Madonna Schools Anti Gun Media On Gun Control In Recent Interview

” Madonna recently appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America to promote her upcoming concert event, Madonna: The MDNA Tour. During the interview Madonna was asked about the use of prop guns during one part of her show (a part of the show which has drawn criticism from anti gun groups). Elizabeth Vargas asked the singer if she planned on changing or removing that part of the show, Madonna said absolutely not.

According to BPR here is the exchange,

“That would be like asking people to not have guns in action movies,” she said. “I mean the thing is, guns don’t kill people, people kill people.”

President Obama: There Is No Debt Crisis

” There has been no shortage of dire warnings about the mounting US national debt, but President Obama is now offering a different assessment: no big deal.

We don’t have an immediate crisis in terms of debt,” President Obama said in an exclusive interview with George Stephanopoulos for “Good Morning America.” “In fact, for the next 10 years, it’s gonna be in a sustainable place.”

It’s an assessment that will throw cold water on the latest attempt to achieve a so-called grand bargain to reduce the deficit. After all, a grand bargain would require excruciatingly difficult decisions for both sides – for Republicans, it would mean raising taxes, and for Democrats, cutting future spending on cherished programs like Social Security and Medicare. If there is no crisis, why would either side do it?

So, what happens if this latest effort to reach a deficit agreement falls through? Once again, the president’s answer was, essentially, no big deal.

“Ultimately, it may be that the differences are just too wide” to get a deal, President Obama said. “That won’t create a crisis. It just means that we will have missed an opportunity.”

ABC Doing Their Part In Gun Control Debate

” In an interview with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts aired this morning, First Lady Michelle Obama recalled the tragic death of 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton who was shot and killed in Chicago after performing during the President’s Inauguration celebration in Washington D.C.

“She was caught in the line of fire because some kids had some automatic weapons they didn’t need,” the First Lady explained. “I just don’t want to keep disappointing our kids in this country. I want them to know that we put them first.”

Chicago police reported, however, that Pendleton was shot by a man who “opened fire with a handgun before fleeing in a waiting car” according to the Associated Press.

For the broadcast, ABC’s Good Morning America producers edited out the First Lady’s “automatic weapon” line.

She was standing out in a park with her friends in a neighborhood blocks away from where my kids grow – grew – up, where our house is. She had just taken a chemistry test. And she was caught in the line of fire because some kids had some automatic weapons they didn’t need. I just don’t want to keep disappointing our kids in this country. I want them to know that we put them first.”
