” A trio of Minnesota brothers is upping their snow sculpture game. For the past four years the Bartz brothers of New Brighton, Minnesota have used their front lawn, and snow from Mother Nature, to create amazing works of art.

Their past creations include a walrus, shark, and puffer fish. This year the brothers created a giant sea turtle sculpture out of snow.”

Just over a year ago we featured these brothers for their creation of the “Snow Shark” . This year’s creation comes to us thanks to WHOTV

” Minnesotans woke up to subzero temperatures on Thanksgiving Day, and if the mercury doesn’t make it up into the double digits, the day could be one for the record books.

As of 8 a.m., it was 2 below in the Twin Cities, and 20 below in Bemidji, in northern Minnesota.

Meteorologist Matt Brickman is forecasting a high Thursday afternoon of 10 degrees. And if temperatures don’t rise higher than that, it will be the coldest Thanksgiving since Herbert Hoover was president, in 1930.”

Minnesota Now Requires A Criminal Conviction Before People Can Lose Their Property To Forfeiture

Minnesota State Capitol building in Saint Paul...

” In a big win for property rights and due process, Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton signed a bill yesterday to curb an abusive—and little known—police practice called civil forfeiture. Unlike criminal forfeiture, under civil forfeiture someone does not have to be convicted of a crime, or even charged with one, to permanently lose his or her cash, car or home.

The newly signed legislation, SF 874, corrects that injustice. Now the government can only take property if it obtains a criminal conviction or its equivalent, like if a property owner pleads guilty to a crime or becomes an informant. The bill also shifts the burden of proof onto the government, where it rightfully belongs. Previously, if owners wanted to get their property back, they had to prove their property was not the instrument or proceeds of the charged drug crime. In other words, owners had to prove a negative in civil court. Being acquitted of the drug charge in criminal court did not matter to the forfeiture case in civil court.”

Miracle Baby Survives 11-Story Balcony Fall

” Doctors say the chances of an adult surviving a fall from an 11-story balcony are small. Somehow, 1-year-old Musa Dayib fell from a balcony on Sunday and survived.

” It’s definitely a miracle. It’s God’s gift to his family. Kids don’t fall this far and make it often. Especially without a serious brain injury. You or I would’ve been dead,” physician Tina Slusher tells WFAA’s sister station KARE at Hennepin County Medical Center, where Dayib is in critical but stable condition.

Machines are breathing for him, both of his arms are broken, his lungs are bruised and his back is fractured. But Slusher says two things worked in his favor.

” Little (kids) are more flexible and don’t break as easily as we do and he also fell in a very small patch of mulch,” she said.

Doctors say it is to early to tell if the child will have long-term complications. For now, he is heavily sedated. Coupled with his broken arms, bruised lungs and other fractures he suffered a concussion. Initially doctors thought his skull was fractured but that was ruled out late Tuesday afternoon.”

” Between the biting winds and the snow storms, it’s been a tough winter . Some people are running out of places to put all the snow, but not farmer Greg Novak from Foley , Minnesota.

He decided to find something to smile about in this dreary weather. ” Building a snowman isn’t original,” Novak said. “Building one this big is a little different.”

Building one this big is very different and catching all the neighbors’ eyes.”I’d say it’s pretty amazing. Not many people do this,” said a Foley resident.

” When he started building it, I was like; you’ve got to be kidding me, right? It’s huge,” said Novak’s nephew, Tyler Miller. Novak started the snowman two months ago from the snow that was crushing his greenhouses.”

Cop Found “Not Guilty” After Beating Man In Wheelchair

” Officer Jouppi has been found “not guilty” of all charges in connection to a video showing him attack a citizen in a wheelchair. The 50-yr-old citizen, Anthony Jackson, was rolled into a detoxification facility by police. A staff member at the facility can be heard instructing Anthony that he was to surrender his jacket.

Being unable to walk normally, Anthony sarcastically asked, “Do you want me to throw it at you?” That’s when officer Jouppi can be seen grabbing his arm and twisting it back. Immediately Anthony said “Hey you can’t do that” and weakly swatted up at the officer to defend himself.

That’s when officer Jouppi began pounding in his face. Anthony’s head can be seen snapping back after officer Jouppi punched him the first time. But that wasn’t enough. Jouppi followed with a combination of punches until Anthony appeared to go limp. The video then shows Jouppi grabbing Anthony by the throat and ripping him out of his wheelchair.

As Anthony’s limp body hit the ground, officer Jouppi can be seen kneeing him in the torso. The staff member was visibly shocked by the officer’s violence and said “Dude…!” The officer replied to the staff member, “Stand back or I’ll arrest you. You think people in wheelchairs can’t assault people?” “

New Homeowner Removes Baseboard In Her House And Gets A 100-Year-Old Surprise

” When you buy an old home, most surprises found inside the walls during a remodel are unwelcome: dead animals, asbestos, knob and tube wiring. The reaction of a Minnesota woman when she popped off a baseboard in her recently purchased 1910 Cape Cod kitchen was no different. Then she she took a closer look.

“ When I first pulled off the baseboard I thought, ‘ewwww…someone’s nasty stuff is back here,’” Amanda Reddy told TheBlaze in an email.

Then, she started pulling out post cards dating back to 1907 and 1909 along with a few other possessions.”

What These 3 Brothers Made In Their Yard Is Simply Unbelievable. Seriously, WOW.

” If you live in a state above the snow line, then during the winter you’re going to have to deal with some of that white, fluffy stuff. Three brothers in Minnesota had an idea: they were not just going to shovel their driveway and leave it at that. Instead, the teenage brothers Austin, Connor, and Trevor Bartz decided to do something unbelievable. The three stunned their neighbors in New Brighton, Minnesota by spending 95 hours over the course of 3.5 weeks building a gigantic, 20 foot tall snow shark in their yard.”

Here is a video of the construction process .

1,000 Report Seeing Fireball Over Iowa And Minnesota

” More than 1,000 people reported seeing a fireball in the skies over Iowa and Minnesota on December 26, with footage of the incident being captured by security cameras and the National Weather Service (NWS), various media outlets reported over the weekend.

According to Adam Withnall of The Independent, eyewitnesses reported that the object was approximately as bright as the sun, and was visible shooting across the sky for several seconds before it suddenly appeared to break apart.

The ball of light was also reportedly emitting sonic activity similar in nature to previously confirmed meteor sightings, Withnall added. While it is believed that it was indeed a meteor, that has not yet been officially confirmed.”

DHS Now Taking Bids For 2 States; Top Secret Force

” Remember when Hussein Obama was saying that we need a domestic police force that is just as strong as our military, during the 2008 campaign?  A few of us wondered at the time why we needed that. It was largely ignored up until recently but he is making good on that claim. It’s much more than a claim now; it’s becoming a real threat.”

Remember now ? He wasn’t kidding as we are well aware . All is proceeding as the Statists have planned , and there are new developments as this article states .

” As the process moves forward, a new request for bid has been posted on the General Services Administration website for DHS contractors. The Contract is seeking to fill the positions of “Security Guards and Patrol Services”, for a term of one year, with four one year renewals and a six month renewal. That’s five and a half years of security to begin with. The Contractor also needs to have a Top Secret Security Clearance.”

412 bid1

What on earth is so important in the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin that it requires a $100 million contract for “security services” ? Oh , and did we mention , one of the contract requirements is a “Top Secret” security clearance ?

” A Congressional audit and accountability study needs to be conducted for all of the recent bids, including riot protection and offensive weaponry; ammunition and vehicles should be conducted determining their supposed justification and legitimacy.

Secondly, an investigation into the reasons behind the secretive nature of the operation of DHS must be carried out. Of course, there will be the resistance floated that national security concerns prevent disclosure. Not true, national security concerns demand that this be done.”

Leviathan is growing more lethal and secretive by the day , even as we stand by and fund the instruments of our own destruction.

Obamacare Marketplaces Raise Data Security Concerns

” Minnesota insurance broker Jim Koester was looking for information about assisting with Obamacare implementation; instead, what landed in his inbox last month was a document filled with the names, Social Security numbers and other pieces of personal information belonging to his fellow Minnesotans.

In one of the first breaches of the new Obamacare online marketplaces, an employee of the Minnesota marketplace, called MNsure, accidentally emailed Koester a document containing personally identifying information for more than 2,400 insurance agents, the Minnesota Star Tribune reported. MNsure was able to quickly undo the damage because Koester cooperated with them, but the incident left him unnerved.

The more I thought about it, the more troubled I was,” Koester told the newspaper. “What if this had fallen into the wrong hands? It’s scary. If this is happening now, how can clients of MNsure be confident their data is safe?”

Online marketplaces like MNsure, called exchanges, are now running in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as part of the changes established under the Affordable Care Act. Open enrollment began on Tuesday, and as many as 7 million people are expected to sign up for private insurance plans on the exchanges in the next six months. Personal information for all of those customers will be routed from a federal datahub to the state-based exchanges, leaving people like Koester, and some health data experts, concerned about the program’s security.”

FBI Stops Terror Plot In Western Minnesota

” The FBI believes “a terror attack was disrupted” when authorities arrested a man after they converged on a mobile home in western Minnesota that contained Molotov cocktails, suspected pipe bombs and firearms, the agency said Monday.

Buford Rogers, 24, was arrested Friday and charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He remains in federal custody and it is not clear if he has an attorney.”

” In a news release Monday, the FBI said it believes “the lives of several local residents were potentially saved” by the search and arrest.

The agency said the terror plot was discovered through analysis of intelligence gathered by local, state and federal authorities.”

Let us get this straight , The FBI arrests some hillbilly felon in a mobile home in some backwater town in western Minnesota , potentially saving “the lives of several local residents” and this constitutes a thwarted “terror” attack ?

Are we to believe that every potential grudge , revenge or murder plot is now to be categorized as an incident of “terror” ? Can you say “battle-space preparation” ?

‘Do they still have final meals on death row?’ Suspect’s chilling words after he ‘admits to beating his 19-year-old college student girlfriend to death with a dumbbell’

” A 22-year-old Arizona man turned himself in to police this week and admitted to beating his girlfriend, a 19-year-old college student, to death with a dumbbell in their apartment days earlier.

The victim has been identified as Arizona State University junior and Minnesota native Rebecca ‘Becky’ Kasper, whose decomposing body was discovered in the bathtub in the off-campus apartment she shared with Luis Soltero.

Court documents made public Wednesday state that Soltero, who is not believed to be a student, left a note next to the apparent murder weapon allegedly admitting to the brutal slaying. “

Popular Mechanics Pays A Visit To Drive A Tank

” I toggle the gearshift with my left foot, push the release button atop a pair of levers used for steering, and press the gas pedal. The behemoth eases forward like a land-bound battleship, the treads clanking with a near-musical chime. Fifteen feet to go. Ten. Five. A part of my brain, conditioned by years of careful driving, starts screaming, Warning! Collision imminent! And then I’m lurching upward to the sound of crunching and shattering. As I settle back toward level again, I set the brakes, climb out of the hatch, and clamber down to assess the damage.

This moment of mechanical omnipotence has come courtesy of Drive A Tank, an internal-combustion fantasy camp founded five years ago by a heavy-equipment contractor named Tony Borglum. I arrived yesterday in the small town of Kasota and met with the 26-year-old at his garage, a hangar-like space crammed with military vehicles: two enormous tanks, a couple of self-propelled guns, an assortment of armored personnel carriers, and a vintage Jeep mounted with a .50-caliber machine gun. Some countries may be less heavily armed.”

Democratic Business Owners In MN: Sheesh, These Taxes Sure Do Look Troublesome

” As its neighbors look to cut and simplify tax systems to attract businesses to their states, Minnesota’s Gov. Mark Dayton has a different idea:

For generations, Minnesotans lived out the progressive argument that high taxes and high services were what gave the state its fabled quality of life. But the patience of business owners is being tried more than ever, as Dayton and the Democrats who now control the Capitol mull a menu of tax increases that would primarily hit company ledgers — just as most states are going the opposite way.

Dayton has proposed tax changes he says would make the system fairer and also bring in $2 billion in new revenue. Much of the gain would come from a state sales tax on “business-to-business” purchases like legal, accounting, banking and printing costs. Few states tax such services. He would also boost Minnesota’s personal income tax rates from eighth to fourth highest in the nation, behind only Hawaii, California and Oregon.

There are some business owners, even lifelong Democrats, who are feeling the pinch and wondering if it’s worth it:”
