Here Are 28 Famous People When They Were Young

Elvis

” All famous people throughout history were kids at some point, no matter how strange of a thought that is. (Even JFK probably got his fair share of bad haircuts growing up.) We wanted to show you what some of the most famous (and infamous) people were like back in the day. You may recognize some of these people… and some of them, you definitely will not.”

Chavez Heir Barely Wins; Opposition Rejects Count

” Hugo Chavez’s hand-picked successor, Nicolas Maduro, won a razor-thin victory in Sunday’s special presidential election but the opposition candidate refused to accept the result and demanded a full recount.

Maduro’s stunningly close victory followed an often ugly, mudslinging campaign in which the winner promised to carry on Chavez’s self-styled socialist revolution, while challenger Henrique Capriles’ main message was that Chavez put this country with the world’s largest oil reserves on the road to ruin.

Despite the ill feelings, both men sent their supporters home and urged them to refrain from violence.

Maduro, acting president since Chavez’s March 5 death, held a double-digit advantage in opinion polls just two weeks ago, but electoral officials said he got just 50.7 percent of the votes to 49.1 percent for Capriles with nearly all ballots counted.

The margin was about 234,935 votes. Turnout was 78 percent, down from just over 80 percent in the October election that Chavez won by a nearly 11-point margin over Capriles.”

Analyst Estimates Chávez’s Family Fortune At Around $2 Billion

” According to Jerry Brewer, president of CJIA, “the personal fortune of the Castro brothers has been estimated at a combined value of around $2 billion.”

“The Chávez Frías family in Venezuela has amassed a fortune of a similar scale since the arrival of Chávez to the presidency in 1999,” said Brewer in an analysis published in their website.

“We believe that organized bolivarian criminal groups within the Chávez administration have subtracted around $100 billion out of the nearly $1 trillion in oil income made by PDVSA since 1999.” ”

Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez Dies From Cancer

” Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has died after a two-year battle with cancer, ending the socialist leader’s 14-year rule of the South American country, Vice President Nicolas Maduro said in a televised speech on Tuesday.

The flamboyant 58-year-old leader had undergone four operations in Cuba for a cancer that was first detected in his pelvic region in mid-2011. His last surgery was on December 11 and he had not been seen in public since.

“It’s a moment of deep pain,” Maduro, accompanied by senior ministers, said, his voice choking.

Chavez easily won a new six-year term at an election in October and his death will devastate millions of supporters who adored his charismatic style, anti-U.S. rhetoric and oil-financed policies that brought subsidized food and free health clinics to long-neglected slums.”

Hugo Chavez ‘Battles For Life’ With Chemotherapy

” President Hugo Chavez has been receiving chemotherapy since recovering from a severe respiratory infection in mid-January and “continues his battle for life”, his vice president said.

Nicolas Maduro disclosed for the first time that Mr Chavez began chemotherapy following his fourth round of cancer surgery in Cuba in December.

“He has strength that is superior to the treatments that he is receiving and he is in good spirits, battling, receiving his treatments,” he said after a Mass for Mr Chavez, who is being treated at a Caracas military hospital.”

Venezuela VP: Chavez Suffers ‘New Complications’

” CARACAS, Venezuela — Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is confronting “new complications” due to a respiratory infection nearly three weeks after undergoing cancer surgery, his vice president said in Cuba as he visited the ailing leader for the first time since his operation.

Vice President Nicolas Maduro looked weary and spoke with a solemn expression in a televised address Sunday from Havana. He did not give details about the complications but described Chavez’s condition as delicate.

“Several minutes ago, we were with President Chavez. We greeted each other, and he himself referred to these complications,” Maduro said, reading from a prepared statement. “

Hugo Chavez Outlaws Gun Ownership, Murder Rate Hits 21,692

” While the US murder total for 2012 isn’t in yet, the Venezuelan murder total has hit 21,692, up from 18,000 last year, despite a ban on private ownership of guns enacted by the Chavez regime this year.

Hugo Chavez’s government says the ultimate aim is to disarm all civilians, but his opponents say the police and government may not have the capacity or the will to enforce the new law.

Or enough bulletproof vests, from the looks of things.

Venezuela’s glorious Socialist murder rate still lags behind Mexico at 25,000 and Brazil at 40,000 or Obama’s Indonesian homeland at 19,000, but with dedication and commitment from all the workers and peasants, Venezuela will not only surpass the Yanquis, but utterly vanquish them in the number of people murdered each year. ”

While we admit , though will never understand , that Obama has a good “likability” rating here at home , what alarms us more is his “likability” abroad . Now we don’t mean amongst the typical citizens of the world . No we refer to his ” likability” as expressed by our adversaries … Hugo Chavez , Vladimir Putin , Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the rest of the world’s despots .

We here at YouViewed are of the opinion that any candidate being endorsed by our enemies is not the choice for us .

Jennifer Rubin on the likability factor

” The Romney image created by the Obama ad bombardment was unlikable, but the actual candidate turned out to be an astonishingly decent person and extremely capable. The clash between the cartoon Romney and the real Romney seems to have jolted the electorate.

As for the media, the intellectual dishonesty should no longer surprise us, but it is disconcerting nevertheless. Romney’s unlikability is not only news but a media obsession. When he solves that issue, mum’s the word. ”

We strayed a bit from Jennifer’s point but what the heck … It’s Monday and we are tired … That doesn’t negate the essential point of our argument . Actually , Jennifer’s focus on the press’s water-carrying for Obama probably explains to a large degree how Obama’s “likability” has remained so high after four solid years of blunder upon blunder .

Hugo Chavez: You better believe I’d vote for Obama

“Not only that, but he’s pretty sure Obama would vote for him if given the chance.”

Despotism 101 : First ban the means of self-defense .

“Huh. A corruption-riddled dictatorial regime wants to deprive its citizens of the means of popular resistance. (Where, oh where in history have we seen this type of thing before?) I happen to believe that a government should always fear its people, but I can maybe understand why communist totalitarians might not be so into that idea.”
