Published on Feb 11, 2014

” The Obama administration is teaming up with conservative lawmakers in Congress to try and restore voting rights to millions of ex-convicts. Devlin Barrett reports on the News Hub.”

The party of Lincoln is hell-bent on self-destruction . How did we ever come up with such “leadership” ?

House Leaders Sell Immigration Blueprint

” The House Republican leadership is trying to sell their colleagues on a series of broad immigration principles, including a path to legal status for those here illegally.

Speaker John Boehner’s leadership team introduced the principles at their annual policy retreat here. Top Republicans circulated a tightly held one-page memo titled “standards for immigration reform” toward the tail-end of a day that include strategy conversations about Obamacare, the economy and the national debt.

In the private meeting where the language was introduced, Boehner (R-Ohio) told Republicans that the standards are “as far as we are willing to go.” “

Politico has lots more on the sellout of working Americans
If you , like us , have had enough of the House “republican leadership” pandering to their cronies in the corporate world and volunteering to wipe Dear Leader’s backside sign the petition to Fire Boehner and do not forget that our former vice-presidential nominee , Mr Ryan is also an amnesty backer . SECURE THE DAMN BORDER . That is your job Congress .

Rubio Would Lose Latino Vote to Biden 60 to 28

“We have to pass amnesty right now to fill the country with unskilled poor Mexicans who are the Latino demographic least likely under any conceivable set of circumstances to vote Republican.

And even after becoming the champion of amnesty, Marco Rubio would still decisively lose the Latino vote to Joe Biden. What do you call that? De Facto Destructiveness?

In a potential 2016 presidential election matchup, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would beat Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) among Latinos, a poll out Monday shows.

Clinton is the favorite to Rubio 66 percent to 28 percent, the survey from Latino Decisions reports. Rubio also loses in a potential matchup against Vice President Joe Biden 60 percent to 28 percent.”

A weaker candidate we couldn’t imagine than one that gets trounced by “Crazy Uncle” Joe Biden .

ICE UNION ATTACKS CORKER-HOEVEN AMENDMENT

” “So that’s the answer from U.S. Senators,” Crane, an ICE agent and a former marine, told Breitbart News exclusively on Sunday morning. “They know the bill is bad but plan to pass it anyway? With billions of taxpayer dollars to be spent and the safety of the public on the line, Senators plan to pass the buck to the House with hopes they might fix it? Anti-enforcement special interests have succeeded in pressuring the Senate from doing what’s best for America. This is why America has lost faith in its lawmakers.” “

Odds Grow Longer For Immigration Reform

” Many pundits assumed that this would be the year that comprehensive immigration reform became law. The conventional wisdom was that President Obama’s re-election and his strong showing among Hispanic voters would force Republicans to go along.

Now, halfway through the year, the prospects for immigration reform have dimmed significantly.

Seventy-six percent have a favorable view of immigrants who work hard, support their families and pursue the American Dream.

But they also want the system to work so that the border will be secure enough to prevent future illegal immigration.”

New Immigration Bill Has More Waivers And Exceptions Per Page Than Obamacare

” The Senate’s “Gang of Eight” has released a new version of the immigration bill that contains 999 references to waivers, exemptions and political discretion.

The revised 867-page bill contains multiple changes from the first 844-page version, released April 18, but Democrats have not announced any delay to the committee review of the complex bill that begins next week.

The bill includes roughly 1.14 waivers or exemptions per page. By comparison, the 2,409-page Obamacare law includes 0.78 waivers and exemptions per page.”

Garbage In, Garbage Out: GOP Operatives Design Immigration Survey To Support Amnesty

” Resurgent Republic, a Republican strategy group led by former party chairman Ed Gillespie and pollster Whit Ayres, is urging the GOP to get behind amnesty, a dramatic expansion of legal immigration, and the importation of more foreign workers, regardless of high unemployment. Not surprisingly, Gillespie, Ayres, and others associated with Resurgent Republic have close ties to the business wing of the Republican Party, which has traditionally favored large-scale immigration as a hedge against rising wages for workers.

To promote its agenda, Resurgent Republic conducted focus groups of Republican voters in Iowa and South Carolina and concluded, in a slickly produced report, that these voters are prepared to embrace a somewhat watered-down version of the immigration reform plan being offered by President Obama and congressional Democrats.

There is no evidence that Hispanic voters, a reliable Democratic constituency, are suddenly going to flock to the GOP just because the party belatedly endorses amnesty for illegal aliens.

Indeed, immigration policy does not rank high on the list priorities for Hispanic voters.”

ILLEGAL BORDER CROSSINGS MORE THAN DOUBLE SINCE AMNESTY TALKS STARTED

” Reports indicate that since Senator John McCain’s “Gang of Eight” restarted their latest push for amnesty, illegal border crossing from Mexico to the U.S. have more than doubled.

It appears those entering the country illegally want to be sure they are here in case a blanket amnesty pronouncement is issued.

Therefore, at the very time Sens. John McCain (R-AZ), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Robert Menendez (D-FL), Michael Bennett (D-Col.), and Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) are pushing for a path to citizenship is, our border is becoming more and more porous, and everyone who can get here illegally is doing it.”

The Ground Shifts On Immigration

” Today a bipartisan group of Senators will unveil the framework for a major new immigration reform bill. You can read the framework right here. The most important fact about the plan is that it articulates as a policy goal the need to provide a path to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrants. That was the bottom line for Senate Democrats and immigration reform advocates, and they got four Republican Senators to agree to it.

It’s the price Democrats paid for this concession that could be the problem. It’s a cliche to say at such moments that the “Devil is in the details,” but in this case, boy is the Devil ever in the details.

The rub is that the process for putting undocumented immigrants — who will be granted probationary legal status — on a path to citizenship is contingent on a commission deciding that the border is secure. The framework describes that commission this way:

We recognize that Americans living along the Southwest border are key to recognizing and understanding when the border is truly secure. Our legislation will create a commission of governors, attorneys general and community leaders living along the southwest border to monitor the progress of securing our border and to make a recommendation regarding when the bill’s security measures outlined in the legislation are completed.”

This all sounds like the “bipartisan” republicans have actually forced the dems to give up something and to create the appearance that they are toeing a hard line but it is all a sham , read on …

As Sharry put it, Democrats realize that they can’t “allow the commission to have a real veto” over setting in motion the path to citizenship. He noted that Dems see the commission as “something that gives the Republicans a talking point” to claim they are prioritizing tough enforcement, giving themselves cover to back a process that “won’t stop people from getting citizenship.”

So the enforcement mechanism is a line of bulls**t so that the Rino’s can try to have it both ways … Sucking up to the Hispanic lobby and standing tall with their law and order conservative base . Citizens screwed and sold down the river once again in hopes of gaining a few more votes for the GOP . What a bunch of cowardly snakes . And they wonder why the are the minority party ? IDIOTS !

These Rino’s are deluding themselves if they think that supporting amnesty will buy them any cred with the Hispanic voting bloc . This path has been trodden before  , back in 1986 by a strong republican president , and 27 years later is the hispanic share of the vote for the GOP any better ?

Here are some stats from the past 9 presidential elections …

–1980 Jimmy Carter, 56% Ronald Reagan, 35% +21

–1984 Walter Mondale, 61% Ronald Reagan, 37% +24

Reagan Signs Amnesty Bill , November 1986

–1988 Michael Dukakis, 69% George H.W. Bush, 30% +39

–1992 Bill Clinton, 61% George H.W. Bush, 25% +36

–1996 Bill Clinton, 72% Bob Dole, 21% +51

–2000 Al Gore, 62% George W. Bush, 35% +27

–2004 John Kerry, 58% George W. Bush, 40% +18

–2008 Barack Obama, 67% John McCain, 31% +36

–2012 Barack Obama, 71% Mitt Romney, 27% +44

And bear in mind that none of the above listed republican presidential candidates were what one might consider hard-liners regarding immigration reform . As a matter of fact they were all pretty much squishes in that regard and their lack of convictions produced exactly nothing in terms of increased Hispanic voter loyalty to the GOP .

Groundhog Day for Immigration

” But the specific policies Ned Ryerson Rubio is selling are just the same old, same old: “earned” amnesty for illegal aliens plus de facto unlimited immigration, in exchange for promises to some day implement E-Verify and build more fencing.

Even worse, what makes me want to throw a toaster into the bath tub is the utter lack of awareness that nothing Rubio’s saying is even remotely novel. Either he or the writer, Matthew Kaminski, or both, don’t seem to realize we’re hearing I Got You, Babe all over again. Rubio’s plan is described as one that “charges up the middle,” between “the liberal fringe that seeks broad amnesty for illegal immigrants and the hard right’s obsession with closing the door” — as though any element of Rubio’s proposal would be a deal breaker for the left.

This phony triangulation theme has been a hallmark of Republican politicians trying to convince their voters that they’re not just doing what the Democrats want them to do. After describing Rubio’s idea that there would be different stages of amnesty, we learn from the writer that “The staged process won’t please either the blanket amnesty crowd or the Minutemen” — except, of course, that the “staged” or “earned” amnesty was dreamed up by the Left in the first place. Again, the writer paraphrases Rubio: “The president, he says, would need to bring over Big Labor and talk back the most ardent pro-immigration groups from ‘unrealistic’ positions on citizenship for illegals.” “

“In a video obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller, then-presidential candidate Barack Obama tells an audience of black ministers, including the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, that the U.S. government shortchanged Hurricane Katrina victims because of racism.

“The people down in New Orleans they don’t care about as much!” Obama shouts in the video, which was shot in June of 2007 at Hampton University in Virginia. By contrast, survivors of Sept. 11 and Hurricane Andrew received generous amounts of aid, Obama explains. The reason? Unlike residents of majority-black New Orleans, the federal government considers those victims “part of the American family.”

The racially charged and at times angry speech undermines Obama’s carefully-crafted image as a leader eager to build bridges between ethnic groups. For nearly 40 minutes, using an accent he almost never adopts in public, Obama describes a racist, zero-sum society, in which the white majority profits by exploiting black America. The mostly black audience shouts in agreement. The effect is closer to an Al Sharpton rally than a conventional campaign event.

” Thoughts on night three of the
Democratic convention”

” Barack Obama went into this convention essentially tied with Mitt Romney. Most voters want to think well of whoever is president but most voters dislike the current economy and disapprove of his economic policies. In these
circumstances I thought and think he needs a pivot, an indication of what new goals he would seek in a second term. We didn’t get that at this convention. Bill Clinton dramatically made the argument that no one–not even Bill Clinton–
could have done better. This will be credible to many voters, but probably not to some current
Undecideds. “

” Taxpayer-funded youth outreach: 435 visits by Obama admin to campuses since 2011 “

“President Obama and his administration officials have made 435 taxpayer-funded visits to college campuses or other events targeting students since March 2011 , including 166 trips to
battleground states, a new study shows. “The travel is not tied to trying to pass a specific piece of legislation,” Paul Conway, president of the influential youth group, Generation Opportunity, told The Washington Examiner. “It’s all travel specifically targeted to a
demographic. And when you think about how important a role young voters play in [Obama’s] coalition, then it’s not just by happenstance.” “

“Sugar Daddy in Chief”

“And Obama has repeatedly over the past several months used his executive authority to reward certain key constituencies, a process sometimes referred to as “vote buying.”

Here are five prominent examples:”

Who will  hold Obama accountable for the blatant disregard of campaign ethics ? I mean between his acceptance of donations large and small from all comers to his use of taxpayer funded travel his does nothing but self-promotion . At our expense .

“Last week, Barack Obama delivered speeches at universities in Chapel Hill, N.C.; Iowa City, Iowa, and Boulder, Colo. The trip was, press secretary Jay Carney assured us, official government business, not political campaigning.
It’s part of a pattern. Neil Munro of the Daily Caller has counted 130 appearances by the president, vice president, their spouses, White
House officials and Cabinet secretaries at colleges and universities since spring 2011. “
