Garbage In, Garbage Out: GOP Operatives Design Immigration Survey To Support Amnesty

” Resurgent Republic, a Republican strategy group led by former party chairman Ed Gillespie and pollster Whit Ayres, is urging the GOP to get behind amnesty, a dramatic expansion of legal immigration, and the importation of more foreign workers, regardless of high unemployment. Not surprisingly, Gillespie, Ayres, and others associated with Resurgent Republic have close ties to the business wing of the Republican Party, which has traditionally favored large-scale immigration as a hedge against rising wages for workers.

To promote its agenda, Resurgent Republic conducted focus groups of Republican voters in Iowa and South Carolina and concluded, in a slickly produced report, that these voters are prepared to embrace a somewhat watered-down version of the immigration reform plan being offered by President Obama and congressional Democrats.

There is no evidence that Hispanic voters, a reliable Democratic constituency, are suddenly going to flock to the GOP just because the party belatedly endorses amnesty for illegal aliens.

Indeed, immigration policy does not rank high on the list priorities for Hispanic voters.”

” The AP has released a report stating that 3 Senators, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and Kelly
Ayotte have sent a letter to the desk of Barack Hussein Obama, requesting that the Benghazi CCTV
video, which captured the attack, be declassified. ”

” There is a very big chance that there will be no action to appease the American people with declassified information until after the November 6th elections. Until then, Barack Obama is likely to remain silent on the issue, dodging questions where he can and remaining silent where he can’t: ”

And thank goodness for that . As Victor Davis Hanson explains , Romney is putting up a fight and exhibiting a backbone that was not at all apparent in the McCain campaign of 4 years ago . Good for Romney . Good for US .

“But there is a far better lesson from the Romney counterpunching: Apparently his campaign is not going to be a repeat of Mike Dukakis’s smiley-face efforts when knocked silly by the late Lee Atwater’s no-holds-barred management of George H. W. Bush’s 1988 campaign. Nor will 2012 prove anything like 2008, when John McCain took all sorts of issues off the table — from Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers to scrutiny of Obama’s memoirs. Note in this regard the frequency with which an increasingly desperate Obama is now praising the McCain campaign, in contrast to the supposed extremism of Romney — as if an incumbent president George H. W. Bush would have admonished a “war room” Bill Clinton to emulate the more noble tone of Dukakis’s failed effort. “

“I say any president, Jimmy Carter, anybody, any president would have, obviously, under those circumstances, done the same thing.  And to now take credit for something that any president would do is indicative of take over campaign we’re under — we’re — we’re seeing…So all I can say is that this is going to be a very rough campaign,” McCain told Fox News in an interview set to air Monday night. “And I’ve had the great honor of serving in the company of heroes.  And, you know the thing about heroes, they don’t brag.”

“Of course. Even Jimmy Carter would have given that order . “

Mitt Romney

I think it’s fair to say that any American would have given the order , but how many would have the chutzpah to claim credit for it as if they took some personal risk in doing so ?
