Miami Cop Fearing Termination after Altercation With Internal Affairs Lieutenant He Pulled Over

” A Miami police officer pulled a car over for speeding last month, which turned out to be a plainclothes internal affairs lieutenant who shoved the door open on the officer after refusing to provide his drivers license, leading to a struggle on the side of the road that was caught on camera.

As the two were on the ground wresting, another three Miami cops who just happened to be in the area pulled up and piled on the screaming driver– only to pull off when they realized the man at the bottom was an internal affairs lieutenant from their own department.

That was when the officer Marcel Jackson, the cop who initiated the stop, was sent to his patrol car and internal affairs Lieutenant David Ramras assumed control of the situation.

Realizing the outranking officer with more than two decades of seniority over him was going to turn him into the aggressor, Jackson pulled out his cell phone and began taking photos of the officers that began arriving.

But then a cop ordered him to stop. And another cop later ordered him to delete the photos.

However, unknowing to the other officers at the time, Jackson had video recorded the entire incident with his GoPro camera, which he had attached to his dash, but shoved in between seat after realizing they were turning against him, keeping it recording to capture the ensuing conversations. The department does not use dash or body cams, so it’s not something they would expect.”

Union City Police Officer Arrested For Stealing Gun, Selling To Felon

Cop Steals Gun

” A Union City police officer has been arrested for stealing a gun from a fellow police officer and then selling it to a known felon.

Scottie Brothers was arrested Tuesday afternoon by Canadian County Sheriff’s deputies. Undersheriff Chris West says the victim in the case asked the CCSO to investigate after the Union City police chief refused to.

According to West and the Probable Cause affidavit, Brothers stole at least one gun from fellow officer William Ingram while he was house sitting for Ingram in May of 2010. At the time Ingram noticed the gun was missing but thought he just misplaced it. “

Obamacare Contractors: Don’t Blame Us

” The Obamacare website contractors plan to tell Congress on Thursday that they are not to blame for the massive problems at HealthCare.gov and that they completed successful testing before the Oct. 1 launch.

But, according to prepared testimony, the four contractors ran into unforeseen problems once open enrollment began. The testimony offers a slight glimpse into the problems that made the website all but unworkable — and warnings that the problems are far from over.

Lawmakers are expected to press the four contractors for details on what went wrong and when they – and the White House – knew about it.

The federal exchange underwent eight technical reviews before Oct. 1 and passed, CGI Federal senior vice president Cheryl Campbell plans to tell the House Energy and Commerce Committee. CGI is considered the lead contractors on HealthCare.gov, the federal exchange website.”

Athens Police Investigate Alleged Rape Caught On Camera

Ohio %22Rape%22

” An Ohio University student says she was raped, and the alleged assault was photographed and shared on social media.

Investigators say they have spoken to both the man and woman in the photo, and they are trying to determine exactly what happened.

They say one thing is clear: there were witnesses, and investigators want to speak with them.

The 20-year-old woman contacted Athens Police Sunday night and said she had been raped.

She said the assault happened on Saturday morning sometime between 1 and 6 a.m.

Within hours, photos and video of the incident were online and sparking outrage.”

Make no mistake here , we are certainly not apologists for barbaric male behavior as many of our previous posts can attest , yet none can deny that many young men have been railroaded into scandal and/or criminal charges by vindictive lovers .

While the facts remain to be brought to light in this case , one must admit that the possibility exists that the sex that was witnessed on a public street between two adults and photographed could very well have started out as consensual but once it became a spectacle on social media the woman , in a desire to avoid shame , cried rape .

We take only the side of truth here , caution readers not to rush to judgement , let the truth will out . Remember more than one innocent has been sent to jail because of the pride of another .

Biker Cop Joined In SUV Beatdown, Hit Vehicle

” An off-duty undercover cop who had claimed he took no active role as fellow bikers pulled a Manhattan dad from his SUV and beat him to a pulp was actually pounding the vehicle with his fists at the height of the bloody road-rage attack, sources told The Post.

The cop, a seven-year veteran, had told investigators he didn’t help the injured man because he rode up to the scene as the beating was nearly over, sources said.

But video footage clearly shows otherwise, disgusted sources said Monday — and Internal Affairs Bureau higher-ups want to nail the officer.

The unidentified cop has already been placed on modified duty and turned in his gun and badge.”

IRS Employees Used Company Credit Cards To Buy Close To $500,000 In Wine, Internet Porn, Diet Pills And More

Poor oversight by the Internal Revenue Service allowed workers to use agency credit cards to buy wine for an expensive luncheon, dorky swag for managers’ meetings and, for one employee, romance novels and diet pills, an agency watchdog said Tuesday.

Two IRS credit cards were used to buy online pornography, though the employees said the cards were stolen. One of the workers reported five agency credit cards lost or stolen.

IRS employees used agency credit cards to make more than 273,000 purchases totaling nearly $108 million in 2010 and 2011, according to the report by the Treasury inspector general for tax administration.

$3,152 to rent a popcorn machine and to buy prizes for an employee event, including bandanas, stuffed animals, sunglasses and stovepipe hats.

— $418 for novelty decorations and swag at managers’ meetings, including kazoos, bathtub toys and “Thomas the Tank Engine” wristbands.

— $119 for Nerf footballs that were never used and were found stored in a filing cabinet.

Inadequate procedures to identify, report and address inappropriate use leaves the IRS purchase card program vulnerable to repeated violations of applicable laws and regulations,” said J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration.”

FBI Hasn’t Contacted A Single Tea Party Group In IRS Probe, Groups Say

” There is no evidence that the FBI has contacted a single tea party group in its criminal investigation of the Internal Revenue Service, according to the groups the IRS abused.

“We have not been contacted by any federal investigative agency and, to date, none of our clients have been contacted or interviewed by the FBI,” Jay Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice told The Daily Caller on Thursday. The ACLJ has filed suit against the IRS on behalf of 25 conservative groups, with additional groups being added in the next couple weeks, according to a spokesman.

“I have been very surprised that I have not heard from anybody and frankly, none of my clients have. I talk to other tea party leaders on a regular basis,” said Cleta Mitchell, the lawyer largely credited with pushing the IRS abuses to the forefront.”

Two ‘Rogue’ Workers Principally Behind IRS Targeting Of Conservatives

” The Internal Revenue Service has identified two “rogue” employees in the agency’s Cincinnati office as being principally responsible for “overly aggressive” handling of requests by conservative groups for tax-exempt status, a congressional source told CNN.

In a meeting on Capitol Hill, acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller described the employees as being “off the reservation,” according to the source. It was not clear precisely what the alleged behavior involved.

Miller said the staffers have already been disciplined, according to another source familiar with Miller’s discussions with congressional investigators. The second source said Miller emphasized that the problem with IRS handling of tax-exempt status for tea party groups was not limited to these two employees.

The comments came as all 45 Senate Republicans sent the White House a letter that called for the administration to “comply with all requests related to congressional inquiries without any delay” involving the controversy.

The letter called the scandal “yet another completely inexcusable attempt to chill the speech of political opponents and those who would question their government, consistent with a broader pattern of intimidation by arms of your administration to silence political dissent.” “

Seven Foreign Chem Engineers Caught Trespassing At Boston’s Water Reservoir

” Just after Midnight Tuesday night, seven people – five men and two women – were caught trespassing at the Quabbin Reservoir.  The Quabbin is one of America’s largest man made water supplies, and delivers most of Boston’s drinking water.

So, no big deal, right?  It’s probably just some kids who decided to sneak in and have a few beers at the water’s edge.

The problem is all seven were from either Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, or Singapore.  All of them live in either Boston or New York, and all of them are recent college graduates with chemical engineering degrees.  They told police they wanted to see the reservoir due to “their education and career interests.”

Which, of course, means you sneak in after midnight.

So we have seven chemical engineers, all from countries with long histories of producing terrorist activity, caught at midnight lurking around one of our nation’s largest water supplies, which the FBI has long warned are prime terrorist targets.”

Democrats Now Critical Of Rice’s Benghazi Explanation, Amid More Damaging Evidence

Benghazi_Dems_Distance

” Congressional Democrats on Sunday distanced themselves from the Obama administration’s explanation of the Benghazi, Libya, attacks in the immediate aftermath of the fatal strikes, amid mounting evidence that suggests the information was revised to intentionally mislead Americans.

The original explanation of the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks on the U.S. outpost in Benghazi, Libya, was written by CIA officials, then revised by State Department and White House officials, according to news reports and witness testimony made available to Fox News.

Removed from the CIA’s so-called talking points were references to “Islamic extremists” and Al Qaeda in Libya And five days later, Susan Rice, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, made the Sunday talk show rounds to say the attacks were, in fact, “demonstrations” sparked by protests in Egypt over an anti-Islamic video on YouTube.

“Well, it was scrubbed,” Massachusetts Democratic Rep. Steve Lynch told “Fox News Sunday.” “It was totally inaccurate. There’s no excuse for that. It was false information.  And what they try to do is harmonize what happened in Benghazi with what happened everywhere else across the Middle East.”

Boston Bombings 2 Weeks Later – What We Do and Still Don’t Know

” Previously, we brought you reports on the Boston Marathon bombings investigation and details into the lives of the suspects, first in The Lives of the Boston Bombers: What We Do and Don’t Know and then in a follow-up,New Developments in the Boston Marathon Bombings Case.

As the investigation continues two weeks after the bombings, several US officials have been questioning the parents of the suspects overseas.  The FBI is also investigating, both in the US and overseas, to determine whether or not the suspects received any training that may have aided in the attack.  Authorities have said that, so far, there has been no evidence to indicate that the bombings were linked to any major groups.  But they continue to probe for any evidence that might indicate otherwise.”

Napolitano — More Gaffes In Boston Bomber Case

” One has to wonder which planet Janet Napolitano lives on. The Homeland Security Secretary told a Senate Committee yesterday that the proposed immigration legislation would have better tracked Boston bomber suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Really?
The issue that has become a concern for lawmakers is the fact that the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) informed the FBI that Tamerlan Tsarnaev was a follower of radical Islam and a strong believer. The domestic intelligence security agency said that Tamerlan was preparing to leave the US and travel to Russia to join unspecified underground groups. The FBI investigated and found no known links. Tsarnaev did indeed return to Russia, but slipped below the radar of the FBI.

Napolitano initially told the Senate Judiciary Committee that Tamerlan Tsarnaev escaped the notice of federal authorities on a six-month trip to Russia last year because his name was misspelled on his airline ticket. Does that mean it was misspelled on his passport as well?”

Bomb-Blast Forensics: The First Steps

” Even as the police and doctors treat the wounded, the forensic investigation into the explosions at the Boston Marathon will begin.

“The forensics start as soon as people realize there’s been an explosion,” says Tom Thurman, of Eastern Kentucky University.

Thurman knows a lot about bomb investigations. Before his retirement from the FBI in 1998, Thurman was the chief of the FBI Bomb Data Center; he also worked

Pan American Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland; the bombing deaths of a federal judge in Alabama and an attorney in Georgia, both in 1989; and the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center in New York.

The first thing to do is to determine if the explosions were intentional. “What’s there that could spark an accidental explosion?” Thurman asks. If no likely sources for an accidental detonation are found—like a buildup of flammable vapors—the investigators start looking at other evidence. “

Durbin, Obama Linked To Defunct Chicago Nonprofit Under Investigation

” Durbin’s relationship with Chicago’s embattled Save-A-Life Foundation began in the mid-1990s and continued for at least several years, with Durbin even being listed as a member of the foundation’s “Advisory Council,” according to the documents.

President Barack Obama also had a relationship with Save-A-Life during his tenure as an Illinois state senator and U.S. senator, meeting with the organization’s founder and earning praise from the Foundation as a legislator who was “always supportive” of its publicly-funded efforts.

The controversial non-profit is reportedly under investigation for misappropriating potential millions of dollars in taxpayer money by the Illinois Attorney General’s Charitable Trusts Bureau.

The Save-A-Life Foundation, which received nearly $9 million in federal and Illinois state funding to teach schoolchildren CPR and the Heimlich maneuver, dissolved in 2009 but is still under investigation amid claims that it misrepresented the number of children it provided services to and of “money unaccounted for.”

“We can’t really find anywhere that there were a lot of kids that were trained. There may have been some kids, but not the claims that were made in the thousands or tens of thousands. It doesn’t seem to exist,” Illinois state Sen. Tim Bivins said last month.”

A Drone Flew Within 200 Feet Of A Commercial Jet. How Legal Was It? [Updated]

” Yesterday morning, an Alitalia pilot reported seeing a remote-controlled aircraft near New York’s JFK airport, where he was landing. The drone was flying about 4 to 5 miles west of the airport at an altitude of about 1,750 feet, and it came within just 200 feet of the Alitalia plane, the pilot said. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident, and the FBI announced that it is looking for information leading to the drone operator. But was it legal?

Domestic drones are not regulated.
Law is slow to catch up to new technology, so drones are not currently regulated in U.S. air space. The FAA is in the process of picking drone-testing sites, which will be used to help develop domestic drone rules. Until then, unmanned aircraft are governed by model airplane rules, and model airplane rules are pretty lax.

Older laws for model aircraft forbade flying anything above 400 feet. This is still a recognized guideline by the Academy of Model Aeronautics, the lobbyist group that represents model aircraft hobbyists, but the height ceiling hasn’t been on the books since at least 2012. Instead, unmanned, remotely piloted aircraft have to be visible to the naked eye, which might mean just a couple hundred feet in cloudy weather or much further than the recommended 400 feet in good weather. (Visual range notwithstanding, 1,750 feet of altitude is well beyond the reach of most commercially available model aircraft.)

While the 2012 act re-authorizing the FAA removed the height ceiling for model aircraft, it was very clear about boundaries around an airport. Flying a drone within 5 miles of an airport requires notifying that airport; otherwise, you risk prosecution. Initial reports place the drone at 4 to 5 miles away from the airport, which means it isn’t clear whether this drone broke that rule or not. If the drone flew closer than that, and did so without notifying air traffic control, it would’ve been illegal.

The construction of the drone, however, is very likely to have been totally legal. Described as a 3-foot-wide black quadrotor it probably falls under existing construction guidelines. Model aircraft regulations let you fly anything under 55 pounds, and following AMA guidelines, everything, from absolute altitude to size to any sensors a drone might have on board, is legal.

Finally, there’s H. R. 658, SEC. 336, (a)4. This part of the 2012 FAA reauthorization states explicitly flying a model aircraft is legal only if “the aircraft is operated in a manner that does not interfere with and gives way to any manned aircraft.” Flying within 200 feet of an airliner definitely, absolutely, in no uncertain terms violates that law, so let’s just say this is very illegal.

FAA investigates report of drone spotted near NYC

” The pilot can be heard reporting the aircraft on radio calls captured by LiveATC.net, a website that posts air traffic communications. The pilot said, “We saw a drone, a drone aircraft.”The FAA says the pilot did not take evasive action and the plane landed safely.”

A Drone? A Really Big Bird? A UFO? What Did Alitalia Pilot See Near JFK?

” The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a report from the pilot who claimed he saw an unmanned or remote-controlled aircraft while on his final approach to John F. Kennedy International Airport .

The pilot, who was at the controls of Alitalia Flight AZA 60, a Boeing 777, spotted what may have been a drone about four to five miles southeast of the airport at an altitude of 1,500 feet while on final approach to Runway 31 Right at about 1:15 p.m.”

Harvard, Yale Deny Connection To Controversial Democratic Donor Under Scrutiny

Dr. Salomon Melgen and Francisco Sanchez

“A controversial donor with ties to prominent Democrats who is under investigation by the FBI may not have the qualifications he claims.

The resume of Dr. Salomon Melgen, a Florida-based ophthalmologist and controversial Democratic donor, boasts medical education and experience at Harvard University, Yale University, and the University of Missouri.

But none of those schools says it can find any record of Melgen, who claims to be a Harvard alumnus, the former chief resident of the University of Missouri’s ophthalmology department, and a former Yale intern.

Melgen is at the center of a Senate panel probing potential ethics violations by Sen. Robert Menendez (D., N.J.), who may have used his official position to benefit Melgen, a major campaign contributor.

Menendez is also under scrutiny for failing to disclose his use of Melgen’s private jet to take trips to the Dominican Republic in 2010. Menendez denied wrongdoing but in January of this year wrote Melgen a personal check for $58,500 to cover the cost of the flights.

Additionally, the federal agents raided Melgen’s office as part of a Medicare fraud investigation last week.”

Under-aged prostitutes , medicare fraud and let’s not forget alleged influence peddling by Senator Menendez on Melgen’s behalf and how could we forget the illegal alien/registered sex offender intern that Menendez employed .

Debacle in Benghazi

” If there is any urgency to the U.S. government’s efforts to “bring to justice” the terrorists, it’s well hidden. It took the FBI team assigned to investigate Benghazi nearly a month to arrive there. Later, after they had supposedly scoured the U.S. consulate, on two separate occasions reporters found highly sensitive documents on the floor—some including the names of Libyans working with the U.S. government. Robert Mueller, the head of the FBI, visited Libya as part of the investigation for the first time last week.

But nothing demonstrates the lack of urgency so much as the case of Ali Ani al Harzi, a jihadist who was detained in Tunisia for his suspected involvement in the attacks until his surprising release on January 8.

U.S. officials first became suspicious of Harzi after learning that he had “posted an update on social media about the fighting [in Benghazi] shortly after it had begun,” according to Eli Lake of the Daily Beast. That post was “one of the first clues the intelligence community had about the perpetrators” of the September 11 assault on the U.S. consulate.

Harzi did not stay in Libya after the attacks, but instead made his way to Turkey. It was there in early October, at the request of the U.S. government, that Harzi and a fellow Tunisian were arrested. Harzi was reportedly en route to join the jihad against Bashar al-Assad’s crumbling regime in nearby Syria. “

Top U.S. Commander In Afghanistan Investigated

” The top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, General John Allen, is under investigation for alleged inappropriate communication with a woman at the center of the sex scandal involving former CIA Director David Petraeus, a senior U.S. defense official said on Tuesday.

The U.S. official said the FBI uncovered between 20,000 and 30,000 pages of communications – mostly emails and spanning from 2010 to 2012 – between Allen and Jill Kelley, who has been identified as a long-time friend of the Petraeus family and a Tampa, Florida, volunteer social liaison with military families at MacDill Air Force Base.

It was Kelley’s complaints about harassing emails from the woman with whom Petraeus had had an affair, Paula Broadwell, that prompted an FBI investigation, ultimately alerting authorities to Petraeus’ involvement with Broadwell. Petraeus resigned from his job on Friday. “
