Morell Testifies On Benghazi Talking Points

” During a Congressional hearing that lasted more than three hours, former C.I.A. Deputy Director Michael Morell praised his former agency’s intelligence analysts as the best on the globe, yet ones who he admits were sorely mistaken when they reported that spontaneous protesters were to blame for the Benghazi, Libya terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2012.

“ As you now know, subsequent information revealed their judgment to be incorrect [but]…that is where the best available information led them at the time, not because of politics,” Morell testified before the House Intelligence Committee today.

When Morell’s own C.I.A. station chief in Tripoli, Libya sent evidence that the Benghazi attacks were not the outgrowth of protests over a YouTube video, he says he and his Washington analysts disregarded it and didn’t pass it along to other agencies

Morell was called to testify after several Republican member of Congress alleged new evidence shows he misled them by withholding what he knew about the genesis of the government’s so-called talking points after the attacks. It turns out that Morell was a key player in editing the talking points and interfacing with the White House.”

The Washington analysts and bureaucrats disregarded the reports from “boots on the ground” and placed the blame on “spontaneous demonstrations” and we are supposed to believe that it had nothing to do with politics ? Try again Morrell , you corrupt bastard .

GM CEO Mary Barra Testifies At Congressional Hearing On Ignition Recall Failure

GM CEO Mary Barra

” The fix for a faulty ignition switch linked to 13 traffic deaths would have cost just 57 cents, members of Congress said Tuesday as they demanded answers from General Motors’ new CEO on why the automaker took 10 years to recall cars with the defect.

At a hearing on Capitol Hill before a House subcommittee, GM’s Mary Barra acknowledged under often testy questioning that the company took too long to act. She promised changes at GM that would prevent such a lapse from happening again.

” If there’s a safety issue, we’re going to make the right change and accept that,” said Barra, who became CEO in January and almost immediately found herself thrust into one of the biggest product safety crises Detroit has ever seen.

But as relatives of the crash victims looked on intently, she admitted that she didn’t know why it took years for the safety defect to be announced. And she deflected many questions about what went wrong, saying an internal investigation is under way.”

While we acknowledge that this fiasco/coverup started well before the government took over control of the company the fact remains that we are only getting to the truth nearly six years after the beginning of State control and that , in our eyes makes the State every bit as complicit in these deaths as GM itself . For shame .

As a matter of fact we’d be willing to bet that if the current administration hadn’t made the State “resurrection” of GM a showpiece of it’s stimulus success , that if the government had not been directly involved in the success/failure of the company that the authorities would have served in the role as watchdog and brought these deaths to a halt years ago .

The State had no skin in the game with Toyota and had no hesitation in putting the screws to that company  .
