Al Qaeda Commander Abou Zeid Killed In Mali: Algeria’s Ennahar TV

” Abou Zeid was among 40 militants killed three days ago in the foothills of the Adrar des Ifoghas mountains near the Algerian border, said Ennahar, which is well connected with Algeria’s security services.

French and Chadian troops have been hunting fighters there after a lightning campaign to dislodge them from northern Mali.

A spokesman for France’s Elysee presidential palace declined to comment. Algeria’s government, Malian and Chadian officials could not confirm Abou Zeid’s killing.

A U.S. official said the reports that Abou Zeid had been killed appeared to be credible and that Washington would view his death as a serious blow to al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM).”

French Interior Minister To Expel Radical Imams ‘In Coming Days’

” French Interior Minister Manuel Valls announced yesterday that, as part of the French government’s fight against radical Islam and “global jihadism,” several radical Moslem clerics were likely to be deported from France over the coming days.

As French forces, with the support of western allies, including the UK and Canada, as well as a number of African countries, made progress in liberating the cities of Gao and Timbuktu in northern Mali this week, France’s Interior Minister Manuel Valls announced a step up in the campaign against radical extremism of France’s home front, reports Les Echos. Valls said he expected France to expel a number of radical Islamist clerics over the course of the coming days. As yet, there is no information as to the identity and numbers of imams likely to be deported from France.”

Hillary Clinton Was Not A Great Secretary Of State

The Architects Of Our "Smart Diplomacy"

” If there was one constant through Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s appearances before congressional committees Wednesday, it was that lawmakers fell all over themselves heaping praise on her for the job she has done. Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., was typical, saying: “Madame Secretary, you have represented us with tremendous strength and poise. You have won us friends.”

Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., gushed, “We don’t have time to give a full listing of the achievements you deserve credit for.” And Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., began his remarks by saying that he shares the “tremendous respect” of his colleagues for the job she has done.

What on Earth are they referring to? American foreign policy under Secretary Clinton has been one disaster after another. She may not deserve blame for all of them — or even most of them — but it defies common sense to call her tenure a success.

Let us review the record. ”

Algerian Attack Was Carried Out Using Weapons and Gear Provided to Libyan Rebels

” Obama’s illegal regime change operation, carried out without Congressional approval, is continuing to reap its bloody benefits.

Many of the Islamist terrorists shot their way into the In Amenas compound on Thursday using the AK104 model of Kalashnikov, which was typically used by Libyan rebels in the war against Muammar Gaddafi. ”

” Now Mali, a West African country that straddles the Sahara and the transitionary Sahel region, is shaping up to be the next Afghanistan. Earlier this year, shortly after a military coup toppled the feckless civilian government in Bamako, an Al Qaeda-affiliated organization called Ansar al-Dine seized power in Timbuktu and lopped off the northern part of the country.

The European Union is sending hundreds of military officers to train anti-Islamist militias while the United States is considering the use of Predator drones and Hellfire missiles.”
