New Complaint Alleges Harry Reid Intervened On Behalf Of Immigration Visa Scam To Benefit Son’s Client

Reid Ethics Complaint

” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is the target of an ethics and conflict-of-interest complaint over his involvement in a visa-investor venture.

The complaint, filed by the nonprofit activist group Cause of Action, asserts that Reid intervened with top immigration officials to benefit EB-5 visa seekers. The applicants were law clients of Reid’s son.

Among the officials contacted by Reid was Alejandro Mayorkas, then director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

“ Despite the fact that these applications were ineligible for appeal, Sen. Reid’s efforts to lobby USCIS resulted in the reconsideration and approval of these applications, as well as the subsequent securing of millions of dollars in foreign and domestic funds for the (Las Vegas) SLS Hotel & Casino and American Dream Fund EB-5 Regional Center — both of which are major contributors to the Democratic Party,” Cause of Action Executive Director Daniel Epstein wrote.”

Beretta Passes On Building Factory In Va Over McAuliffe Gun Control Stance

” Until Virginia Governor-elect Terry McAuliffe (D) was elected on November 5, Beretta USA had the Old Dominion on a short list of states in which it could build a new factory.

The USA side of Beretta has been based in Maryland, but Governor Martin O’Malley’s (D) gun control push convinced them to move to a more gun-friendly climate. “

Reading The Tea Leaves: An Historical Republican Opportunity

” Tuesday’s results were not good for folks living in New York City or Virginia. The former will be saddled with a communist sympathizer for a mayor, and the latter will have to suffer with having a crook for a governor. The most that New Yorkers can hope for is that Andrew Cuomo prevents Bill de Blasio from finally bankrupting the city. The most that Virginians can hope for is that the law finally catches up with Terry McAuliffe.

For those of us who do not reside in either place, however, there is a silver lining. Ken Cuccinelli ran a terrible campaign until very late in the game; the Republican establishment failed to give him the requisite support; and the government shutdown infuriated the federal workers living in Northern Virginia, causing them to turn out for the Democratic Party. The good news, however, is that, if he had had a week more, Cuccinelli would nonetheless have won. His surge in the last week of the campaign was a function of his decision to make Obamacare the issue on which he ran.

Had Cuccinelli won, there would be panic in Washington, and it might even have affected the White House. But he lost, and Barack Obama is nothing if not vain. This is a man who cannot admit that he made a mistake. Anyone else would have dumped the Attorney General who brought us Fast and Furious. Anyone else would have cleaned house in the State Department after Benghazi. Anyone else would have made Kathleen Sebelius jump off a cliff.”

The accompanying illustration says it all : ” If you can’t see freedom , you suck.” So what does that say about the GOP in recent years ? All they can sell is their souls to the lobbyists .

Terry McAuliffe Establishes Democrats As Party Of The Elites

” Democrat Terry McAuliffe beat Republican Ken Cuccinelli in Virginia’s governor race, outraising Cuccinelli nearly two-to-one and dominating in the richest part of the state.

First, upper-middle class, white suburbs have marched steadily toward the Democrats for several decades. Montgomery County, Md., and Arlington, Va., switched sides. So did the wealthy New York suburbs in Westchester County, N.Y., and Fairfield County, Conn. Philadelphia’s “collar counties,” once Republican bastions, are now Democratic bellwethers.

Why are the white-collar suburbs moving to the Dems? “I think it’s the social issues,” Bill DuBose tells me at Greenberry’s coffee shop in McLean.

The McLean Greenberry’s is the type of place where everyone knows the name of his state delegate. When I pulled into Greenberry’s, I parked between a Mercedes and a BMW.

Most families in McLean earn more than $200,000, according to the Census Bureau.

McLean has no use for Tea Partiers. If the Tea Party was about grabbing pitchforks and storming the castle, McLean is the castle.

McLean is the home to the ruling class. And Terry McAuliffe is the candidate of the ruling class.”

Biden Decries Tea Party’s “Hostility To Science”

Biden Idiocy

” Speaking to a crowd in support of Virginia Democrat Terry McAuliffe Monday, Joe Biden once again disparaged a conservative movement about which he knows precious little.

In his effort to demonize McAuliffe’s Republican opponent in Tuesday’s gubernatorial race, Biden trashed the traditional values embodied by the Tea Party movement, implicitly describing those involved as uneducated rubes.

The statewide race “has captured the attention of the entire nation,” he said, claiming the reason is a widespread disapproval of “the new Republican tea party.”

He went on to describe the patriotic movement as one in which “social recidivism is only outgunned by its hostility to science and technology and innovation and scholarship.” “

Crazy Uncle Joe must not have gotten the memo , but then again we guess it’s hard to stay informed when you spend most of your time locked in the basement .

On another note , what does it say about the dem’s confidence in their candidate if the feel the need to let Uncle Joe grab the mic ? He was certainly “without exaggeration” spreading the manure far and wide .

DHS OFFICIAL WHO ADVOCATED FOR GREENTECH LANDS JOB WITH MAJOR MCAULIFFE DONOR

” Politico reported on Saturday that Doug Smith, the Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary, who exchanged a series of emails with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe about GreenTech Automotive, has landed a new job with MWW, a high powered Washington D.C. public relations firm headed up by a major donor to McAuliffe’s gubernatorial campaign.

According to Politico, Smith “is joining MWW public affairs as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Washington office.” Acting DHS Secretary Rand Beers told Politico “Douglas has played a key role in leading DHS’s efforts in working with the private sector and strengthening the collaboration between the department and all of its private stakeholders from aviation security to intellectual property and all points in between.”

Smith has been heavily criticized by Republicans for playing an inappropriate role as McAuliffe’s advocate within the Department of Homeland Security. McAuliffe’s company, GreenTech Automotive, which he served as chairman from 2010 to 2012 and chairman emeritus since, is currently under investigation by the Inspector General’s Office of the DHS for inappropriate influence in the granting of temporary green cards and permanent visas within the DHS’s EB-5 foreign investors program.”

The revolving door between the federal bureaucracy and corporate America spins out of control and the average citizen gets screwed in the process . Whether it’s journalists on the White House staff or golden parachute jobs in the private sector for past helpful government bureaucrats , the old boy’s network takes care of their own .

McAuliffe Poll Shock: Democrat Up By Only 4 Points In Virginia Governor’s Race

Cucinelli McAullife

” Democrat Terry McAuliffe leads Republican Kenneth T. Cuccinelli II by 4 points in the Virginia governor’s race, according to a Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday — a considerably narrower margin than other recent public polling has shown.

The businessman and former chairman of the Democratic National Committee leads Mr. Cuccinelli, the state’s attorney general, 45 percent to 41 percent, the poll showed, with 9 percent of likely voters opting for Libertarian candidate Robert Sarvis. That lead is down from a 46 percent to 39 percent advantage for Mr. McAuliffe in a Quinnipiac poll last week, when Mr. Sarvis was at 10 percent.

“State Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is nipping at Terry McAuliffe’s heels as the race to be Virginia’s next governor enters the final week of the campaign,” said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. “It goes without saying that turnout is the key to this race and the harshly negative tone of the campaign is the kind that often turns off voters.” “

McAuliffe Bet On The Dying

In Annuity Deal Tied To McAuliffe, 2 Investors Knew They Bet On Specific, Dying People

” A dying mechanic wanted a few thousand dollars to leave to his wife, two sons and infant daughter. A politically connected millionaire, now running for Virginia governor, wanted to make some money. And a Rhode Island estate planner wanted to become ambassador to the Vatican.

All three came together on paper in late 2006 in a deal struck just two months before the 44-year-old mechanic died of cancer.

The mechanic got $5,000. The millionaire, Democrat Terry McAuliffe, made at least $47,000. But the estate planning lawyer, Joseph Caramadre, went to prison instead of Rome.

Caramadre helped McAuliffe place a bet on the dying man based on a loophole the estate planner had sniffed out in the fine print of insurance annuities. Although the loophole was legal, Caramadre has pleaded guilty to stealing the identities of the terminally ill as part of his scheme. He is in federal prison, awaiting sentencing.

There is no indication that McAuliffe or other investors were aware that patients, recruited through hospices and a Catholic newspaper, were sometimes duped into participating. McAuliffe has called himself a “passive investor.”

But at least some investors knew that they were betting on the lives of specific, dying individuals, according to two of them — a former judge and a Hollywood producer.”

Guess Who’s Lying About The ‘Gun Show Loophole’ In Virginia?

”  Earlier this week we learned of NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s $1.1 million anti-gun advertisement buy for Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Terry McAuiliffe. Bloomberg funneled the money into Virginia through his PAC, USA Independence and advertisements have been running on radio and television since Tuesday. One television ad in particular targets the “gun show loophole” and states in a voiceover, “The gun show loophole. It means anyone can buy a gun without a background check.” The ad shows photos of mass murders Seung-Hui Cho (Virginia Tech), Adam Lanza (Sandy Hook), Aaron Alexis (Navy Yard) and James Holmes (Aurora Colorado theater) while implying these killers purchased their guns through this so-called “loophole.”

The problem? The ad is full of lies. None of the mass shooters mentioned purchased their guns at gun shows and many of them passed background checks. Bob Owens over at BearingArms has more:”

Libertarian Crashes The Party On Virginia’s Debate Night

” Halfway through Wednesday evening’s contentious gubernatorial debate in Virginia, a female voice asked a question that was likely going through the minds of many voters: “Can’t vote for either of these guys?”

Libertarian Robert Sarvis, who has been gaining in recent polling thanks to voters’ dissatisfaction with both of the main party candidates, ran his first 30-second television ad during the debate, touting himself as another option. Coming on the heels of more than 30 minutes of heated debate — in which Democratic nominee Terry McAuliffe accused his Republican rival, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, of supporting a social agenda that is bad for women while Cuccinelli accused McAuliffe of wanting to sell Virginia to the highest bidder — Sarvis criticized both candidates, offering Virginians a third choice.

“Like you, I can’t vote for Ken Cuccinelli’s narrow-minded social agenda. I want a Virginia that’s open-minded and welcoming to all,” Sarvis said in the spot. “And like you, I don’t want Terry McAuliffe’s cronyism either, where government picks winners and losers. Join me, and together we can build a Virginia that’s open-minded and open for business.” “

Citizens United Spends $300K To Boost Anti-McAuliffe Film ‘Fast Terry’ In Northern Virginia

Watch the full movie at http://www.FastTerry.com.

” The 29-minute film, “Fast Terry,” was released this summer by Citizens United in the heat of McAuliffe’s (D) campaign for Virginia governor against Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli II (R).

The documentary focuses on two recent McAuliffe business ventures: GreenTech, the electric car company he co-founded that is now under federal investigation (McAuliffe resigned as company chairman in December, and there is no evidence that he personally is under investigation), and Franklin Pellets, a wood pellet company created by McAuliffe that has yet to get off the ground.”

Terry McAuliffe Explains Why He Left His Wife In The Delivery Room To Go To A Fundraiser

“As Buzzfeed’s Andrew Kaczynski reported yesterday, Terry McAuliffe shares in his 1997 book “What a Party,” a story about the time he left his wife, Dorothy, and his crying newborn child in the car so he could attend a Democratic fundraiser.

In the video above, McAuliffe explains the episode in an audio version of his book:

Dorothy was starting to well up in the backseat. She was having trouble understanding how I could be taking my wife and newborn baby to a fund-raiser on our way home from the hospital. We got to the dinner and by then Dorothy was in tears, and I left her with Justin and went inside.”

Think of his lies about his “green” car company and of course his long association with our most ethical president Bill (Blue Dress) Clinton .
