To Win Millenials, The GOP Needs To Embrace Its Inner Libertarian

” The under-30 crowd doesn’t think much of most Democrats, but it’s got an even lower opinion of Republicans.

Earlier this year, Bobby Jindal, the GOP governor of Louisiana, surveyed the wreckage of Mitt Romney’s sad-sack presidential campaign and told his fellow Republicans that if they ever want to capture the White House again, “We must stop being the stupid party.”

The young of this country have an even greater stake in future government than do we older citizens , after all , they are the ones that are being saddled with a seemingly insurmountable debt . Given the past two presidential disasters brought on by the GOP’s strict adherence to the “Old Boy” network one would think that the establishment would be open to some fresh ideas .

” … a new report from the College Republican National Committee(CRNC) strongly suggests that another tack would be even more successful: The GOP should embrace its small, youthful, and increasingly influential libertarian caucus that focuses on cutting government spending – even or especially on old-age entitlements — and quit fretting over gay marriage or the need to invade and occupy foreign countries.”

It’s not enough to pretend to represent smaller government in public then behind closed doors vote for ever more spending . It’s time to actually walk the walk .

” Despite its endless small-government rhetoric, such a change may be too radical for a Republican Party whose last two candidates were a combined 138 years old when they ran for the Oval Office. But it’s the best way forward for a GOP that’s even less exciting than your father’s Oldsmobile.”

While much is made of the impact of “low information” voters , they are merely a scapegoat and  the failure of the Republican leadership to recognize the fact that the millenial generation holds the key to the future of this country’s governance can do nothing but ensure the GOP’s marginalization .

” Millenials, says the report, don’t care much about abstractions such as that favorite Republican bogeyman, “big government.” But they are into cutting government spending and reducing national debt, as they realize both things are strangling their future before it begins. Fully 90 percent agree that Social Security and Medicare need to be reformed now, 82 percent are ready to “make tough choices about cutting government spending, even on some programs some people really like,” and 72 percent want to cut the size of government “because it is simply too big.”

The choice is clear , Libertarianism IS the future … at least it is if one wants to win elections and be in a position to bring about the real change that is necessary to restore the principles that our Founders believed in and that made America what it once was . It is not a radical departure … on the contrary , it is a return to our roots .

While the present GOP pays lip service to the greatness of our forefathers it is the youth and their attitudes , despite generations of public school indoctrination , that would make Thomas Jefferson and James Madison proud .

The Constitution: Birthed In Self-Determination

” The proper question in any political system is who are the sovereigns?

Is the President the Sovereign?  Is Congress the Sovereign?  Is a King the sovereign?  Are the people the Sovereigns?  Why so much confusion over the question of whether the Union is a democracy or a republic?

The answers to those questions seem to puzzle many commentators.  Though the Union is a constitutional republic, for arguments sake, let us assume the Union was a democracy.  It doesn’t alter the fundamental truth regarding sovereignty.  The people are the sovereigns and the people are the source of all power in our political system.  However, the system is not majority rule, nor it is a system of absolute power where might makes right.  Our entire political system rests on a single fundamental principle — the consent of the governed; the right to self-governance and self-determination.”

Red Skelton & The Pledge of Allegiance

” This is a classic – I heard it a long time ago and I’m glad to have this clip now. It’s a shame that the elites today – captains of industry, jet-setters, politicians, bankers, and the ultra-wealthy – now consider themselves above allegiance to America. This includes Barack Hussein Obama and his shrew Michelle, who refuse to call themselves AMERICANS, but instead HE calls himself a ‘citizen of the world’. What an obamination to call one’s self a global citizen….

Especially poignant are Skelton’s comments about the symbology of the flag, the sovereignty of our states, the nature of our Republic, “indivisible”, and “liberty and justice for all”…

The sovereignty of our states was dealt a mighty blow with the War Between the States, properly titled “The War of Northern Aggression”, but colloquially referred to as “The Civil War”. The 17th Amendment was the last nail in the coffin, stripping the ability of the states to stop an out-of-control federal government by recalling their senators.

I’m not sure at what point exactly we stopped being a Republic. Some will say it happened when Barack Obama became President, but it actually began long ago. I would argue that it happened in earnest during October 2008, when the ‘financial crisis’ that threatened total economic collapse was used to loot our treasury wholesale with a ‘blank check’. In any event, our government is now socialist. It controls portions of our financial sectors, the housing market, the automotive industry (i.e.,”Government Motors”), the insurance industry, health-care, ad nauseam.

Skelton correctly identifies the pecking order between the government and the people: the people are supposed to be in charge. How I miss those days!

He speaks of “indivisible” – yet today, the elites manipulate the masses with a false left-right political paradigm that divides the people between left/liberal/Democrat and right/conservative/Republican. This false paradigm conveniently ignores Libertarians, the Constitution Party, authoritarian vs. libertarian governance, and the 1001 permutations of our American political landscape. Instead, the people align themselves along left/right like sheep, and through our divisions we are being conquered.

Liberty. Oh, to have the full measure of it now, like an asthmatic struggling for just one unobstructed deep breath. People have no notion of what real freedom would be like because they lack the perspective of American history. Not what Rosa Parks had, but what she hoped for. Not what we have today, but what the founders and millions of American Patriots throughout our history aspire for us to have. Certainly NOT what the globalist elites have in store for us.

Justice… well, what can I say? America now incarcerates over 2 million people, more than even Communist China. Per capita, we are without peer in the imprisonment of our fellow citizens. To be sure, we have a large criminal class in our society because we have taken God out of the schools and allowed our children to be taught “values clarification”, “situation ethics”, or whatever politically correct name you may have for moral relativism. We criminalize behaviors that involve no victim and punish violations of the same without mercy. We use these statutes to wage a larger ‘war on liberty’, which in turn undermines our rights to property (civil asset forfeiture), freedom from self-incrimination (entrapment), even our right to travel unmolested (checkpoints) and our freedom of speech (zones).

Are you proud of a government that has forbidden our children to even speak of God in our schools? Or the thousand other things inconsistent with our heritage of liberty?

I suggest we begin reciting a “Constitution Pledge” to help restore respect for all the things we hold sacred in the Pledge of Allegiance. It would read:
I pledge allegiance to the Constitution for the united States of America, and to the Republic for which our flag stands, one nation under Almighty God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.”

The Federalist Papers

… Secession

A New Declaration Of Independence

” Noting that “secession itself is a red herring,” Jones said what the nation really needs “is a new Declaration of Independence…”

“The purest American values, the purest essence of the United States was secession from a corrupt, distant corporate empire backed up by military force,” he said. “We are recaptured by the progeny; by the literal and figurative offspring of those robber barons 235 years ago. We are at the crossroads, and the entire enemy battle plan that we’ve reverse engineered is designed to suppress states’ rights movements. Because the states created the federal government and it is not their right, it is not their duty, we the people that make the states, it is an absolute imperative beyond duty. It is survival that we secede from the New World Order that has conquered us through fraud; that we declare the fraud null and void and then reconstitute the Republic with a new Congress of the several states.”

Jones’ appeal comes as the legislatures in several states, most in the Midwest and South, work to nullify all or parts of federal laws, including the health reform measure popularly known as “Obamacare,” and, in the case of Texas, invasive pre-travel searches by the Transportation Security Administration.

‘This is the time for dedication’

Jones said the country’s “new Declaration of Independence” cannot wait “until July 4th.”

“The system has prepared for this; sold Obama as the next Lincoln, and said any state’s right movement is civil war. Glenn Beck is saying it’s illegal and civil war. It is the essence of America. And there’s a new Ron Paul video he put out this morning at Infowars.com that we just posted where he says that secession is the ultimate American value.”

He continued: “America is already gone. We must recognize that, pull out the New World Order, prosecute the criminals that have hijacked the Republic that don’t flee, and then reconstitute the Republic. But we must first separate or die to then rejoin. … This is time for dedication. This is time for commitment, and the spiritual decision to sign your John Hancock in your words and your deeds towards the restoration of our Republic and putting us back on the course of liberty and justice for all.” “
