Christopher Dorner $1m Reward Split Between Three

Christopher Dorner

” Three people who helped authorities find the Los Angeles police officer turned killer Christopher Dorner will share a $1m (£646,000) reward, a panel of retired judges has ruled.

A furor erupted after two of the groups that originally pledged to contribute to a reward for Dorner’s capture wanted to pull their money out because he had killed himself. The three-judge panel, however, ruled that Dorner had in effect been captured when he was surrounded by police in the cabin where he died.

The judges found that a married couple who broke free and called police after being tied up by Dorner in their mountain cabin should receive 80% of the reward; a ski resort employee who spotted Dorner’s burning truck in the San Bernardino Mountains five days earlier should get 15%; and 5% should go to a tow truck driver who reported seeing Dorner in a gas station earlier that day.

Dorner, 33, who was accused of killing four people in a vendetta against the police force, died on 12 February in a fiery conclusion to a standoff with officers in the mountains above Los Angeles.”

” An upstate New York lawmaker comdemned Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo new program to reward informers helping him enforce the Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act of 2013 his landmark restriction of gun rights.

What was initially designed to be a tip line for citizens to call in suspected criminals in hot pursuit in six urban areas that showed a spike in crime has morphed into an old German Stasi – snitch line,” said Assemblyman William R. Nojay (R – Pittsford).

“I envision SWAT teams descending upon innocent people,” he said.

“Rat out your neighbor, rat out your co-worker, rat out the parents at your child’s school and receive a $500 cash payment for any call leading to an arrest or conviction,” said Nojay, an attorney and radio talk show host.”

Dorner Reward Loophole: 3 Rewards Amounting to $1.2 Million Likely to Be Unpaid

” Chris Dorner’s reward has a big loophole basically preventing all those instrumental in finding the ex-LAPD cop fugitive from claiming the $1 million reward, according to reports out on Wednesday.

It has been reported that a number of local citizens in the Los Angeles area where Christopher Dorner was found and ultimately died, played a big part in police locating him.

The Mayor of Los Angeles had announced a $1 million reward for anyone who could provide information to police leading to the “capture and conviction” of Dorner. The $1 million is said to have been funded by private groups. However, technically the offer was made for his capture, and also his ultimate conviction in a court of law.”

“Double-dipping: ATF ‘rewarding’ man who ran Operation Fast and Furious”

” One of the federal law enforcement officials that Congress regards as most responsible for
Operation Fast and Furious received extended paid leave from his government job, which allows him to draw a second salary working at JP Morgan.

The paid leave also allows McMahon to get a larger pension when he finally, officially, leaves
the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.”

For the big money crowd , Obama has been a great investment . The rate of return is just fantastic . It seems that a couple hundred thousand donated to Campaign 2008 yields tens or even hundreds of millions in return . What other investment can produce that rate of interest ?

“A one-sentence bill worth $300 million to a bank owned by a politically connected family that has doled out hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign donations is about to get a big push forward.

Set to be approved by the House Financial Services Committee on Thursday, the legislation would help Emigrant Savings Bank of New York sidestep a costly mandate of the Dodd-Frank financial reform law. No other bank in the country would be affected.”
