1,700 Private Jets Descend On Davos For World Economic Forum

” Billionaires, world leaders and pop stars are clogging up the skies with their private jets as they descend on the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland to liaise over issues such as terrorism, the central banks and growing economic inequality.

Over the course of this week, approximately 1,700 private jets are expected to fly into the region, resulting airport traffic increasing by 10% which means that landing spots are in short supply.

The Swiss Armed Forces have even opened up one of their military air bases for the first time to try and accommodate the increase in traffic. For private jet companies like PrivateFly, Netkets and VistaJet, this is by far their busiest time of year. “

62 Percent Of Americans Say They Favor A Flat Tax

effectivetaxrates

” The latest Reason-Rupe poll asked Americans if they would support or oppose changing the federal tax system to a flat tax, where everyone pays the same percentage of his or her income, finding that 62 percent favor the flat tax and 33 percent are opposed. When asked where they would set the flat tax, the average response was 15 percent.

This reflects another recent Reason-Rupe poll finding that 67 percent of Americans say it is “not the responsibility of the government to reduce the differences in income between people with high incomes and those with low incomes,” while 29 percent say it is.

Strong support for a flat tax extends across income groups (62 percent) among those making less than $30,000 a year and 73 percent among those making more than $110,000 a year. Similarly across education groups and age groups, 6 in 10 say they support the flat tax.”

Contrary to media memes and their class-warfare compatriots on the Left , the rich do pay a higher percentage of taxes …

” Urban Institute data reports that in fact, the wealthy do pay a higher tax rate than the middle class. Average effective federal tax rates in 2011, as a percentage of adjusted gross income find the following (after tax credits):

Lowest Income Quintile: -5.8%

Second Quintile: 1.3%

Middle Quintile: 9.2%

Fourth Quintile: 12.9%

Top Quintile: 20.6%

The “1 Percent” pay 25.3%” “

Op-Ed: Civilization Could Crash In 15 Years- NASA Study

” Sydney – NASA’s new study says the crunch time for civilization could be very near. Usually, when civilizations fall, it’s a big deal. Whether or not anybody will even notice the fall of this particular civilization is highly debatable.

The Guardian:

A new study sponsored by Nasa’s Goddard Space Flight Center has highlighted the prospect that global industrial civilization could collapse in coming decades due to unsustainable resource exploitation and increasingly unequal wealth distribution.

Noting that warnings of ‘collapse’ are often seen to be fringe or controversial, the study attempts to make sense of compelling historical data showing that “the process of rise-and-collapse is actually a recurrent cycle found throughout history.” Cases of severe civilisational disruption due to “precipitous collapse – often lasting centuries – have been quite common.”

NASA is sounding like an adjunct to the extremists of the Democratic party . While the drumbeat of income inequality is sure to grow louder and louder as the 2014 election nears we wouldn’t expect such a blatant show of partisanship from an allegedly apolitical scientific organization such as NASA , but such is life in Obama’s Amerika .

” You can see where this is going. Distribution of wealth, social inequalities, etc. One word would do- “Mismanagement”. The historical societies didn’t just collapse. They fell to pieces over time. At any point, they could have revived, but they didn’t.

Old economics are still very much part of this perspective. The economic hierarchy is given as the primary symptom of the decline of civilization. Resource depletion is cited as the primary issue for economic management. “

The fact is that we are not in disagreement with the concept of the “s**t hitting the fan” , on the contrary , we see no other possible result under our present leadership of ignorance , foolishness and corruption . No , where we take issue with the NASA prediction is in the root causes … NASA’s main focus deems “income inequality” and “unsustainable resource exploitation” as the culprit in civilization’s impending death , which is just another way of demanding MORE GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION .

” As a matter of fact, inequalities have existed since the caves. There are no recorded instances of any society of economically equal people, either, in those 5000 years. Quite the opposite, the “1%” of the historical past records the elites, not the mass of the society. “

We here at YouViewed on the other hand feel that the demise of our way of life , should it come to be and things are not looking good  , will be a direct result of an overabundance of State action rather than a need for more . Trying to shift the blame to two of the Left’s favorite stalking horses all but guarantees our imminent collapse by throwing more gasoline on the already raging pyre . The solution to our ills lies at the very fingertips of our innovative citizenry if only those fingertips weren’t being crushed under the boot heel of the Leviathan State .

Study: Income Inequality Greater, Growing Faster In Blue States

” President Obama has said that reducing the growing gap between high and low income earners is one of his top domestic priorities. But a new study finds that residents of states that voted for Obama in 2012 “are experiencing more income inequality than people in other states.”

“ Income inequality is worse in blue states, and has also grown more quickly in those areas over the past 10 years,” according to the study, entitled “Blue states have the income-inequality blues,” by Richard Barrington, senior financial analyst at MoneyRates.com.

CNSNews.com previously reported that a Brookings Institute study found that the highest levels of income inequality in the nation were in large cities that overwhelmingly voted for President Obama’s reelection in 2012.”

Can You Guess Which President Has Worst Record On ‘Income Inequality’?

” If Obama thinks he can pivot away from the failures of Obamacare towards the cause of relieving “income inequality,” he’s going to find even greater failures there already on the part of his administration.

As the video above from Fox News shows, the vast majority of gains in wealth have gone to the top earners, making income inequality increase drastically under Obama. In fact, of the last three presidents, the income gap didn’t change overall during the Bush years, increased second most during Clinton’s time, and has increased the most with only 5 years under Obama’s belt.”

Epic Narrative Fail: Laughably Few Voters Believe Income Inequality Is The Government’s Business

INCOME INEQUALITY

” The “post-partisan” president revealed his true left-wing radical colors recently with his completely predictable pivot away from ObamaCare and economic failure (not to mention all those “phony scandals”) to something near and dear to his community organizer heart: income inequality.

But the overwhelming majority of voters aren’t buying itOnly 13% of  a random sample of 1,010 registered voters contacted by Anderson Robbins Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R) at the behest of Fox News believe income inequality is any of the government’s business.”

As the chart from Gallup shows below , the host of “problems” that the politicians and the media swear that the people are demanding solutions to are , in reality quite low down on the totem pole . Can you say “Squirrel” boys and girls ? Note also that the problems that ARE of chief concern to the public , by and large , are government caused in the first place .

Watch O’Reilly Factor Reporter Ask Unwitting Celebs How They Feel About America, Obama And Hillary

 Watters World Sundance Film Fest

” When “The O’Reilly Factor” correspondent Jesse Watters crashed the Sundance Film Festival to ask celebrities about current events rather than movies, he got some pretty entertaining responses. Some of the more humorous ones include:

It’s always very interesting to see celebrities talking about politics. They aren’t any more or less informed than your average American, yet what they say is often perceived as more valuable just because their microphone is louder. If nothing else, it’s truly entertaining to see them caught off guard as some were in this video.”

No surprises here from the “Celebrity Elite” but it is always fun to watch them reveal just how out of touch with the real world they are , especially iwhen it’s demonstrated by their own words . The “me too” chorus is alive and well in Hollywood .

The Party Of The Rich Flogs Income Inequality

” Back when I was a kid, I used to think Republicans were the party of the rich — white guys who belonged to country clubs and drove Fleetwoods.  Of course, that was long before I heard of the likes of George Soros, Bill  Gates, Warren Buffet, Steve Jobs and Larry Ellison — white guys who fly Gulf Streams and have mansions in Gstaad.  (Well, Buffett lives a little more circumspectly.)  Or went to work in Hollywood, land of Jeff Katzenberg, David Geffen, Oprah Winfrey, etc. There’s rich and then there’s REALLY RICH, if you know what I mean.  And a fair number, maybe the majority, of the latter are Democrats and profess to be liberals or progressives or something.  (And there’s Fidel Castro, who is evidently a billionaire, and professes to be a communist.)

These days, when everybody’s insurance agent or accountant drives around in a Mercedes because interest rates are so low and why not, when it comes to true conspicuous consumption, when it comes to really being the true modern plutocrats, the Democrats are now the party of the rich — Sheldon Adelson excepted, of course.

So  when I watched the broadcast of the inauguration of New York City’s new mayor Bill de Blasio with all the talk of income equality and two New Yorks blablabla, all I could do is snort — that is after checking out the cut of the expensive topcoats on De Blasio and Bill Clinton. Good schmeck, I believe they used to call it  in the Garment District.”

Real Hope & Change

As Professor Meade says , this is not the way to achieve economic equality for most of us , but for the Left this is a feature and not a bug .

“Last year the US made great strides towards a more equal society: we cut the number of millionaires by more than 100,000. According to a study from the Boston Consulting Group, 129,000 evil US millionaires rejoined the ranks of the proletariat last year as the value of their stocks, cash and other non-business and non-property assets fell below the magic number.

4.3 percent of US households still qualify as millionaires by that measure, but OWS partisans shouldn’t despair. Perhaps with another few years of stock market declines, slow or negative economic growth and low interest rates we can take another big whack out of that number.”
