Secret Service Erased Tapes Of Latest White House Incident

” The Secret Service told members of Congress that the majority of the surveillance videos documenting the latest allegations of misconduct, a March 4 crash at the White House, have been erased and that the destruction of the tapes is standard operating procedure.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, said Secret Service Director Joseph Clancy showed him two existing surveillance tapes of that night, when two Secret Service agents have been accused of bumping into a White House barricade while driving after a night of drinking, but they offered only severely limited views of the sequence of events that night.”

Two Secret Service Agents Drunkenly Crashed White House Barricades: Official

” Two senior Secret Service agents under investigation for a late-night accident at the White House that involved alcohol have been reassigned to “non-supervisory and non-operational” assignments, according to a Secret Service official.

Two agents, including one who served on President Obama’s exclusive protective detail, last Wednesday allegedly drove a government vehicle onto White House property and smashed into barricades after a retirement party at a nearby bar for the agency’s former top spokesman.”

Doubts Chip Away At Nation’s Most Trusted Agencies

” Even as Americans’ trust in government eroded in recent years, people kept faith in a handful of agencies and institutions admired for their steadiness in ensuring the country’s protection.

To safeguard the president, there was the solidity of the Secret Service. To stand vigil against distant enemies, the U.S. nuclear missile corps was assumed to be on the job. And to ward off threats to public health, the nation counted on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Now, in the space of just a few months, the reputations of all those agencies – as well as the Veterans Administration – have been tarred by scandal or tarnished by doubt. Maybe a public buffeted by partisan rhetoric and nonstop news should be used to this by now. But, with the CDC facing tough questions about its response to the Ebola outbreak, something feels different. Government is about doing collectively what citizens can’t do alone, but its effectiveness is premised on trust.

A year ago, with Washington shut down and trust in government near records lows, the CDC still won a 75 percent approval rating, the highest of any federal agency, a poll by the Pew Research Center found. But when CBS News surveyed Americans in mid-October, just 37 percent said the agency was doing a good or excellent job.”

There is no mystery to this lack of confidence in the State , When you politicize government agencies you immediately gain a near fifty percent disapproval right at the start . There is nowhere to go but down .

” The Homeland Security Department won a 66 percent approval rating a year ago. But that was before the Secret Service, which is a part of the agency, was caught in a number of lapses: among them, the agency’s failure to stop a man armed with a knife from scaling the fence and running into White House and the unchecked entry of an armed contractor onto an elevator with the president. In the new CBS news poll, just 38 percent of those questioned rated the Secret Service’s performance as good or excellent and 43 percent did so for its parent department.

The Veterans Administration was viewed favorably by 68 percent of those polled last year. But it too has since been swept up in a scandal over long wait times for veterans seeking care and records that were falsified to camouflage the problems. In the CBS poll, just 30 percent rated the VA as doing a good job.”

While the trend is not exactly a new thing there can be no doubt that it has been greatly accelerated over the past six years by the King of Politicization himself .

The trend away from big government and the subsequent move back towards local government control and  accountability , while certainly unintentional on Obama’s part , will turn out to be his greatest accomplishment .

It takes a Statist to make people abhor the State .

The magnitude of the shift is even more impressive when one takes into account the massive effort exerted by the MSM these past six years in carrying “Dear Leader’s” water . Imagine where public sympathies would be if they weren’t bombarded on a daily basis with Statist propaganda and instead were offered the truth .

Police Chief Accuses Secret Service Of Misconduct

” Nashville’s police chief is raising stunning new allegations regarding the U.S. Secret Service, saying local agents once asked his officers to fake a warrant.

Even more disturbing, Chief Steve Anderson said he complained to top Secret Service officials in Washington, and they did not seem to care.

The allegations regarding the January 2013 incident are contained in a letter that Anderson sent last week to several members of the House Committee on Oversight. That’s the congressional committee that has spearheaded the on-going investigation into the Secret Service. Secret Service Director Julia Pierson was recently forced to resign as a result of that scandal.

” There’s already a lot of fodder to attack the Secret Service with, and this will be more,” said Rep. Jim Cooper, D-Tennessee, who was among the committee members who received the letter.

The legal director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Tennessee, Thomas Castelli, called the incident an “absolutely appalling” violation of basic constitutional principles.

” If this is something that not all law enforcement — and I’m talking about from the cop patrolling the streets in our smallest town in Tennessee all the way up to the Secret Service and the FBI — if this is not something that they’re taught, then that’s a big problem,” Castelli said. “

The Case For Panic

” Deadly, irrational, and determined, the intruder snuck across a weakened perimeter. Eluding capture, the intruder was detained only after missteps and close calls. The spin began soon after the threat was isolated. Information was selectively leaked. Half-truths and untruths were uttered. Responsibility was avoided; privileges and credentials asserted; authority reasserted. Trust us. Remain calm. Don’t panic.

This is the template of recent events. A mental case jumps the White House fence. He makes it to the East Room before he’s tackled by an off-duty Secret Service agent. Initial statements turn out to be misleading or false. We discover that lapses in security are much worse than previously understood, that in recent memory the White House was sprayed with bullets, and that an armed man with a criminal record rode in an elevator with the president. The official in charge of the Secret Service, promoted for reasons of affirmative action, resigns hours after the White House expresses its confidence in her abilities. The overriding impression is of disarray, confusion, bad management, failed communication, anomie, disillusion, corruption, and secrecy. But do not worry. Things are under control.

The elevator? It was in the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, where the president told the American people that the Ebola outbreak in West Africa is not a threat to our country. President Obama said the chances of Ebola appearing in the United States are “extremely low.” If a carrier somehow finds his way to the 50 states, “We have world-class facilities and professionals ready to respond. And we have effective surveillance mechanisms in place.” Two weeks later, as Byron York points out, the president was proven utterly wrong.

It is the same story as the fence-jumper: lax security, missed opportunities, hollow defenses. A Liberian national exposed to the terrible virus travels on a visa to visit his sister in Dallas. He has a three-hour layover in Dulles Airport. Upon his arrival in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area he exposes, at a minimum, 100 people, including children, to Ebola. When he visits a hospital looking for help, he is examined and sent away. Two days later he begins vomiting uncontrollably. “His whole family was screaming.” An ambulance arrived. He was returned to the hospital, where he remains.

Again, the authorities behave irresponsibly and inscrutably. Again, the faces on our televisions say there is no cause for alarm. “I think the notion that we will not have an outbreak of Ebola here, more than just an isolated person or two, is very reliable and very true,” says MSNBC house doctor Zeke “If You Like Your Doctor You Can Pay More” Emanuel. Emanuel is not bothered in the slightest—but then he has just 18 years left anyway.

I have a second opinion. Not only do I disagree with the constant stream of soothing and complacent rhetoric from Dr. Zeke’s friends in government and media. I also believe it is entirely rational to fear the possibility of a major Ebola outbreak, of a threat to the president and his family, of jihadists crossing the border, of a large-scale European or Asian war, of nuclear proliferation, of terrorists detonating a weapon of mass destruction. These dangers are real, and pressing, and though the probability of their occurrence is not high, it is amplified by the staggering incompetence and failure and misplaced priorities of the U.S. government. It is not Ebola I am afraid of. It is our government’s ability to deal with Ebola.”

Here is another key paragraph in an essay full of key paragraphs providing a virtual laundry list of State malfeasance …

” Over the last few years the divergence between what the government promises and what it delivers, between what it says is happening or will happen and what actually is happening and does happen, between what it determines to be important and what the public wishes to be important—this gap has become abysmal, unavoidable, inescapable. We hear of “lone-wolf” terrorism, of “workplace violence,” that if you like your plan you can keep your plan. We are told that Benghazi was a spontaneous demonstration, that al Qaeda is on the run, that the border is secure as it has ever been, that Assad must go, that I didn’t draw a red line, the world drew a red line, that the IRS targeting of Tea Party groups involved not a smidgen of corruption, that the Islamic State is not Islamic. We see the government spend billions on websites that do not function, and the VA consign patients to death by waiting list and then cover it up. We are assured that Putin won’t invade; that the Islamic State is the jayvee team of terrorism; that Bowe Bergdahl served with honor and distinction; that there is a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.”

These Charts Show How Gender Bias May Have Played A Role In The White House Secret Service Breaches

SS Double Standards

” Even MSNBC and their Democratic guests agreed: Julia Pierson was not the right person for the job, and her gender may have played a bigger role than it should have in getting her hired.

But looking past the former Secret Service director, who resigned on Wednesday, and examining the people who make up the Secret Service may give even more insight to whether political correctness was too overzealous within the organization.

Reportedly, White House intruder Omar Gonzalez “overpowered” the agent who was stationed just inside the front White House door, The New York Times reports.

The NY Times story initially included the fact that that agent was a “female,” but, as the Weekly Standard reports, that fact was later edited and omitted.

And it might now be clear why.

The Secret Service’s own web site includes a flier detailing the physical standards that its agents must meet to be eligible for the service – but these charts reveal a surprising tidbit of information: women and men doing the same job are not held to the same standards of physical fitness. “

Armed Private Contractor Was Allowed On Elevator With Obama

” An armed private security agent was allowed on an elevator with President Barack Obama earlier this month in Atlanta, a Secret Service official said on Tuesday, in another case involving a security failure for the embattled agency.

The incident occurred while Obama was visiting the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Sept. 16, three days before a man with a knife jumped the White House fence in Washington and ran into the executive mansion.

The White House intrusion has sparked sharp criticism of the agency responsible for protecting the president. Secret Service Director Julia Pierson told a congressional committee on Tuesday: “This is unacceptable and I take full responsibility.”

In the Atlanta incident, first reported by the Washington Examiner and Washington Post, a security contractor with the CDC was operating the elevator carrying Obama and his Secret Service detail.

The man began taking pictures and video of Obama on his phone, prompting the Secret Service to take him aside for questioning after they left the elevator, the agency official said.”

GOP Rep: ‘Politically Correct’ Secret Service Has Allowed 1,000 Security Lapses

” An internal Secret Service report revealed more than “1,000 security breaches and vulnerabilities,” according to a House investigator who said that a “politically correct” culture is endangering President Obama.

“ There are new details that will come out that — you really have to question if security is their number one objective,” Representative Jason Chaffetz (R., Utah), who sits on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that is holding a Tuesday hearing on the Secret Service, tells National Review Online. “They want to be politically correct.” “

Secret Service Launches Probe Into White House Security Breach

White House Intruder Armed

” The intruder who sprinted across the White House lawn and was able to enter the North Portico doors had a knife, officials said Saturday as the Secret Service pledged a review of Friday night’s security breach and increased patrols.

Omar J. Gonzalez, 42, an Iraq war veteran, was arrested after he hopped over a fence at 7:20 p.m. and sprinted across the lawn before entering the North Portico doors. Officials initially said Gonzalez was unarmed, but a law enforcement official told NBC News Saturday that Gonzales had a four-inch folding knife on him when he was arrested. Army records show Gonzalez is an Iraq war veteran who served as a cavalry scout, and he served in Iraq from 2006 to 2008.

The Secret Service on Saturday was reviewing how Gonzalez was able to make it as far as he did, and said in a statement that “the location of Gonzalez’s arrest is not acceptable.” Secret Service Director Julia Pierson increased security patrols and surveillance of the White House fence and ordered an investigation into what went wrong.

On Saturday another man, a 19-year-old from New Jersey, was arrested after he tried to drive past a barricaded entrance to the complex and refused to stop, Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary said. The man, identified by a law enforcement official as Kevin Carr of Shamong, N.J., didn’t hit the barricades or cause any damage, but was arrested on a charge of unlawful entry. Streets surrounding the entrance at were briefly closed.”

Golfers Frisked As Obama Arrives At Martha’s Vineyard Club

” Regulars at the Vineyard Golf Club in Martha’s Vineyard were gobsmacked when President Obama unexpectedly strolled onto a nearby green and they were immediately frisked. “There was no warning he was coming,” sniffed a guest.

“ There was security on the way in, but no word as to why they were there.” The member added, “While eating, overlooking the golf course, guests had to stand up and be wanded.” One asked if he could finish his hot soup first, and an Obama security man cracked, ominously, “So, you’re not cooperating?” “

Secret Service Staff Say Guarding The Former First Lady Was ‘The Worst Form Of Punishment,’ Author Reveals In Explosive New Book

Presidential secrets: Author Ronald Kessler rips the lid off the private lives of the the presidents in his new book

” Her nasty treatment, her explosive temper and her imperious attitude toward those assigned to her detail have earned former first lady Hillary Clinton the title of the most detested person under the protection of the Secret Service.

And as a result, agents are all too happy to keep Hillary in the dark about Bill’s buxom blonde love and her secret visits to their Chappaqua home,  according to Ron Kessler in his explosive forthcoming book The First Family Detail, published by Crown Forum.

‘Agents say being on Hillary Clinton’s detail is the worst duty assignment in the Secret Service. Being assigned to her detail is a form of punishment.’

It takes a special kind of stupid to malign and mistreat those who are responsible for protecting one’s life . Then again , arrogance is a Clinton hallmark .

” In response to a cheerful ‘Good morning, ma’am’, by a former uniformed officer, Hillary’s response to him was ‘Fuck off’.

‘ Hillary was so mistrustful and vengeful,’ a former agent told Kessler.

‘ We were basically told, the Clintons don’t want to see you, they don’t want to hear you, get of the way’, according to a former Secret Service agent.”

As my parents always told me , the true measure of a person’s character is how you treat the people that can in no way help you advance your ambitions .

” Foster was just one of many Hillary verbally attacked. She didn’t like law enforcement officers or the military, former Secret Service agent Lloyd Bulman stated. ‘She was just really rude to almost everybody. She’d act like she didn’t want you around, like you were beneath her.’

She went years without speaking to some agents.

While publicly courting law enforcement organizations, privately she felt disdain. She wanted state troopers and local police to wear suits and drive unmarked cars. No military aides could wear their uniforms in the White House. If agents driving her went over a bump, she’d swear at them.”

Car Follows Motorcade In, White House Locks Down

” Access to the White House complex was halted for about an hour Tuesday after a vehicle followed a motorcade carrying President Barack Obama’s daughters through the gates.

The driver, identified as Mathew Evan Goldstein, 55, was arrested and charged with unlawful entry. No hometown was given.”

How A Hacker Intercepted FBI And Secret Service Calls With Google Maps

” Earlier this week, Bryan Seely, a network engineer and one-time Marine, played me recordings of two phone calls (embedded below.) The calls were placed by unwitting citizens to the FBI office in San Francisco and to the Secret Service in Washington, D.C. Neither the callers nor the FBI or Secret Service personnel who answered the phone realized that Seely was secretly recording them. He used Google Maps to do it.”

Soundcloud Secret Service

“Yesterday, Gizmodo reported on how easy it was for Seely to spam Google Maps with fake listings. Seely has revealed to Valleywag a more troubling way to exploit the Google’s laissez-faire attitude toward verification—loopholes the international search megalith has known about for at least four years.”

Soundcloud FBI

” The callers that Seely recorded thought they were speaking directly to the government agencies because they looked up the telephone number on Google Maps. What they didn’t know was that Seely had set up fake listings for the San Francisco FBI office and Secret Service in Washington, D.C., displaying numbers that went to a phone account he set up rather than the federal offices. After Seely’s numbers received the calls, they were seamlessly forwarded to the real offices the callers were trying to reach, only now the audio of their conversations with real federal agents was being captured by Seely.

Seely told Valleywag:

Who is gonna think twice about what Google publishes on their maps? Everyone trusts Google implicitly and it’s completely unwarranted and it’s completely unsafe. I could make a duplicate of the White House and take every inbound phone call from the White House. I could do it for every Senator, every Congressman, every mayor, every governor—every Democratic, every Republican candidate. Every office.

This is what I do when I’m bored. I just uncovered a national security issue while I was at McDonald’s. My internet at the house just got installed [last Saturday] so all these hacks and everything I figured out, was on wifi at McDonald’s while my 5-year-old was playing with other little kids.”

There is more than a touch of irony in Google being used to violate the privacy of the State after all they’ve done in allowing the State to violate our privacy . Can you say “hoist from their own petard” … LOL

Secret Service Officials Reportedly Accused Of Misconduct In 17 Countries

” Secret Service officials are being accused of recently engaging in sexual misconduct and other indiscretions in a total of 17 countries, according to a report Friday in The Washington Post.

The paper reported that the claims were made by whistleblowers to a Senate committee. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., top Republican on that Homeland Security subcommittee, told the Post that the accounts contradict claims made by Secret Service leaders that the agency does not allow such behavior.

The shocking allegations follow the April 2012 incident where a number of agents were caught drinking and seeing prostitutes while on assignment in Colombia.”

HK Operational Briefcase: German Design, MP5 Included (VIDEO)

” Since the 1950s, the most common accessory for the well-dressed businessman has been the briefcase. This innocent clamshell box with a handle is so frequently seen that it is hardly noticed and this very familiarity led German firearms innovator HK to design one with a heck of a surprise inside – an MP5.”

” In many situations, covert concealment of any select fire weapon is an operators’ (and civilians’) trump card and for business persons or VIPs in a high threat area or industry, employing a low-key protection specialist may be the best option for this.  Usually these contractors dress in a manner similar to that of their client in order not to get made as an outsider in the group they are protecting, but there is also the issue of arming these guards discretely without tell tale bulges or awkward equipment. Likewise, an otherwise unseen submachine gun capable of ripping out fifteen shots in a second without reaching for a weapon gives everybody piece of mind and this also went for covert operations in an urban environment, where having an instantly deployable weapon when none is readily visible can save lives and catch bad guys by surprise.”

To Hell With Him , Pray For Us

‘Pray for Obama’ sign under fire from Secret Service

“The Secret Service is looking into a sign posted in Victoria, Texas.

The sign says “Pray for Obama”, but it’s the scripture quoted below those words that is raising eyebrows: Psalms 109:8.

Psalms 109:8 reads, “Let his days be few, and let another take his office.””

“Report: Secret Service thanked baker after he refused to host Biden over O’s “you didn’t build that” remark”

” Joel Gehrke of the Examiner calls it a “startling” bit of news. I agree; the same passage jumped out at me when we headlines the WDBJ story this morning. But does it really say what we all think it says? Quote:

” Then, several paragraphs later:
Here’s the back story, we’re told that shortly after Crumb and Get It told Biden’s advance people ‘no’ — the secret service walked in and told Chris McMurray ”Thanks for standing up and saying ‘no’ — then they bought a whole bunch of
cookies and cupcakes. “

Funds , Not Forks

Wizbang

” Imagine if Bush had insulted his Latino guests like this.

Latinos with forks, that seems to be Obama’s newest fear. At least, that’s the case judging from his actions at this years National Association of Latino Elected Officials (NALEO) luncheon since Obama had the Secret Service confiscate all the dinner forks from the participants at the June 22 event held in Orlando, Florida.

I guess Obama doesn’t worry about millions of illegal immigrants taking our jobs, getting free schooling and social services, but he’ll be darned if they’ll be allowed to eat dinner with forks like a civilized person, at least not with him around, anyway.

Several participants Tweeted that butter knives were banned outright and forks were confiscated as soon as the diners finished eating and before the President entered the room to speak. ”

Someone isn’t feeling the love these days , I guess …. LOL

But They Did It Too

Washington Post:

“Some Secret Service employees accused of misconduct in the Colombian prostitution scandal are privately contending that their conduct didn’t warrant dismissal because senior managers tolerated similar behavior during official trips, according to people familiar with the employees’ thinking.”

” Twenty-eight bucks! What a remarkably precise sum. Thirty dollars less a federal handling fee?
Why isn’t this guy Obama’s treasury secretary or budget director ? Or, at the very least, the head honcho of the General Services Administration, whose previous director has sadly had to step
down after the agency’s taxpayer-funded public-servants-gone-wild Bacchanal in Vegas. ”

He is one of the funniest political commentators out there and never fails to make us aware of the sad state of government affairs in a hilarious , biting fashion .

“Well, this agent who was kind of ridiculous there in posting pictures and comments about checking someone out,” Palin told Greta van
Susteren on her FOX News program. “Well check this out, bodyguard — you’re fired. And I hope his wife kicks his okol’e and sends him to the doghouse.. As long as he’s not eating the dog,
along with his former boss. Greta, you know, a lot of people will just, I guess say that this is boys being boys. And boys will be boys, but they shouldn’t be in positions of authority.”
