” On Tuesday night, PBS aired its latest Frontline documentary aimed at attacking the NRA entitled “Gunned Down: The Power of the NRA.” On multiple occasions, the program did its best to promote the activities of anti-gun activists while discrediting the efforts of the NRA to protect the Second Amendment.

Throughout the hour long special, Frontline reporter Jim Gilmore highlighted several mass shootings over the past three decades, and the program expressed dismay at how the NRA could continue to successfully promote its agenda despite several high-profile shootings in America.

Gilmore introduced the NRA special by discussing the shooting of Gabby Giffords and President Obama’s subsequent reaction to the attempted assassination of a member of Congress. The documentary highlighted numerous individuals including Dennis Henigan, former Vice President of the Brady Campaign to prevent Gun Violence, to sympathize with President Obama’s response in the wake of the shooting.:

The President was extremely compassionate. He was enormously eloquent. But he did everything in his power to avoid using the word “gun” in the wake of that shooting.”

Read it all and wonder why your tax dollars continue to fund anti-gun propaganda such as this .

Harvard Study Says Marijuana Cures Cancer

” Researchers at Harvard tested the chemical THC in both lab and mouse studies. They say this is the first set of experiments to show that the compound, THC actually activates naturally produced receptors to fight off lung cancer. The researchers suggest that THC or other designer agents that activate these receptors might be used in a targeted fashion to treat lung cancer.

The only clinical trial testing THC as a treatment against cancer growth was a recently completed British pilot study. For three weeks, researchers injected standard doses of THC into mice that had been implanted with human lung cancer cells, and found that tumors were reduced in size and weight by about 50 percent in treated animals compared to a control group. There was also about a 60 percent reduction in cancer lesions on the lungs in these mice as well as a significant reduction in protein markers associated with cancer progression. “

For your consideration : Clearing the Smoke: The Science of Cannabis , an hour long PBS documentary , excerpts of which comprised the above video .

Uploaded on Aug 11, 2011

” Clearing the Smoke, reveals how cannabis acts on the brain and in the body to treat nausea, pain, epilepsy and potentially even cancer.

Extensive interviews with patients, doctors, researchers and skeptics detail the promises and the limitations of medicinal cannabis. Even though the video has an American perspective, marijuana use is illegal throughout many countries of the world for reasons that are not clear.

This video is important because it mainly investigates the scientific basis underlying the medical benefits of marijuana use instead of focusing on the social, political and legal hysteria that have been attached to it.

The paper mentioned in this video, Marihuana Reconsidered, was published in book form. The author, Dr Lester Grinspoon, is the world’s leading authority on marijuana. In this book, Dr Grinspoon examines — and debunks — many of the common misconceptions about marijuana.

Big Bird to Obama:

Mr. President, Leave Me Out Of This

” The Obama campaign can’t seem to catch a break these days.  This is the third time after the Denver debate that the President’s campaign has been scolded by one of their information sources.  For instance, AARP told the Obama campaign not to quote them.  Princeton economist professor Harvey Rosen publicly stated that the President misrepresented his work.  Now, Big Bird wants out of the Obama campaign’s rhetoric, even demanding that one of their ads that featured Big Bird be taken down.  The Wall Street Journal reports on the new ad:

Up went an ad by team Obama called “Big Bird’’ that suggests Mr. Romney is targeting children’s programming rather than legitimate threats to people’s economic interests.

The ad shows images of Bernie Madoff and others implicated in various financial and corporate scandals. A narrator then intones: “And the evil genius who towered over them?”

A silhouette of Big Bird flashes on screen.”

Michelle Malkin at Right Wing News

“On Wednesday night, left-leaning TV anchor Jim Lehrer of government-supported PBS will moderate the first 90-minute presidential debate in Denver. The forum will focus on domestic policy. Lehrer alone will determine the topics and questions for six 15-minute segments, and then he will control an “open discussion” for each segment.

We know the liberal media bias drill: Make the Republican candidate look like a scary extremist on social issues and a greedy capitalist pig on economic issues. Avoid the Democratic incumbent’s record of failure. Run out the clock. Thank you and good night.

Here’s my starter list of domestic policy debate topics and related questions that should be asked, but probably won’t be. Lapdog media, please go ahead and prove me wrong:”
