Top 10 Health Benefits Of Going To A Shooting Range

” Whether you’re preparing for the military or police academy or just out for a recreational activity, going to a shooting range can be a stress-relieving adventure. Believe it or not, the benefits of participating in shooting sports can improve your health both physically and mentally.

Here are the top 10 health benefits of going to a shooting range:

Builds physical discipline: In an age of the “couch potato,” this sport can help build many physical disciplines that are not only healthy but enjoyable. Increased strength, stamina, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills are just a few of the physical disciplines acquired in the shooting sports that apply, not only to this sport, but to all of life.

Arm strength: Shooting a gun requires strong, sturdy arms and hands; in order to aim and shoot your target you must keep your hands and arms steady.

Focus: Keeping your eyes on the target while aiming a gun requires a lot of focus. Removing your mind from any other activities, you find yourself in the present moment in which there is only one thing at hand to do, and it straight in front of you.

Eyesight: Practicing your shooting can’t fix any eye deficiencies, but it can exercise the eye capabilities that you already have. By giving your eyes a break from staring at computers, TVs, phones and tablets, you will be relieving this eye stress.”

Alabama Congressional Candidate DESTROYS Obamacare Bill With AR-15 In New Ad

” An Alabama congressional candidate uses a .40 Glock pistol, a .270 Cooper rifle and an AR-15 to destroy a copy of the Obamacare bill in a new video released by his campaign.

The message in candidate Will Brooke’s video, shared first with The Daily Caller on Wednesday, is clear: Republicans have been successful in taking shots at Obamacare, but it’s going to take “more extreme measures” to get rid of it.

“ We’re down here to have a little fun today and talk about two serious subjects: the Second Amendment, and see how much damage we can do to this copy of Obamacare,” Brooke, sitting on the tailgate of a pick-up truck, says in the video.”

Read more about this innovative campaign ad that combines healthy pokes in the eye to two of the greatest threats to our freedoms as put forth by the Statist democrats , those being gun bans and the much dreaded Obamacare legislation at The Federalist Papers .

Good use of campaign funds Mr Brooke , we wish you much success .

Colorado Public School Takes Students On A Field Trip To The Shooting Range

Craver Middle School Gun Trip

” School officials in Pueblo County, Colorado are bucking the anti-gun trend and recently approved a field trip for middle school students to a local shooting range where they learned about gun safety and how to properly handle a firearm. The gun safety and marksman group Project Appleseed, an activity of The Revolutionary War Veterans Association, was brought in to instruct students, all of whom fired at the range with live ammunition. The trip was scheduled shortly after students learned about The Revolutionary War in their classrooms.

” We’ve never been allowed to bring actual real firearms into a school. Until this week. This is a very big deal. We had them touching fire arms, holding them and learning about how to handle them safely,” Appleseed Instructor Elizabeth Blackwood told KRDO.”

A Navy SEAL Sniper’s Perspective On Firearms Ownership

& The NRA

” I first joined the NRA when I decided to attend the NRA Range Development course in 2005. I was there to learn about private range operations and the hurdles of getting shooting ranges approved in California. I learned that getting a shooting range approved in California is almost harder than getting Spotted Owl on the menu at a Sierra Club gala.

I took military leave from the SEAL sniper course to attend the Las Vegas NRA Range Development conference in 2005. I remember sitting in the conference room as the attendees were going around the room introducing themselves, “Joe from Colorado, gun show owner”, “Bob from Montana, gun smith…” When it came to my turn, I stood up, kept a straight face, and told them I was a representative of the Sierra Club who was attending to find ways to shut down shooting ranges across the nation. I’m pretty sure one guy had a stroke, and the rest were just north of apoplectic. When I told them I was bullshitting them and gave them my background as a Navy SEAL, the tension disappeared and the room erupted in laughter.

I never shot much as a kid, aside from shooting clay pidgeons off the bow of the boat I worked on. I hunted quite a bit, but it was with my spear gun, not a rifle. I learned to shoot in the Navy, and only became an expert with a weapon by the time I finished my first SEAL platoon work up. It was there that I was given a shot to attend sniper school with my best friend Glen Doherty (later killed in Benghazi, Libya).”

” A Snap Shot Perspective of My Views on Gun Ownership & The 2nd Amendment

  • The 2nd Amendment is inherent in America’s cultural DNA
  • Limiting magazine capacity is ridiculous and impractical
  • I believe everyone who owns a gun should attend a firearms safety qualifications course, and this should be standardized across the country. Too many people I’ve seen on the range are unsafe.
  • Yes, owning a gun is a right, driving is also a right but you have to have pass a drivers test to prove competency
  • Few people outside of America understand how important firearms ownership is to Americans
  • Background checks are a good idea but should take minutes, not days
  • Often gun laws are made by people who don’t use, own, or understand firearms”

” I love Judge Jeanine Pirro!! Check this out-she’s at the range target shooting with a handgun. Awesome!!

Judge Jeanine: “I’ve been reading your comments. Thanks so much!! FYI close to the target with handgun because any engagement would be with someone in my home. I am not a sniper ergo I will not be shooting from 25 yards but rather only to defend myself in my home.” “

Police found the bodies of Kyle, 38, and Chad Littlefield, 35, at the shooting range about 50 miles southwest of Fort Worth. VERMONT GUN RANGE BANS POLICE OFFICERS FROM FACILITY OVER PROPOSED CITY-WIDE BAN ON SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLES

VT Shooting Range

” A Vermont gun range has banned the Burlington Police Department from using its facility after City Council voted to advance a proposed ban on semi-automatic weapons and high-capacity magazines. And given the fact that such facilities are limited in the area, the move could impact when and where officers can go target shooting.

Officials with the Lamoille Valley Fish and Game Club told Fox News that it is hard for the facility to support the city, which includes police officers, due to the attempted gun grab by City Council.”
