Q&A On Scandals And Eric Holder

” Attorney General Eric Holder is head of the Department of Justice—in charge of enforcing the nation’s laws. So what happens when the head law enforcer gets caught up in questionable conduct?

The Obama Administration is under scrutiny for the scandals of the IRS targeting conservative groups and the Justice Department investigating journalists, and Holder’s role is the focus of a lot of speculation. We sat down with Heritage senior legal fellow Hans von Spakovsky to get some context.

A number of news organizations including the Associated Press, CNN, and The New York Times just refused to meet with Eric Holder “off the record” about guidelines for investigating journalists. Have we even begun to get to the bottom of this?”

American Voters 4:1 In Favor Of Special Prosecutor For IRS Scandal

” American voters are getting the whiff of corruption emanating out of Washington D.C.. Quinnipiac surveyed voters and found a whopping 76%-17% in favor of a special prosecutor to investigate the IRS scandal.

Even more surprising, Democrats favored 63%-30% further investigating the IRS’ targeting of pro-Constitution, Conservative, Christian and tea party groups. Furthermore, in the May 30th released poll, President Obama was given a negative 45%-49% job approval, which was just above water at 48%-45% on May 1st. Independent voters were at 37%-57% approval of President Obama.”

As John McCain said the other day ” who benefits” ? Of course the answer to that question is simple .

“Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said Wednesday that Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) was wrong to accuse President Obama of hypocrisy for opposing a special counsel to investigate recent national security leaks.

“Senator McCain has his way of saying things,” Feinstein told reporters. “He’s a United States senator — he can certainly say what he wants. I don’t happen to agree with that.” “
