U.S. Offering $5 Million Reward For Al Qaeda Capo … Who Was Released From Gitmo In 2006

” I wish I could tell you that this is a bad Bush policy that Obama’s long since discontinued but we know better, don’t we? I wonder what reward we’ll be offering for this turd, say, circa 2020.

The defense here, I take it, will be to point to the amount of time that’s elapsed since they released him and claim that no one could have known in 2006 that this guy would grow into a fish big enough to justify a multimillion-dollar reward. Which raises the question: What sort of fish did they think he’d grow into? A garden-variety battlefield jihadi? Even in a best-case scenario, where they sincerely thought the Saudi “rehab” program would straighten him out, they were badly, badly wrong in their judgment.

Ibrahim al-Rubaysh was originally released in 2006 by the George W. Bush administration and put into a Saudi Arabian “rehabilitation” program. However, al-Rubaysh returned to the battlefield and now serves as a top leader with Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula — one of the most dangerous Al Qaeda affiliates… “

Carter: ‘Inappropriate’ For U.S. To Block Member Of Terrorist Group From Entering Country

jimmy_carter_not_the_worst_president_anymore_poster-r36985215bd3344cc9251d853ccf6d8b4_anft_8byvr_512

” Former President Jimmy Carter yesterday said he is supportive of letting a known member of a terrorist group, Hamid Aboutalebi, into the United States as Iran’s newest ambassador to the United Nations.

Aboutalebi was a member of the Muslim student group who held 52 Americans hostage at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran for more than a year beginning in 1979 during Carter’s presidency.

When asked in an interview if the United States should block Aboutalebi’s entrance to U.N. headquarters in New York, Carter told radio station WTOP:  “You know, those were college students at that time, and I think that they have matured. …I think it would be inappropriate for the United States to try to block someone that Iran wanted to choose.”

While Aboutalebi claims that he was not part of the initial hostage takeover, he admits that he was a part of the organization that carried it out. According to Iranian-American activist Banafesh Zand, Aboutalebi served as a translator at a news conference hosted by the militant group just weeks after the takeover. He was 22 years old at the time.”

FBI Says Man Shot Dead While Being Questioned About Boston Bombings

” An FBI agent shot and killed a Florida man who turned violent while being questioned about the Boston Marathon bombings early on Wednesday, the bureau said.

A friend of the dead man identified him as 27-year-old Ibragim Todashev of Orlando, a Chechen who had previously lived in Boston, the Orlando Sentinel and Orlando television stations reported. Two brothers named by the FBI as suspects in the April 15 bombings were also ethnic Chechens with roots in Russia’s volatile North Caucasus region.”

Suspected Saudi Terrorist Al-Harbi Visited White House Numerous Times

” Saudi national Abdul Rahman Ali al-Harbi, who was briefly held as a “person of interest” in the Boston bombings and then downgraded in less than 24 hours to a witness, visited the White House on numerous occasions since 2009, The Rightscoop reports today.

The startling allegation follows an earlier report indicating that al-Harbi was visited in the hospital by First Lady Michelle Obama after he allegedly sustained injuries from one of the explosives placed at the Boston Marathon.

Blogosphere sleuths subsequently put their hands on a photo definitively placing Obama at the hospital.

The Department of Homeland Security confessed today that al-Harbi was on a terror watch list, although DHS boss Napolitano attempted to minimize this revelation by stating that he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Charged With Using and Conspiring to Use a Weapon of Mass Destruction

“Here are the charges. You can read the full criminal complaint below:”

In addition to the charges, the affidavit includes a brief timeline tracing Dzhokhar and his brother Tamerlan’s placement of the bombs and the carjacking they conducted immediately afterward.”

FBI Hunting 12-Strong Terrorist “Sleeper Cell” Linked To Brothers Tamerlan And Dzhokhar Tsarnaev

” The FBI was last night hunting a 12-strong terrorist “sleeper cell” linked to the Boston marathon bomb brothers.

Police believe Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were specially trained to carry out the devastating attack.

More than 1,000 FBI agents were last night working to track down the cell and arrested a man and two women 60 miles from Boston in the hours before Dzhokhar’s dramatic capture after a bloody shootout on Friday.

A source close to the investigation said: “We have no doubt the brothers were not acting alone. The devices used to detonate the two bombs were highly sophisticated and not the kind of thing people learn from Google.

“They were too advanced. Someone gave the brothers the skills and it is now our job to find out just who they were. Agents think the sleeper cell has up to a dozen members and has been waiting several years for their day to come.” “

Boston Bomber Could Have Been Deported After 2009 Arrest

” One of the Chechen terrorists who carried out the Boston Marathon bombings could have been deported years ago after a criminal arrest and/or conviction and the other was granted American citizenship on the 11th anniversary of the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the 26-year-old killed in a wild shootout with police, was a legal U.S. resident who nevertheless could have been removed from the country after a 2009 domestic violence arrest and conviction, according to a Judicial Watch source. That means the Obama administration missed an opportunity to deport Tsarnaev but evidently didn’t feel he represented a big enough threat.

Other reporting confirms Tsarnaev’s arrest for domestic violence but we’re seeking confirmation of a conviction. Nevertheless he would have been subject to removal for the arrest itself.

Years before these Chechen terrorists carried out the Boston Marathon bombings Judicial Watch uncovered critical intelligence documents detailing al Qaeda’s activities in Chechnya, including the creation of a 1995 camp—ordered by Osama bin Laden—to train “international terrorists” to carry out plots against Americans and westerners.”

Daily News Doctored Front Page Photo Of Boston Bombing

” The New York Post was derided Tuesday for apparent inaccuracies in its reporting on the bombing at the Boston Marathon. And now, its rival tabloid, the Daily News, is facing criticism over an apparent photo touch-up.

On yesterday’s cover wrap, the News ran a photo taken by John Tlumacki of The Boston Globe showing an injured woman lying in a pool of blood while being tended to by a civilian.

But the version published by the News seemed to erase a gory wound to the woman’s leg that was visible in other publications that used the photo. On Tuesday evening, a link to a blog post exposing the manipulation began circulating among News journalists, some of whom were none-too-pleased about the situation, multiple newsroom sources told Capital.”

Boston Marathon Bombing: Authorities Questioning Saudi National, Denies Involvement

” Following the twin blasts at the Boston Marathon that has claimed three lives and injured more than 100, a Saudi national is being held in custody in relation to the incident who was near the scene of the blast, CBS News correspondent John Miller reported.

Law enforcement sources told Miller a witness saw a person acting suspiciously when the explosions happened along the marathon route.

“They see him running away from the device,” said Miller. “Now, a reasonable person would be running away. But this person had noticed him before. This is a civilian — chases him down, tackles him, turns him over to the Boston police. The individual is being looked at [and] was suffering from burn injury. That means this person was pretty close to wherever this blast went off, but not so close as to suffer the serious injuries that other people did.” “

… Reveals administration Contradictions

” The timeline of events leading up to last month’s deadly attack in Benghazi and the administration’s shifting explanations have become a major problem for Democrats less than a month before Election Day.

Already under criticism for linking the assault on the U.S. consulate to an anti-Islam video, the administration raised even more eyebrows Thursday when Vice President Biden said he didn’t know about the U.S. mission’s request for more security. Biden’s statement directly contradicts sworn testimony from State Department officials given just the day before.

Update : Earlier Today I posted about the Brett Kimberlin story “Gaining Traction” . Now it seems that Fox News has broadcast on the SWATtings of Erick Erickson and Patterico .

The presence of IBD at Aaron Walker’s Hearing would seem to indicate that the story of Brett Kimberlin is finally starting to gain some notoriety other than just in the blogosphere .

“Adding to Walker’s difficulties is that Vaughey looks to be in his late 60s at least. He mentioned a few times about being retired. (Apparently it’s common for retired judges to sometimes come back to the bench to help active judges with the caseload.) Many of Vaughey’s statements suggest that he doesn’t spend much time on the Internet. Thus, he’s probably not intimately familiar with things like Google (GOOG) and Twitter and how they work.

It seemed like Walker did himself in when the judge asked, “Where do you see this case going?”

Walker, who has tried to get the Maryland State Attorney to file charges against Kimberlin for filing what Walker claims are false criminal charges against him (see here), replied, “I hope to raise enough consciousness to get the State’s Attorney to file charges.”

“How are you going to do that?” Vaughey asked.

Walker replied, “I’ve been raising awareness. There’s now 400,000 posts on Google discussing him (Kimberlin), and I’m guessing 300,000 of them are not very pleasant. These are people calling for charges to be filed.”

If you are a judge who knows very little about the Internet, Walker has just made it sound as though he’s able to generate all of this Google traffic against Kimberlin. And Vaughey seemed to believe that is what caused Kimberlin to get death threats.”
