixon. An unprecedented abuse of powers. The most un-American president in the nation’s history.

Nat Hentoff does not think much of President Obama.

And now, the famous journalist says it is time to begin looking into impeachment.

Hentoff sees the biggest problem as Obama’s penchant to rule by executive order when he can’t convince Congress to do things his way.

The issue jumped back into the headlines last week when, just before his first Cabinet meeting of 2014, Obama said, “I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone … and I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions.”

“ Apparently he doesn’t give one damn about the separation of powers,” Hentoff told WND. “Never before in our history has a president done these things.” “

White House Announces New Executive Actions On Background Checks For Guns

” The White House announced two new executive actions Friday that would expand the government’s access to mental health information during background checks on gun buyers.

The two new actions clarify what constitutes a mental health problem that might prohibit gun ownership and allow states more wiggle room in disclosing such personal medical information.

One executive action frees states from some of the privacy laws that prohibit the disclosure of patients’ medical information, allowing institutions to input mental health information relevant to gun ownership into the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, otherwise known as NICS.”

When you see stories like this:

Obama uses executive power to move gun control agenda forward

The president has used his executive powers to bolster the national background check system, jumpstart government research on the causes of gun violence and create a million-dollar ad campaign aimed at safe gun ownership.

DO NOT be sucked in by the claim that Obama is just trying to keep you safe.  THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS STORY IS ABOUT!  This story is about the further usurpation of Congress’s power/authority.  There is nothing – NOTHING in the U.S. Constitution that allows the President to make law or spend money.  That is the sole power of Congress.  Yet, per this story, Obama is making law by decree and directing the expenditures of public funds – and all of it without going through Congress.

This is nothing less than a power grab.  When Bush did it, the…

Thousands Attend Day Of Resistance Rallies In Support Of Second Amendment [photos]

” Thousands across the nation gathered today to mark Day of Resistance, an event sparked by President Obama’s signing in December of 23 executive actions on “gun violence reduction.” The president and his staff hand-picked four children to join him on stage to plead their case, but as more and more legislators at the state and national levels push for extensive restrictions on gun ownership, plenty of Americans would like to have their say as well, even if they have to brave the elements to do it.”

OBAMA’S GUN EXECUTIVE ORDERS TRANSLATED FOR US PEASANTS SO WE CAN UNDERSTAND

” I translated the Obama Executive Orders into “peasant language”. The  Obama version is listed, with the truth following:
1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.
Insure that every agency has every bit of information on everyone in the nation so nothing slips through our fingers, er through the cracks. “Sieg Heil!!!”.

2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act that may prevent states from making information available to thebackground check system.
If we have inadvertently left in a provision that allows the states any hope of nullifying any action we will ensure the courts side with us until we get it repaired.  Bribe or threaten any who do not willingly comply.   “Sieg Heil!!!”.

3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.
Try bribery first and that doesn’t work we can go to threats. These “motivational aids” will encourage cooperation from governors and legislators of both political parties.  Ve have vays of making you talk, Sieg Heil!!!”

4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.
Categories MUST include, from most important to least important; Military veterans with priority on Special Ops training and combat experience; people of Christian and Jewish faiths; people who own guns; people who know how to shoot someone else’s guns; people who have read and understand The Constitution of the United States of America; people who expect elected officials to uphold their oath of office; people who discuss liberty, personal responsibility, and self-determination; conservative people who have the temerity to criticize any politician that violates his/her oath of office.

Categories that MUST NOT appear on the prohibited list; Muslim terrorists, Mexican drug cartel members; street gang members; union members, politicians, Hollywood types. “Sieg Heil!!!” “

Obama’s Gun-Violence Executive Orders And The Constitution

“As soon as tomorrow, President Obama will announce his administration’s initial steps for dealing with gun violence. It is expected that he will propose measures for congressional action. But recognizing that most legislative proposals will attract powerful resistance, including from some in his own party, the president has indicated that he is prepared to act unilaterally. “My starting point is not to worry about the politics,” the president said. “My starting point is to focus on what makes sense, what works.”

Of course we should all want our president focused on what works. We have more than enough dysfunctional and counter-productive federal policies in place, thanks to both Congress and the president. But there is one consideration that is even more important than whether an executive action will work to reduce gun-related violence: whether the president has the constitutional authority to implement it.

The obvious constraint on executive actions relating to guns is the Second Amendment. It is a constraint that applies equally to Congress and to state and local governments. Though the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2008 decision in District of Columbia v. Heller made clear that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to bear arms, it left unresolved whether particular regulations on gun ownership and gun use are consistent with that right. Both the president and Congress will get an earful on this topic over the coming weeks and months.”

Joe Biden: White House Eying 19 Executive Actions On Guns

” The White House has identified 19 executive actions for President Barack Obama to move unilaterally on gun control, Vice President Joe Biden told a group of House Democrats on Monday, the administration’s first definitive statements about its response to last month’s mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Later this week, Obama will formally announce his proposals to reduce gun violence, which are expected to include renewal of the assault weapons ban, universal background checks and prohibition of high-capacity magazine clips. But Biden, who has been leading Obama’s task force on the response, spent two hours briefing a small group of sympathetic House Democrats on the road ahead in the latest White House outreach to invested groups.

The focus on executive orders is the result of the White House and other Democrats acknowledging the political difficulty of enacting any new gun legislation, a topic Biden did not address in Monday’s meeting.”

‘TSUNAMI’ OF REGULATIONS EXPECTED AFTER OBAMA REELECTION

“President Barack Obama’s administration deliberately held off implementing burdensome regulations that favored environmentalists, labor unions, and dealt with Obamacare in the month leading up to the election because they would be politically unpopular.

Before Obama won reelection, the backlog of regulations suggested to many industry experts that if Obama won reelection, his administration would be “publishing thousands of pages of regulations in the coming months.”

Now that Obama won, some in the business community expect a “tsunami” of regulations that will burst through the dam because about 70 percent of regulations under review have been held for more 90 days, which is 30 days more than the customary 60-day limit. And these are regulations that have made it out of the various agencies. There are many more still on hold.

Many of those regulations involve the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

According to the National Journal:

Industry lobbyists and environmental lawyers estimate that the EPA is currently sitting on about a dozen new major regulations, completed, and ready to roll out the door, but on hold until after the election. Nearly all of them will have a significant impact on the coal and oil industry. “
