$37,680,000,000: That’s How Much The U.S. Spent On Foreign Aid In 2012 — Here’s A Chart That Helps Explain It

Just How Much Does the U.S. Spend on Foreign Aid Anyway? This Chart Will Explain

” The United States spends billion of dollars each year on foreign aid .

In fact, the U.S. sent approximately $37,680,000,000 overseas in 2012 for foreign aid, according to Finance Degree Center, a website dedicated to finance education.”

“CLIMATE CHANGE” LOOTERS WALK OUT OF WARSAW TALKS AFTER SHAKEDOWN ATTEMPT FAILS

” A little good news to start your day, in a follow-up to Monday’s report about the dour atmosphere at the Warsaw climate-change conference: it looks like the whole shebang has collapsed, as disappointed looters marched out of the conference with empty hands, having failed to sucker “rich” nations into another junk-science redistribution scheme.  From the UK Guardian:

Representatives of most of the world’s poor countries have walked out of increasingly fractious climate negotiations after the EU, Australia, the US and other developed countries insisted that the question of who should pay compensation for extreme climate events be discussed only after 2015.”

Mr Hayward gives the beggars what for as they flee , hats in hands , back under the rocks whence they came .

” In case the looters haven’t noticed, those “rich” nations are all mired in economic slowdowns and huge debt crises, both partly due to paying decades of tithe to the Church of Global Warming.  Margaret Thatcher’s prophesied day of reckoning, when the socialists run out of other people’s money to spend, has arrived.  They certainly don’t have money to burn on the global warming fantasy any more.

Also, the most effective way to guarantee that “poor” nations remain poor is to let their elites grab bales of other people’s money in redistribution schemes and stuff the loot into government slush funds, or numbered Swiss accounts.”

You gotta hand it to the Aussies , they certainly know how to avail an assemblage of the pomp and dignity that it so richly deserves .

” You’ve got to love the insouciant attitude of Australia toward the latest junk-science con job, in which the older developed nations would pay a stiff fine for daring to bring the benefits of the Industrial Revolution to mankind:

Australia was accused of not taking the negotiations seriously. “They wore T-shirts and gorged on snacks throughout the negotiation. That gives some indication of the manner they are behaving in,” said a spokeswoman for Climate Action Network.”

60 Completely Outrageous Ways The U.S. Government Is Wasting Money

” Is there anyone better at wasting money then the U.S. government?  Despite the sequester and all of the talk about “deep cutbacks”, the federal government continues to waste money in some of the most outrageous ways imaginable.  For example, does the U.S. government really have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to study the size and shape of the reproductive organs of ducks?  Does the U.S. government really have to spend 1.5 million dollars to study why so many lesbians are overweight?  There is so much waste that could still be cut out of the federal budget, and yet the very small sequester cuts that just happened are being described as “catastrophic” by many of our politicians.

The following are some of the completely outrageous ways that the U.S. government is wasting money…

#1 The National Science Foundation has given $384,949 to Yale University to do a study on “Sexual Conflict, Social Behavior and the Evolution of Waterfowl Genitalia”.  Try not to laugh, but much of this research involves examining and measuring the reproductive organs of male ducks.

#2 The IRS spent $60,000 on a film parody of “Star Trek” and a film parody of “Gilligan’s Island”.  Internal Revenue Service employees were the actors in the two parodies, so as you can imagine the acting was really bad.

#3 The National Institutes of Health has given $1.5 million to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts to study why “three-quarters” of lesbians in the United States are overweight and why most gay males are not.

#4 The National Institutes of Health has also spent $2.7 million to study why lesbians have more “vulnerability to hazardous drinking”.

#5 The U.S. government is giving sixteen F-16s and 200 Abrams tanks to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt even though the new president of Egypt, Mohammed Morsi (a member of the Muslim Brotherhood), constantly makes statements such as the following

“Dear brothers, we must not forget to nurse our children and grandchildren on hatred towards those Zionists and Jews, and all those who support them”

#6 During 2012, the salaries of Barack Obama’s three climate change advisers combined came to a grand total of more than $370,000. “

The US State Department announced on Friday that nearly $500 million in aid had been unblocked for transfer to the Palestinian Authority, months after Congress froze the funds in late-2012.

“To date, we have moved $295.7 million in fiscal year 2012 money… and $200 million in fiscal year 2013 assistance,” State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told reporters.

The announcement came on the heels of US President Barack Obama’s first trip to Israel and the West Bank since assuming office in 2009.

The Palestinian Authority has been in the grips of a deep economic crisis, largely due to promised aid going undelivered. Additionally, Israel has stopped delivering Palestinian tax revenues to the PA — with the exception of a one-time payment of $100 million in January — following Palestine’s approved petition for non-member observer state status at the UN last November. “

Congress Blocked Kerry From Offering More Aid To Egypt

” Secretary of State John Kerry had hoped to offer considerably more aid to Egypt than the $250 million he announced during his trip to Cairo but was blocked by Congress, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-Calif.) said.

“This is not the aid package that the administration wanted to announce,” Royce told The Hill. The administration wanted to release a “larger sum,” but bowed to the wishes of Royce’s committee as well as congressional appropriators, he said.

Royce wouldn’t say how much Kerry had hoped to announce, but the State Department has been pressing Congress to greenlight $450 million in direct aid since last fall.

“Our approach is not the full-throttle administration approach of delivering all the aid that they wanted to deliver, but rather a measured approach of tying tranches to results as it pertains to the peace treaty with Israel, to cooperation with respect to smuggling [into Gaza] and with respect to economic reforms to guarantee civil rights and the rule of law within Egypt,” he said. “That’s the pressure that we’re applying.” “

America Sinks as We Bail Out Egypt

image

” John Kerry just spit in the eye of the American people.  For the past month we have been bombarded with Obama and his administration predicting Armageddon due to the sequester.

The American people were supposed to be looking at cutbacks and layoffs, long lines at the airports, no more food inspections, and children starving in the streets!  Not to mention we haven’t enough money to send the aircraft carrier U.S. Truman to the Persian Gulf.Well that was last week.  I guess we found some spare change in an old suit because John Kerry just gave $250 million to Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood this weekend!  Wow!  Think of the kids that could have fed

Just after the delivery of our $213 million dollar gift of F-16’sto the Muslim Brotherhood, guess who was invited over for tea?  None other than Ahmadinejad who received the full red carpet treatment from Morsi.  What was he doing?  Picking out which jets he wanted sent to Iran?  Perhaps they were comparing notes on their hatred of Israel calling the Israeli people “descendants of apes and pigs” and saying that Egyptian children should be “nursed” on “hatred for Israel”. “

Kerry: US to Release Millions in Aid to Egypt

” U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says Washington will provide Egypt with immediate financial aid because of the nation’s “extreme needs.” Kerry announced the deal after meeting Sunday with Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi. Cairo is the first stop in the Arab world for Kerry as he makes his inaugural trip as the top American diplomat.

Secretary of State Kerry says the United States will make $190 million available immediately from a promised $450-million package for budget support. He also pledged $60 million toward a new enterprise fund.”

CALLING THE LIAR ‘N THIEF’S BLUFF: RAND PAUL RIDES TO THE FIGHT!
” Introduces a New Sequester Bill– Read it here. He will prove that Oblamer is all “show” and no “go”…The list is simple, uncomplicated and easy to absorb, even for the liberals and Marxists.
From the article, linked below:
Not only is Senator Rand Paul (R., Ky.) calling out the Obama administration’s “dishonest” doom-mongering on the sequester, he also put forward his own plan, released today, to replace the impending cuts with alternative savings, and to do so “without layoffs,” according to a release from the senator’s office.
Paul’s bill would reduce federal spending by more than $85 billion annually by directing the government to:
Stop Hiring New Federal Employees ($6.5 billion per year)More than 60,000 people left the federal workforce in 2011. This provision would end the practice of hiring new employees to replace them.
Bring Federal-Employee Pay in Line with Private Jobs ($32 billion per year)The Congressional Budget Office estimates that federal-employee compensation is 16 percent higher compared with the private sector. This provision would reduce federal salaries to a more commensurate level.
Reduce Federal-Employee Travel by 25 Percent ($2.25 billion per year)The federal government spends about $9 billion on travel, according to the General Services Administration, which ironically was the center of a recent scandal for its exorbitant spending on travel and conference costs. Paul bill’s would rein in such expenses.
Focus Military Research on Military Needs ($6 billion per year)Paul’s office cites research from Senator Tom Coburn (R., Okla.), which found that the Defense Department spent $6 billion on research that had little or nothing to do with military needs.
Require Competitive Bidding for Government Contracts ($19 billion per year)This provision would repeal prevailing-wage requirements under which employees are often paid higher wages to work on federal projects, and end the practice of awarding federal contracts without a competitive bidding process to ensure the government is contracting work at the lowest price possible.
Cut 50 Percent of Foreign Aid ($20 billion per year)It is consistently one of the only portions of the budget Americans actually want to cut.”

That Worked Out Well: 92% Of Pakistanis Now Dislike America

” After four years of Barack Obama’s diplomatic ‘leadership’ and billions of dollars in attempted friendship aid, a new public opinion poll reveals that 92% of Pakistanis now disapprove of the United States.

The results could have been worse. Not much. But a little. Fully four Pakistanis out of 100 do approve of the United States, President Obama and his policies. They, however, seem to keep kind of quiet about their views in that rowdy land. That’s the lowest favorable rating Pakistan’s citizens have ever given their ostensible North American ally.

The new Gallup Poll, out this morning, reports that the recent high point of Pakistani approval of the United States came in the spring of 2011 when 27% approved. But then public opinion went south on North America.”

Foreign Aid: Money Down A Rat Hole?

CPI Index

” A few months ago I stumbled upon a nonprofit organization that publishes an annual corruption index. It’s called the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) and it measures the “perceived levels of public sector corruption in 176 countries/territories.” The CPI is published by Transparency International and their web address is: http://www.transparency.org. It should be noted that a score of 100 is perfect (i.e.; least corrupt) and a score of ‘one’ would indicate a high level of corruption.

At the bottom of the index (top of the table) are the two most corrupt regimes. They are Somalia which received $168 million and Afghanistan which received $2.3 billion. Together, these two nations received approximately $2.47 billion! The total given to all of the countries listed in the table approaches $9.0 billion. The U.S. issues approximately $50 billion a year in foreign aid with nearly 20% allocated to the countries in the table. In case you’re curious, the U.S. ranks 19th on the corruption index with a score of 73. The least corrupt nations according to the CPI are Denmark, Finland and New Zealand, each with a score of 90.”

‘Brutal’ Rand Paul Ads: Dems Voted Aid For ‘Death-to-America’ Radicals

” A new TV-ad campaign in the swing states of Florida, West Virginia, Ohio and Missouri is blasting Democratic Party incumbents for sending billions of dollars to nations that many Americans would place unequivocally in the “enemies” column.

The ads created by RAND PAC, the political action arm of Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., already are running, with purchases targeting Sens. Joe Manchin in West Virgina, Bill Nelson in Florida and Sherrod Brown in Ohio.”

Foreign Aid:

‘It’s Not actually Going To the People’

” Speaking at a conference at Bethel College, Acton’s Director of Media, Michael Miller, told the audience that while good intentions are necessary in the fight against poverty, they simply aren’t enough. Miller spoke directly on the topic of foreign aid to developing nations:

Western countries providing financial aid to developing nations seems to make sense, but there is no correlation between the extent of aid and economic progress in those countries, Miller said.

Much of the aid goes to foreign governments and helps subsidize corruption, Miller said. “It’s not actually going to the people,” he said, referring to that system as “crony capitalism.”  “

U.S. Move to Give Egypt $450 Million in Aid Meets Resistance

“The Obama administration notified Congress on Friday that it would provide Egypt’s new government an emergency cash infusion of $450 million, but the aid immediately encountered resistance from a prominent lawmaker wary of foreign aid and Egypt’s new course under the leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood.”
