Connecticut Massacre Records Secret, Media Seek Access

” The shooter is dead and the prosecutor handling the case has said he does not expect any charges.

Yet authorities are continuing to keep search warrants and police records secret. Media outlets have pressed for the release of more records, which could shed light on a crime that has revived the national debate over gun control and could change the way guns are regulated.

News media advocates say the records should be unsealed, arguing the public has a right to see such records, which include what was found in the house and car. They say records may be sealed only when an investigation would be hurt by disclosure.

“There seems to be absolutely no reason that they would need to. It’s not going to jeopardize the case in any way,” said Linda Petersen, chairwoman of the Freedom of Information Committee of the Society of Professional Journalists.”

Freaky Secrets of the Presidency

” Sorry, King — I Gotta Get Back
To My Marijuana Harvest!

When George Washington and Ben Franklin were in France raising money for the Revolution, Washington told the King of France that he would leave Franklin in charge of the negotiations because he had to return to Virginia. He is quoted as saying, “I wouldn’t miss the hemp harvest at Mount Vernon for all the tea in China”. Hemp (marijuana), which was used to make clothes and paper, was the number one cash crop of the colonies and remained so until the invention of the cotton gin. “

  ” It’s funny.

Squint, and you can see where the
Obama administration has messed up its national security leak problem to the point where Democratic Senator Dianne
Feinstein (up for re-election, by the
way) feels the need to criticize said
administration for its feckless, juvenile, and callous disregard for proper security and the need to put the country above petty partisan
advantage*. “

Good leaders surround themselves with good people , incompetent ones associate with incompetents . There is no better example than this administration .

John Hinderaker explains

” Holder’s letter is a remarkable document. Viewed from a strictly technical standpoint, it is a terrible piece of legal work. Its arguments are weak at best; in some cases, they are so frivolous as to invite the imposition of sanctions if they were asserted in court. I will explain why momentarily, but first this observation: if an opposing party requests documents that plainly are protected by a privilege, a lawyer will routinely assert the privilege, on principle, even though there is nothing hurtful to his case in those documents. On the other hand, a lawyer will not assert a lousy claim of privilege unless he badly wants to keep the documents in question out of the opponent’s hands because of their damaging nature. If I am correct that the administration’s assertion of executive privilege is baseless, it is reasonable to infer that the documents, if made public, would be highly damaging to President Obama, Attorney General Holder, or other senior administration officials. Now, as to Holder’s letter:”

Statism Is On the March

And if you doubt it , read on . There is an alarming increase in the demand of governments small and large , western and not to censor the information available on the web . This mushrooming desire to hide the actions of said governments from the public eye , especially in this day and age of bailouts , Solyndras and Drone hit lists should give us all pause .

The time for vigilance is now . As we have seen in the recent attempts by governments to pass SOPA and other information power grabs , the governments of the world no matter their political persuasion , have one universal idea in mind … that of the subjugation of the unwashed . Our Dear Leaders understand only too well what a free and unfettered exchange of information and ideas from the citizenry will do to their way of life .

(CNN) — “Western governments, including the United States, appear to be stepping up efforts to censor Internet search results and YouTube videos, according to a “transparency report” released by Google.”

We here in America have this to contemplate from the ” most honest , ethical and open ” administration .

“In the last half of 2011, U.S. agencies asked Google to remove 6,192 individual pieces of content from its search results, blog posts or archives of online videos, according to the report. That’s up 718% compared with the 757 such items that U.S. agencies asked Google to remove in the six months prior.”

A cynic might think that they had something to hide at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave . Couldn’t have anything to do with a certain upcoming election , we’re sure.

Appalling , Just Appalling

Welcome to Hope and Change , where children are taught to be stool pigeons of the “state “ .

” The website NJ.com reports that one parent, Richard Goldberg of Marlboro, was appalled when he asked his 9-year-old twin sons about the exam and was told about the question, which required an essay. One of the boys wrote about breaking a ceiling fan and not telling his dad (presumably until now). The other wrote about the time Goldberg took them out of school on false pretenses for a day of skiing!

“All of a sudden,” Goldberg told reporters, “you have in a sense Big Brother checking out the secrets of families.” He added that the question has the potential to open up all manner of Pandora’s boxes. He asked, as a hypothetical, what action administrators might feel impelled to take it the secret divulged had to do with a criminal act. “
