Police Identify Four Suspects Charged In Deadly New Jersey Mall Carjacking

” Four men have been arrested and charged in the death of a man shot in front of his wife during a carjacking outside an upscale mall in northern New Jersey last weekend, authorities say.

The suspects, identified as Hanif Thompson, 29, Karif Ford, 31, Basim Henry 32, and Kevin Roberts, 33, appear to have been motivated by a desire for the victim’s silver Range Rover, Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray said in a press conference Saturday.

The victim, 30-year-old Dustin Friedland, was shot in the head Dec.15 in front of his wife in the parking garage of The Mall at Short Hills. Authorities found the Range Rover, which two of the suspects drove off in, the next morning in Newark, about 10 miles from Short Hills. “

3 Minors Point Gun At Man, Woman In North Philadelphia

” Police say three minors pointed what appears to be a gun at two people in North Philadelphia earlier this week.

The youngest suspect, 10-years-old, turned himself in on Wednesday night.

Police say the gun was either a toy gun or a BB gun. Authorities continue to search for two additional minors.

The incident occurred in the Tioga section of the city on Monday around 6:45 p.m.

According to police, a 27-year-old man was approached by a group of males on the 3300 block of North 16th Street.

Police say one of the males then reached into his backpack, pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the victim saying “hey buddy.” “

Boston Marathon Attack: Circle Of Possible Bombers Narrows, Experts Say

” Details emerging from the Boston Marathon bombing so far suggest that the perpetrators are most likely to be identified as American jihadis or, possibly but less likely, antigovernment extremists, say counterterrorism experts.

Investigators have not offered any information about potential suspects and are still seeking tips and video from the public. Yet several experts who follow radical groups inside the US say the timing of the attack, the choice of weapon, the target, and the venue are all suggestive. Those things together are beginning to triangulate toward a small set of possible perpetrators, and, as is often the case, the weapon is key.

Two common pressure cookers packed with nails, ball bearings, and explosives were each rigged to a timer and used as a bomb, the FBI confirmed Tuesday. The two bombs exploded a block from each other 13 seconds apart at 2:50 p.m. – more than two hours after the winners of the marathon crossed the finish line.

“But at this point what we are potentially talking about is really just one or two types of individuals or small groups – both are home-grown terrorists, either home-grown Islamic jihadists or right-wing extremists.” “

“Another robbery foiled by a little old lady”

” Out in Hendersonville, NC, an 87 year old lady persuaded two armed robbers to leave her house when they broke in at 3 AM. And by “persuaded” I mean that she showed them the handgun she
was going to shoot them with if they
didn’t exit the premises immediately.

The best part is what the County Sheriff said.

   “People have every right to
defend their homes, and should do so,” HendersonCounty Sheriff Charles S. McDonald said after an 87-year-old woman scared off
would-be home invaders by
brandishing a handgun.

“I can’t recommend to people
what they should or should not
do, but I will tell you that first-
degree burglary — breaking into a house while it is occupied — is a serious crime,”McDonald said Saturday.

“Anybody that is going to do
that is risking a lot, so you
really have to ask yourself if
you’re confronted in a situation like that what might be at stake,” he said. “My general advice is ‘aim small, miss small.’” ”
