Controversy Over Facebook Photo Of Baby Holding Rifle

Baby Rifle

” A report it photo from a viewer is sending shock waves across social media and the state Tuesday. The photo was snapped at a local gun store and it shows a [sic]Bolt Action Rifle, resting on a baby’s lap.

That picture of the sixth-month-old baby girl with the rifle in front of her was taken by her father at Woodbridge Firearms Trading Post. He and the store owner say it’s just a picture, others say it’s just wrong.

The baby girl is becoming very popular on social media. The picture of the baby with a rifle resting on her lap was sent in to News 8 through our Report It feature and many are reacting.

“ She can’t even speak yet and she has a gun in her hand and it’s bizarre,” said Alexa Grose, Seymour.

Baby Genevieve without the gun, with her bottle and her dad, Christopher Duffy, met News 8′s Erin Logan at Woodbridge Firearms where Duffy bought the gun.”

The original hysterical story comes from WTNH while the Blaze offers a much more even-handed take on this manufactured “controversy” including some fabulous comments(see below) aimed at the busybodies whose lives must be perfect given they have so much time to worry about other people’s business .     If the hand-wringers and do-gooders of the left really need something to raise their blood pressure they should have a look at these pics … These will raise the stroke rates among the mom jean set …

Oh my heavens … kids with guns !

Psst … don’t tell anyone but these young lady shooters went to school in DC … imagine that , guns in Washington DC children’s hands … Horrors … and under the auspices of the DC school system no less … Elizabeth I’m coming to join you !

Oh no … more school girls with guns … Have you called the EMT’s

Here we have the ultimate horror … children being taught to shoot those “evil assault” rifles … are you lefties still conscious ?

Kids Black Rifle

Here’s one more just in case cardiac arrest still eludes the nannies among us …

Believe it or not you busybody milksops there are millions of us parents who have been teaching our children gun safety and shooting for as long as the kids have been old enough to absorb the lessons , just as we were taught by our parents .

And you know what ? Our households aren’t the ones that suffer from accidental shootings or juvenile delinquency . Our children grow up with a healthy respect for the power of firearms instead of the irrational fear of inanimate instruments that you teach yours . Knowledge and respect prevent the disasters inherent with ignorant curiosity .

It is only a desire to maintain my son’s and my own privacy that prevents me from posting video of my 11 year old blazing away at the range with a full auto HK MP-5 . He’s an awesome shot with that , pistols and rifles . Soon to be better than his dad . That flick would surely require the paramedics .

Study: ABC, CBS & NBC Hype Romney’s ‘Binders’ Over Biden’s ‘Bullets’ by 11 to 1 Margin

“The Big Three networks (ABC, CBS and NBC) gave the faux furor over Mitt Romney’s “binders full of women” statement in Tuesday’s debate a whopping 22 mentions through Friday morning. Yet when Vice President Joe Biden, on Thursday, told an audience member that Republican  “young guns” like Vice Presidential nominee Paul Ryan had “bullets” aimed at him the networks delivered just a scant two total mentions (on NBC and CBS, ABC skipped the gaffe entirely.)”

In case you missed “Uncle Joe” ‘s remarks …

“Reporters have been trying to help Barack Obama limp across the finish line by creating a daily distraction to divert attention from the Obama administration’s awful record. Whenever possible, they have trumpeted the claim that Mitt Romney has committed one gaffe or another, that he is falling behind in the (bogus) polls, that his campaign is in disarray, and he is basically doomed.”

How is it that whenever Romney speaks a truth the media tries to generate a bogus controversy ? The fact is that what Romney says is correct … Nearly half the population is sucking on the government ( ie. Taxpayer’s) teat and Romney will never win the Looters over . Big Deal .

Powerline’s Scott Johnson

” According to one account, Chick-fil-A’s corporate headquarters told its outlets to expect a 15 to 20 percent increase in business
yesterday, while the actual increase may be closer to something like 200 percent. I suspect that Chick-fil-A’s business is going to enjoy a
permanent step-up in business as a result of the Left’s attack. This makes all the more hilarious
Michael Hiltzik’s Los Angeles Times column the other day (I’m linking it here since nobody reads the LA Times any more, and no wonder) saying that Chick-fil-A’s owner Dan Cathy made a business mistake by speaking his mind on traditional marriage: “

Clarice Feldman has a great piece about our “super genius” Wile E Coyote president , his continual exploding cigar moments and the desperate attempts by his toadies in the media to cover his a..

Even to the point of fabricating scandal out of whole cloth . See for example Chick-fil-A . Read the whole story .

” While the story contains tons of material defending traditional Christian teachings on sexuality, the controversial entrepreneur never talks about gay rights or gay marriage. Why? Because he wasn’t
asked about those issues in the interview.

   As the talented ElizabethScalia observes:

Read Mattingly’s whole piece, wherein he addresses the whole “well, they may not have said it but it’s what they meant, so what’s the big deal?” angle.

The big deal is simply this: the press put aside context and decided to paint this company as some radically-religious-gay-hating-entity and then let the forces of anger, hate and spite have their way with it.

The truth is, one can be a Christian and still be sympathetic to some parts of the so-called “gay agenda” without signing on
in toto. One can disagree on the issue of gay marriage – based on scripture, or thousands of years of tradition, or on natural law  without actually hating

But the right to principled opposition is being erased, quickly, and the press is doing all it can to help erase it. We are losing the
right to say, “I don’t think the same way you do; my opinions are different.”

That matters, a lot.

This is our mainstream press – the people charged with the public trust – and it has moved beyond advocacy and into “search
and destroy” mode.[/quote]

Bear in mind that not only did the company’s CEO never discuss gay marriage with the reporter, but also there’s never been even a
suggestion that the company-known for its fine product, excellent service and outstanding
community welfare efforts and employee relations-has discriminated in any way against
gays. “
